South Kalimantan Province is one of the provinces that has the largest number of rivers; namely, there are 58 rivers. The river has a strategic role for the people of South Kalimantan as a natural resource that can support various activities. Watershed management is intended as an effort to plan and evaluate the conservation of river resources. Using rivers, including tourism, can have a multiplier effect on the regional economy. Abstract

The leading sector is essential for regional economic growth. This study aims to determine how the tourism sector contributes to the GRDP of Raja Ampat Regency and whether the tourism sector in Raja Ampat Regency is a leading sector. The data used in this study are GRDP data from the business field in Raja Ampat Regency in 2014-2018. The method used in this research is Location Quotient (LQ). The results of the LQ analysis show that the tourism sector in Raja Ampat Regency is not a leading sector. In improving the tourism sector, the leading sector is dynamic, so it can change every year. Changes from non-leading to leading sectors can be stimulated by the development of supporting infrastructure in the form of increased human resources and accessibility to these tourist areas.

Abstract

Education is essential in improving the quality of human capital and social equity in income. However, the critical role of education still needs to be matched by equal access to education for all people in every region. The research wanted to determine education inequality in 34 Indonesian provinces from 2015 to 2019. This research also identified whether or not there was an influence between education funds, education infrastructure, and the average income level on the education gini. The results obtained show that there is a high educational disparity between the western and eastern regions of Indonesia. Using the Panel Least Square (PLS) technique, the results show that education funding and infrastructure have a negative and significant relationship. Meanwhile, the income variable has a positive relationship, but the results are insignificant.

Abstract

The use of coal has increased due to the increasing use of electricity for human activities. On the other hand, action is needed to prevent the adverse effects of coal, namely greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions which result in increasingly warmer temperatures and cause climate change. This study aims to describe the advantages and disadvantages of using coal as the main energy resource. Because coal isn’t environmental-friendly, actions that can be taken to prevent climate change or reduce GHG emissions are to mitigate the energy sector by using new, renewable energy. Meanwhile, using new renewable energy sources is still accompanied by several challenges, so coal cannot replace the efficiency and effectiveness of coal as an energy resource. In the end, the transition from fossil energy to environmentally friendly energy is a long process achieved through the right direction of development plans and support from all parties.

This study aims to find the effect of monetary policy on inflation through the bank lending channel. This research uses path analysis as a research method with dummy variables to show differences before the pandemic and during the pandemic. The study shows that monetary policy in influencing inflation needs to be through intermediate or intervening variables, especially before the pandemic, namely through PUAB variables, credit interest rates and bank reserves. Research also shows that PUAB and interest rates significantly affect inflation, while bank reserves do not. During the pandemic period, only the PUAB had a significant effect on inflation.

Abstract

Crises most often occur due to the procyclicality of asset prices, bank credit, and foreign capital flows. The existence of macroprudential policies is expected to mitigate the occurrence of a crisis. This literature review discusses macroprudential policy instruments that can mitigate the procyclicality of credit booms, asset bubbles, and the procyclicality of capital flows in developing countries. Using metaanalysis, we reviewed the five works of literature for each procyclicality. The results show that LTV is the most frequently chosen instrument and is effective in mitigating the three risks of procyclicality. CCB instruments can mitigate credit booms, and DTI can withstand asset price spikes. In addition, the reserve requirements and capital requirements instruments are considered effective in overcoming the procyclicality of capital flows. It can be concluded that the policy is the right choice for mitigating a crisis.
