Jurnal Gizi Ilmiah : Jurnal Ilmiah Ilmu Gizi Klinik, Kesehatan Masyarakat dan Pangan merupakan jurnal ilmiah nasional yang mempublikasikan artikel penelitian (research article) dari disiplin ilmu gizi. Artikel yang dipublikasikan di JGI meliputi hasil penelitian di bidang gizi klinik, gizi kesehatan masyarakat, gizi institusi (food service management) dan pangan. JGI terbit sejak tahun 2014 oleh LPPM STIKes Karya Kesehatan dengan pISSN 2407-5515 dan eISSN 2749-990X. Frekuensi terbit JGI adalah tiga kali dalam setahun yaitu April, Agustus dan Desember. Artikel-artikel yang dimuat di Jurnal Gizi Ilmiah adalah artikel yang telah melalui proses penelaahan oleh mitra bestari (peer reviewers). Oleh karena itu, JGI terus mengundang para penulis untuk mempublikasikan artikel, terutama yang merupakan hasil-hasil penelitian kontemporer di bidang gizi.

Abstract

Nutritional education for the first 1000 days of life is an education that contains the preparation and improvement of nutrition from 270 days during pregnancy and the first 730 days of life since the baby is born. This study aims to determine effect of nutritional education on knowledge and attitudes about the First 1000 Days of Life in future bride in Abeli’s religious affairs office. This research is a type of pre-experimental, with a One Group Pre-Post Test design. The sample in this study were 39 female catin in the KUA working area of ​​Abeli ​​District which were obtained by sampling technique using the Slovin formula. The variables studied consisted of the dependent variable, namely knowledge and attitudes, and the independent variable, namely nutrition education in the first 1000 days of life. Data analysis using Wilcoxon (α = <0.05)The results of the research show that the p value of the knowledge and attitude variables is 0.000 < α (0.05 ). The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of nutritional education in the first 1000 days of life in knowledge and attitudes of future bride in Abeli’s religious affairs office.

Abstract

Dehydration is a condition when the body is lacking fluid. Dehydration can impair cognitive performance, memory skills, body endurance, and muscle strength. This research aimed to describe the prevalence of dehydration, the level of knowledge, fluid intake, and physical activity among adolescents in Surabaya. We involved 66 students aged 12-15 years old from grade VII and VIII Junior High School Muhammadiyah 4 Gadung Surabaya. Subjects were interviewed to assess their knowledge level, physical activity level (PAL), and mean water intake. Dehydration status was measured by comparing subjects’ urine color to a chart developed by Armstrong. An independent t-test was performed to see the difference in mean water intake between subjects according to their knowledge level and gender. We found that 79% of the subjects still have low knowledge regarding the importance of hydration, 97% of subjects are physically inactive, 67% consume water less than their needs, and 67% of them are dehydrated. We did not find any significant difference in knowledge level, water intake, and PAL among dehydrated and non-dehydrated groups. Most of the subjects are dehydrated and have a lower knowledge level regarding hydration. It is necessary to educate adolescents through school channels to improve their knowledge and water intake.

Abstract

Wanita usia subur (WUS) adalah wanita usia produktif antara usia 15 dan 49 tahun, pada usia ini umumnya cenderung berpotensi memiliki seorang anak. Usia merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi keinginan menikah WUS. Perikahan usia dini adalah pernikahan yang dilakukan secara sah oleh seseorang yang memiliki persiapan dan kedewasaan yang belum memadai, sehingga hal ini merupakan suatu keprihatinan dan membawa banyak risiko yang berkaitan dengan masalah kesehatan. Salah satu masalah kesehatan yang terkait dengan pernikahan usia dini adalah kehamilan dan persalinan dini. Usia saat pertama kali menikah adalah salah satu faktor kunci yang mempengaruhi kesuburan, yang berdampak jangka panjang dapat menyebabkan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak gagal stunting. Stunting adalah kegagalan tumbuh kembang yang disebabkan oleh malnutrisi berulang yang berhubungan dengan asupan makanan kronis. Metode penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain observational. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap wanita usia subur (WUS) dan balita di wilayah kelurahan Mekarsari, yang datang ke Pos Pelayanan Terpadu (Posyandu) yang balita nya sudah terdaftar dan memiliki buku KIA. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 80 orang. Pengukuran pengetahuan gizi WUS berdasarkan hasil pengisian kuesioner untuk wanita usia subur (WUS) dan pengukuran indeks z score untuk status gizi bayi dan balita. Data dianalisis dengan uji univariat dan uji bivariat menggunakan uji Spearman rank. Hasil dari penilitian ini menunjukkan terdapat hubungan usia pernikahan WUS terhadap status gizi balita (p 0,000) dan terdapat hubungan pengetahuan gizi WUS terhadap status gizi balita (p 0,006). Penundaan usia menikah dini sebaiknya perlu dilakukan, karena pernikahan pada usia dini memiliki kecenderungan berstatus gizi pendek atau gizi kurang pada anak yang dilahirkan.

