Abstract

Abstract Seaweed Eucheuma sp. is one of the natural resources of Indonesia. Seaweed many processed in dry form after going through a drying process or processed into food ready for consumption. Seaweed is no longer just eaten or used to direct treatment, but can be processed into jelly, Algin, carrageenan (carrageenan) and furselaran (furcellaran) which is an important raw material in the food industry, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and so on. This plant has an important economic value in various industries such as pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food, textile and paper industries. This study aims to determine the Fixer solution of Tawas, Poly Aluminium Chloride and Kapur Tohor most effective at biopigmen Eucheuma sp. instead of synthetic dyes in textile and determine the best concentration of the solution Fixer Tawas, Poly Aluminium Chloride and Tohor in deciding the color biopigmen Eucheuma sp. instead of synthetic dyes in textiles. This study uses a randomized block design (RAK). This research was conducted by observing and comparing the effect Fixer solution between Tawas, Poly Aluminium Chloride and Kapur Tohor against staining quality biopigmen seaweed Eucheuma sp. instead of synthetic dyes in textiles. Organoleptic test results showed fixation material Poly Aluminium Chloride able to maintain better color than the color produced by the fixation Tawas and Kapur Tohor. Poly Aluminium Chloride fixation material produces a bright brown color, Tawas brown, reddish brown Tohor. The test results of color fastness to rubbing cloth (dry) indicates that the color fastness of the strongest to the weakest sequentially generated from Tawas fixation materials, lime Tohor, Poly Aluminium Chloride, while the test fastness to washing soap and desecration of white cloth from the strongest to The weakest is Poly Aluminium Chloride, Kapur Tohor and Tawas.

Abstract

Abstract Koi fish (Cyprinus carpio L.) is high economical fish and has some type of color and pattern on its body. Koi fish (C. carpio L.) is particularly prone to unstable water quality so the fish with prime condition is very limited. To get the fish with the prime condition required several supporting factors such as the genetic, environment and nutritional feed. In this research the used of red pepper (Capsicum annuum) juice as an additional ingredient in fish feed. The aim of this research is to know about the influence of additional red pepper juice (C. annuum) to the brightness of the color of koi fish (C. carpio L.) and the optimal concentration. There are six treatment used in this research, which are treatment A just given by pelet as a control, B treatment is adding red pepper juice by concentration of 1%, C by concentration of 3% and D by concentration of 5%. E treatment is adding carrot juice by concentrations of 4.5% and F treatment is adding astaxanthin by concentration of 1%. Each treatment given to fish with the level of color brightness that has score 2. The result of color scoring tested by experiment description method that in the end of research on A treatment (control) didn't increase with the same score 2. B treatment (red pepper 1%) increased from score 2 to score 3 started from day 28. C treatment (red pepper 3%) increased from score 2 to score 3 started from day 21. D treatment (red pepper 5%) increased from score 2 to score 4 started from day 21. E treatment (carrot 4,5%) increased from score 2 to score 4 started from day 28. Abstract

Abstract Red tilapia fish (Oreochromis niloticus) is one of the mainstays of the freshwater fishery which is growing rapidly in Indonesia. The production of red tilapia fish fishery experiences a significant increase from year after year which amounting from 567.078 tons in 2011 to become 695.063 tons in 2012 and 909.016 tons in 2013 ( Directorate General of Aquaculture – Ministry of Marine and Fishery, 2014). The development of red tilapia fish farming were not experiences many issues, but there is one problem that needs to be concern which is about feed problem, the feed that used in aquaculture activities is determine the production costs up to 60-70% of the total production cost incurred (Jusadi et al., 2004). Fish farming business are strongly influenced by the availability of sufficient fodder in numbers and quality to support the growth and life sustainability of fish cultivation. Feed plays an important part for the growth of the fish (Wahyudi, 2010). The feed can increase the quality of fish weight with addition of a feed additive. One of the alternatives that can be take is by adding probiotic (Anggraeni, 2012) and herbal ingredients in feed (Ariyanto et al., 2013). Research results show that the addition of probiotics plus herbs affect the digestibility of protein retention and fat retention red tilapia. Based on the research that has been done, the addition of probiotics plus herbs with a dose of 2 ml / kg of feed can be used as artificial feed supplement and as an alternative to reduce the production cost of cultivation of red tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus).

