Abstract

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has a very diverse clinical presentation ranging from asymptomatic, mild, moderate to severe symptoms and even death. The increase in the number of cases took place quite quickly and spread in a short time. The current COVID-19 pandemic has major consequences for healthcare services. Strict adherence to the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and environmental hygiene improves safety and prevents virus transmission. Postoperative management is an important phase for patients with suspected/confirmed COVID-19 because it can be associated with slower recovery, a longer length of stay, and more complications. Surgeons, nurses, and medical staff have equal responsibilities in postoperative management. Postoperative consultations can be carried out via telemedicine to perform follow-up surgery on patients with clinical COVID-19. The use of telemedicine-based services prevents the risk of potential exposure to medical personnel. Taking the recommended steps in general surgical services can optimize the health services provided to confirmed COVID-19 patients and reduce the risk of occupational transmission to other patients and health professionals

Abstract

Basic Health Research Data 2019 explains that breast cancer prevalence that occurs in Indonesia is the second malignancy phenomenon that often afflicts women with a percentage of 0.5%, and ranked first cervical cancer as much as 0.8%. To choose and predict the prognosis, immunohistochemical examination becomes part of the mandatory examination effort. The general purpose of this study is to test the relationship of grading histopathology and histopathology types with the results of the HER-2 immunohistochemical examination of breast cancer patients at Dr. Pirngadi Medan Hospital in 2018-2019. This type of research is observational analytics conducted using the Cross- Sectional method. Secondary research data in the form of breast cancer patients in the Anatomical Pathology section of Dr. Pirngadi Medan Hospital year 2018-2019. How to take a sample by total sampling method. The statistical test used in the study is the Chi-square test. The study found 66 cases. Breast cancer cases are most common in the age range between 40 to 49 years (43.9%). The most common stages are in stage III (53.0%). This type of histopathology is found in invasive ductal carcinoma (84.8%). The most histopathological grading was grade II (63.6%). HER-2 test results found that the majority of patients had HER-2 +3 (positive 3) (59.1%). As for the Chi-Square test, if p ≤ 0.05 found a significant association and if p ≥ 0.05 did not have a significant association. There is no significant association between the type of histopathology and the results of HER-2 immunohistochemical examination (p = 0.208) and there is no significant association between grading histopathology results of HER-2 immunohistochemical examination (p = 0.492).

Abstract

Background: A mask is a protective device that covers the mouth and nose to minimize direct transmission of infectious agents according to relevant standards. The use of masks is a fundamental non-pharmacological intervention and has proven to be effective as a barrier to transmission of viruses that cause several respiratory diseases, one of which is Coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The use of masks has been shown to have a significant protective effect, and is effective in reducing the risk and cases of COVID-19 infection. In addition to having a positive impact, the use of masks as one of the personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent transmission and infection of COVID-19, also has a negative impact, because it causes several changes in the skin that will increase the occurrence of problems on the skin, especially in areas covered by mask. Objective: To determine the effect of the duration of using masks during the COVID-19 pandemic with the incidence of acne among students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra (FK UMSU) batch 2018. Methods: Analytical with cross sectional study approach, sampling method using purposive sampling technique. The data of this study were obtained from primary data using a questionnaire instrument and facial physical examination. Data analysis using Chi Square Fisher Exact test. Results: The results showed that the duration of using a mask for onethree hours, foureight hours, and more than eight hours was associated with the incidence of acne in FK UMSU students batch 2018 sequentially on 30 respondents (85.7%), 34 respondents ( 94.4%), and to 4 respondents (80%). The results of the bivariate analysis between the length of use of masks and the incidence of acne in FK UMSU students class 2018 was p = 0.260 (P0.05). Conclusion: There is no significant effect between the duration of using a mask and the incidence of acne in the 2018 UMSU Medical Faculty students.
