Abstract

Restricted sodium intake can prevent an increase in blood pressure and increased potassium can lower blood pressure. Porang tubers contain glucomannan which can bind bile salts and stimulate the formation of new bile salts, thus lowering blood pressure. This study aims to determine the quality of micro minerals and sensory snack bar tempo. This research method is pre-experiment with post-test group design. Sodium and potassium levels were analysed by spectrophotometric method. Sensory quality was assessed based on the acceptability test on 30 panellists. Sodium and potassium data were analysed with one-way anova test and sensory quality data were tested with kruskall wallis and if there was a difference, continued with man whitney test. The results showed that the lowest sodium level of tempo snack bar was at 5% concentration of 17.55 mg/100 g and the highest potassium level was at 2.5% concentration of 0.37 mg/100 g of tempo snack bar. The sensory quality of the tempo snack bar from the aspect of the most preferred colour is the concentration of 2.5% (17.5 grams), the aroma aspect is 7.5% (35 grams), the texture aspect is 7.5% (35 grams) and the taste aspect is 7.5% (35 grams) so that the average acceptability of the most preferred tempo snack bar is the concentration of 7.5% (35 grams). The conclusion of this study is that the tempo snack bar that has the best micro-mineral and sensory quality and is acceptable is the 7.5% concentration tempo snack bar. Hypertension patients can consume tempo snack bar as much as 7 pieces (140 g)/day to fulfil the need for snacks.

Abstract

Milk is the liquid secreted by female mammals such as cows, buffaloes, horses, goats, sheep and other milk-producing livestock. Indonesian FDA classifies milk into liquid milk, milk drinks and drinks containing milk. The level of milk consumption among Indonesian people is still lower than Vietnam and Malaysia. To increase milk intake, milk is added with flavors and sugar to make it more palatable. However, the added sugar content in milk causes significant contribution to daily carbohydrate and energy intake. This research aims to examine the nutritional content of sugar, lactose and sucrose in sterile milk products, namely liquid milk, milk drinks and milk-containing drink registered by Indonesia FDA. A total of 156 sterile milk products were taken as research samples and the total sugar, lactose and sucrose content as listed in the nutritional value information was assessed. Plain liquid milk has the lowest total sugar content (4.14 ± 0.91 g/100 ml), significantly different (p = 0.0005) compared to flavored milk (8.85 ± 1.35 g/100 ml), flavored milk drinks (9.04 ± 1.44 g/ 100 ml) and flavored milk-containing drinks (8.31 ± 0.97 g/100 ml). Lactose content of plain liquid milk (4.12 ± 1.32 g/100 ml), was significantly different (p = 0.0005) compared to flavored milk (3.85 ± 0.64 g/100 ml), flavored milk drinks (3.72 ± 1.05 g/100 ml) and flavored milk-containing drinks (3.09 ± 0.31 g/100 ml). sucrose content of plain liquid milk (0 g/100 ml) is significantly different because there is no addition of sucrose. Sucrose content of flavored milk (5.1 ± 1.14 g/100 ml), flavored milk drinks (5.23 ± 1.16 g/100 ml) and and flavored milk-containing drinks (4.93 ± 0.69 g/100 ml) were not significantly different (p=0.766). Due to the high intake of added sugars from flavored milk products, several policies need to be proposed to reduce added sugar intake, including the use of high-intensity sweeteners or product reformulation to reduce added sugar content.

Abstract

Diabetic nephropathy is a complication that occurs in Diabetes Mellitus (DM) sufferers which is characterized by a decrease in kidney function. Current laboratory examination biomarkers to determine the condition of kidney function that are often carried out in the laboratory include examination of urea, creatinine, and urine protein. One way that can be done to determine blood glucose control is through HbA1c examination. This study aims to see the correlation between the results of kidney function biomarker examinations (urea, creatinine, and urine protein) in DM sufferers in terms of length of suffering (<5 years, 5-10 years, 11-16 years, and >16 years), as well as the results HbA1c examination. This research uses a correlative research method with an approach cross sectional analytically, the number of samples was 90 samples that met the research inclusion criteria. Sample collection and examination was carried out at the Clinical Pathology Laboratory of Hasanuddin University Hospital, Makassar from 8 to 15 May 2023. The research results showed that there was a significant relationship between the results of urine protein examination with a value of p=0.018 (p<0.05) and the duration of suffering and the results of the HbA1c examination in DM sufferers, and there was no significant relationship between the results of the urea examination p=0.352 (p>0.05) and creatinine p=0.116 (p>0.05) with the length of suffering and the results of the HbA1c examination in DM sufferers, so it can be concluded that urine protein is a potential biomarker in laboratory examinations to see the risk of complications of kidney damage in DM sufferers. It is recommended that DM sufferers carry out regular kidney function checks to reduce the risk of complications in the long term. Keywords: Creatinine, Diabetes Mellitus, HbA1c, Urea, Urine Protein