Abstract

Abstract The main obstacles in successful production is the attack of a disease. Preventive measures in reducing disease one of them is by means an increase in immunity the body of fish use natural compound (Parelberg et al., 2005). One of the natural compound that can be used as obtaining the immune system fish are the vitamin C, iodine, tannin (Bachtiar, dkk., 2012) and polysaccharides and derivatives as fucoidan. (Castro et. al., 2006) which is in Sargassum sp. With the provision of extract Sargassum sp. in feed is expected to optimize the number of erythrocytes and differensial leukocytes (number of neutrophils , monocytes and lymphocytes) at african catfish (Clarias gariepinus) so that it may optimize immunity the body of fish (Brown, 2000). The result of the observation of the blood of fish test is the use of extract Sargassum sp. wich get mixed in feed with doses 5, 10 and 15 g/kilogram feed during 21 days impact on the number of erythrocytes and prosentase lymphocytes blood catfishes. In doses C (15 g extract/ kilogram feed) put a value erythrocytes highest in day 21 namely 16.84 ± 1.56 x 105 cells/mm3, and give prosentase lymphocytes highest in day 21 than those wich others are 86.00 ± 3.81 %. But in a post test, B and C not seen the real difference between treatment. While for statistics the addition of extract not indicates the influence of real to the percentage neutrophils and monocytes of the blood fish. So that it can be said that addition extract Sargassum sp. with doses 15 g extract/kilogram feed give the effectiveness of the optimal response immune system than second doses other.

Abstract

Abstract  Tilapia is a fish that has high economic value and is an important commodity in the business world of freshwater fish. Some of the things that support the importance of commodities tilapia, among others, have a relatively high resistance to disease, have a wide tolerance to environmental conditions, has the ability to grow well and can thrive well in intensive farming systems. Feeding efficiency can reduce production costs, but still has the required nutritional value of fish is an alternative that should be pursued. Several methods are used to improve feed efficiency, including optimizing digestion and absorption of food and increase the efficiency of the protein with the addition of digestive enzymes. There are two types of digestive enzymes in the enzyme or enzymes endogeneous eksogeneous to help accelerate the process of digestion and hydrolysis. One eksogeneous enzyme is an enzyme papain. The purpose of this study is to analyze the improvement of the efficiency of feed utilization, increasing and enhancing the protein efficiency ratio relative to the growth rate of tilapia due to the addition of papaya leaf powder. The method used is a method laboratory experiments. While the research design used in this research is completely randomized design (CRD), with all the factors conditioning the same and homogeneous, except for the treatment factor. Treatments consisted of 3 treatments and repeated each 6 replications, namely: A1: treatment of feeding with powdered papaya leaves 2%, A2: treatment of feeding with powdered papaya leaves 3%, A3: treatment of feeding with powdered leaves of papaya 4% and C: feeding without addition of the enzyme papain (control). The main parameters in this study is the efficiency of feed utilization, protein efficiency ratio of the feed rate relative pertumhuhan on tilapia, fish protein in meat and fish meat thickness. Fish feed without the addition of the enzyme papain proximate tested. Once given the addition of papaya leaf powder, tested proximate feed back. The amount of feed intake was calculated by weighing the amount of feed that has been consumed during treatment (30 days). The research result analysis showed that papaya leaf powder addition of as much as 2% can improve the efficiency of feed utilization in tilapia fish farming amounted to 36.65%, can increase the protein efficiency ratio amounted to 0.55%, could increase the growth rate relative to the cultivation of tilapia by 2,725% , can increase the protein content in the flesh of tilapia by 17.98%. As for the treatment of papaya leaf powder addition of as much as 3% can increase the thickness of the flesh of tilapia by 38.09%
