Abstract

Wrinkles on the face are one of the processes of aging factors. The thinning of the collagen and elastin layers on the skin causes facial wrinkles. The wrinkles are due to a lack of thickness of the dermis layer of as much as 20%, which is associated with the loss of elastin and collagen fibers. This study uses the pre-experimental design with the pretest-posttest control group design method. The research was conducted from October 2018 to April 2019 in Dangkrang Environment, Purwantoro, Wonogiri. The study used a sample of 40 subjects meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria divided into two groups (n = 20). Group I was treated with point acupuncture therapy LI 4 (Hegu), LU 7 (Lieque), and face massage. The Mann-Whitney U Test statistics obtained a p-value of 0.001. The results showed significant differences in changes in the face area between the two groups. Point acupuncture therapy LI 4 (Hegu), LU 7 (Lieque), and facial massage are more effective in reducing the scale of wrinkles on the face in the Dangkrang, Purwantoro, Wonogiri surroundings.

This research is a Quasy experiment with pretest and posttest design. The sample in this study was final year students at STIKes Cirebon, which was 43 students.T-test dependent or Paired Sample T-test can be known the level of significance in reducing student stress levels. The results of the Paired Sample T-test on the pretest and postest obtained a value of ρ <0.000, so there is an influence of hypnopuncture on stress in final year STIKes Cirebon students. Hypnopuncture therapy using a combination of hypnosis and acupuncture affects stress in final year STIKes Cirebon students.

Abstract

Hypertension is the second highest cause of death in Indonesia (25.8%) in outpatients. Acupuncture has been used to treat various diseases including hypertension. The purpose of this study was to determine the acupuncture’s effect of PC6 and LV3 combined with YNSA Ypsilon HT and LV points in cases of essential hypertension (ICD 10: I10) grade I, II. The study was conducted in Ngargorejo, Ngemplak, Boyolali from October 2018 to March 2019 using a design (RCT) or randomized experiment with 33 subjects, divided into experimental groups (17 people) and control groups (16 people) with SRS  as a sampling technique. Mann-Whitney obtained p <0.05, which means that there was an acupuncture effect of PC6 and LV3 combined with YNSA Ypsilon HT and LV on blood pressure reduction. The systolic pressure was p <0.05 and the diastolic pressure was p> 0.05 in the control group. While the experimental group's systolic and diastolic pressures were p <0.05. It can conclude that PC6 and LV3 combined with YNSA Ypsilon HT and LV points had more effect on systolic and diastolic pressure reduction than sham acupuncture which only affected systolic pressure reduction with short-term effects.

Abstract

Knee pain is a musculoskeletal disorder characterized by degenerative joint disease due to damage to the joint cartilage and bone spur growth. This condition causes knee joints to feel painful, swollen, and stiff. Acupuncture therapy and cupping therapy can alleviate knee pain complaints through stimulation at acupuncture points. Acupuncture therapy can provide analgesic effects to reduce pain, and dry cupping therapy can relax muscle tension and improve blood flow, thus reducing pain. By reducing pain, it is expected to provide comfort for knee pain sufferers. This study used a pre-experimental design with a two-group pretest-posttest design. The study was conducted from October 2021 to April 2022 in Jabung Village, Jabung Wetan Hamlet, Gantiwarno, Klaten. The study involved a sample of 32 subjects who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, divided into 2 groups: acupuncture therapy and dry cupping therapy. The Mann-Whitney test result was 0.049, which means ρ < 0.05, indicating that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, indicating an influence of acupuncture therapy and dry cupping therapy on reducing knee pain scale in Jabung Village, Gantiwarno, Klaten. The mean rank of knee pain scale reduction for acupuncture therapy was 19.59 and for dry cupping therapy was 13.41, indicating that acupuncture therapy has a greater effect on reducing knee pain scale. There is an influence of acupuncture therapy and dry cupping therapy on reducing knee pain scale in Jabung Village, Gantiwarno, Klaten, but acupuncture therapy has a greater effect on reducing knee pain scale.

Management of post-stroke speech disorders by electroacupuncture methods at Tiantu (CV 22), Lianquan (CV 23), Dicang (ST 4), Jianche (ST 6), Hegu (LI 4), Tongli (HT 5), (SP 6), Taixi (KI 3), Xingjian (LV 2), Taichong (LV 3) and additional therapy using scalp acupuncture. The principle of therapy in this case is to strengthen Yin, calm the Heart, and improve the circulation of Qi and blood. Therapy is carried out in as many as 6 therapy sessions. The result measurement indicator uses the Barthel Index form.