Abstract

Complementary food of breast milk which fed earlier on infants causes health problems. There will be short-term or long-term effects. The data from Tiworo Kepulauan health center was 93% infants have been fed early complementary food of breast milk. This study aimed to identify factors related to feeding early complementary food of breast milk. It’s a quantitative used cross sectional study. 110 mothers who have infants aged 6-12 months at Tiworo Kepulauan health center agreed to participate, and 52 people of them who were chosen by using Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling fully completed the questionnaires. The data was analyzed by using Fisher Exact test. Mother’s job was obtained with p value 0.78, mothers’ knowledge was obtained with p value 0.000, the quantity of breast milk with p value 0.78, social culture with p value 0.000, and family support with p value 0.000. Therefore, it concluded that mother’s knowledge, social culture, and family support were significantly correlated with feeding early complementary food of breast milk. Mother’s job and quantity of breast milk were not correlated with feeding early complementary food of breast milk at working area of Kepulauan Tiworo health center, district of Muna Barat. This study suggested for those health agencies to do health promotion regularly, such as conducting trainings about exclusive breast milk and recommending the infants should not be fed complementary food of breast milk before 6 months of age, mothers also need to improve their knowledge by looking various information related to complementary food of breast milk.

Abstract

Hypertension is a risk factor that has a lot of influence on the occurrence of blood vessels and heart disease. Compliance is the word used to define the patient's attitude in taking medication properly both in terms of dose, frequency and time. Knowledge is a process that results from curiosity through the senses, especially the eyes and ears to certain objects. Knowledge is the main area in the formation of behavior. This study aims to determine the relationship between Knowledge of Hypertension Diet and Diet Compliance in Hypertension Patients at the Wundulako Health Center. This type of research is non-experimental research with a correlation study design (Correlation Study) is a design used in observing the significance of the relationship between 2 variables. This study used a population of 30 people who were treated at the work of the Wundulako Health Center, Kolaka Regency who were identified with a specific purpose or by purposive sampling. The variable of this research is the dependent variable, namely Hypertension Diet Compliance, and the independent variable is the knowledge of hypertension sufferers. The analysis carried out in this study used the Chi-Square statistical test. Chi square test with a confidence level of 95% (α = 0.05) obtained a p value (0.011) <α (0.05) so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between knowledge of hypertension diet and dietary compliance in hypertension sufferers at the Wundulako Health Center.

Abstract

Hypercholesterolemia is a condition of elevated cholesterol levels in the blood that exceeds the normal limit, which is 240 mg / dl. Hypercholesterolemia cano beotreatedbwith pharmacologicalnandnnon-pharmacologicalnntherapies. Pharmacologicalm therapy of hypercholesterolemia can be carried out by taking cholesterol-lowering drugs. However, taking cholesterol-lowering drugs in the long term can cause adverse effects on the body, which can aggravate the work of the kidneys, myopathy, liver damage, and kidney failure. So that non-pharmacological therapy or traditional medicine is needed in reducing cholesterol levels, one of which is by consuming star fruit juice. This study aims to determine the effect of star fruit juice on decreasing cholesterol levels in hypercholesterolemia patients. The design used in this study is aopre-experimentalmdesign. By using the onengroupnpretestlposttestmapproach. The results of the statistical test using the Paired T Test obtained a p value of 0.000 (sig > 0.050) meaningnthatnHIi waslaccepted and H0 was rejected. In conclusion, there is an influence of star fruit juice on reducing cholesterol levels in hypercholesterolemia patients in the Kabawo Health Center Working Area, Muna Regency. Advice is expected for health workers to apply non-pharmacological therapy, especially the use ofo sta fruitojuice as aodecrease inm cholesterol levels in people with hypercholesterolemia