Abstract

HIV/AIDS is currently still a major global public health challenge, including in Indonesia, especially in the city of Bogor. Surveillance is very important as an early warning of potential threats to public health and monitoring functions for specific disease programs. HIV data in Bogor City illustrates efforts to achieve HIV AIDS elimination which has been agreed at the global level that in 2030 it could reach 95-95-95 for treatment, where 95% of PLWHA know the status, 95% of PLWHA who know the status get treatment, and 95 % of people living with HIV who were treated for virus suppression is still far from the expected target. This study aims to obtain an overview of the implementation of the HIV surveillance system in Bogor City in 2021.The study design in this research is descriptive observational to describe the surveillance system based on the components and attributes of the surveillance system. Data collection was carried out by interviewing HIV program managers at puskesmas, hospitals, and the Bogor City health office using a structured questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and the results were compared with achievement of HIV surveillance indicators. The results of the analysis are presented in the form of tables, graphs, pictures and narratives. The evaluation showed that the main functional components, supporting functions, and attributes of the HIV surveillance system in Bogor City were not optimal so that the indicators for PLHIV receiving ARV treatment (27.7%) and HIV suppression (57.3%) were not achieved. ) which is an effort to accelerate the fast track towards ending the AIDS epidemic in 2030.he HIV surveillance system is not yet optimal due to limited resource capabilities including the provision of services capable of testing and treatment as well as the competence of officers, for this reason it is necessary to strive for all hospitals and health centers in Bogor City to become services capable of standard HIV testing and treatment so as to expand community access to services screening, diagnostics and treatment, the need to increase the capacity of officers in providing quality services and supported by strengthening cross-sectoral commitment and program management. Abstract

Changes in peripheral tissue perfusion in diabetic wounds are important because they can affect the wound healing process, increase the risk of infection, and inhibit healing in individuals with diabetes. This study aims to describe a nursing intervention for increased peripheral tissue perfusion in type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) patients with leg wound complications. This study is a case report of nursing intervention. DM patients treated in the general wound care room of a hospital in Makassar 13 – 17 May 2023. This study found impaired peripheral tissue perfusion as a result of damage to blood vessels (angiopathy), especially to capillaries. In addition, neuropathy or nerve damage in diabetes can also affect the regulation of blood flow to the extremities (such as the feet) which can interfere with the body's mechanism of responding to changes in blood flow. We implement professional treatment strategies to improve tissue perfusion through controlling blood sugar within normal ranges to prevent vascular damage, measuring blood pressure, controlling blood pressure to remain stable to protect blood vessels, adequate hydration to ensure patients are well hydrated to maintain smooth blood flow, Regular exercise through regular physical activity to improve blood flow and help repair condition of blood vessels, proper wound care by cleaning and treating wounds periodically to prevent infection and accelerate healing.

Abstract

Early detection plays a role in reducing maternal mortality and is very important. Morbidity and mortality of pregnant women can be prevented if pregnant women themselves are able to recognize the danger signs of pregnancy such as preeclampsia and try to seek help in health facilities, appropriate actions can prevent pregnant women from causing maternal death. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the smart card education model of early detection of preeclampsia risk (dedi raisa) on increasing the knowledge of pregnant women. This study used a "quasi-experiment" design with a "Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design" approach. This study involved 90 pregnant women who checked their pregnancy at Kassi - Kassi Health Center and Bara - Baraya Health Center Makassar from August to October 2023. Samples were selected through purposive sampling technique. Statistical analysis used in this study is the Wilcoxon test. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon statistical test, the p value = 0.000 indicates that education using the smart card model is effective in increasing the knowledge of pregnant women regarding early detection of preeclampsia risk. From the pre-test results, most of the pregnant women respondents did not know well about early detection of preeclampsia that could occur in pregnant women. This shows that information about preeclampsia and how to do early detection, has not been widely understood by pregnant women in the Kassi - Kassi health center area and the Bara - Baraya Makassar health center, after providing education with the Dedi Raisa Smart Card method and conducting a post test, there was an increase in the knowledge of pregnant women related to early detection of preeclampsia.
