Abstract

After the implementation of halal product assurance (HPA) became a public policy, the assurance for halal pharmaceutical products is a must. However, the implementation has been relaxed for several years. This shows that the policy implementation is complicated. This study aimed to analyze and evaluate the implementation process of the HPA policy for pharmaceutical products in Indonesia. We applied Van Meter Van Horn’s theory using the qualitative method through in-depth interviews with eight informants and a review ten documents. The result shows that the implementation is going well but is still not optimal, especially from the point of view regarding halal certification for pharmaceutical products. The main obstacle for business actors in this implementation is obtaining halal raw materials because most of them are still imported. Moreover, a lack of massive socialization and education have also appeared. All stakeholders involved should improve performance according to their respective duties to implement better when the obligation has begun.

Abstract

The first case of COVID-19 in Indonesia was announced by the President on March 2, 2020. As of June 22, 2022, the cumulative number of confirmed positive cases in Indonesia is 6,072,918 cases, with 5,904,825 recoveries and 156,702 deaths. In response to this case, the government made a policy starting with Large-Scale Social Restrictions contained in Government Regulation Number 21 of 2020 until the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities based on levels (4, 3, 2, and 1) set by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The government's strategy to deal with this is through the 5M health protocol (wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, staying away from crowds, and reducing mobility), 3T (testing, tracing, treatment), and vaccinating. In this regard, an interesting condition occurs in the Baduy tribe in Kanekes Village, Lebak Regency, Banten. The Cisimeut Health Center which oversees the Kanekes Village area noted that so far there have been no reports of positive cases in the village. The results of the PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal) and document review show that the combination of traditional strategies and modern strategies in accordance with government policies is carried out in the Baduy Tribe. The obedience of the Pu'un (Chief of the Tribe) to the government is an important factor in the success of this strategy.

Abstract

Currently, the world is experiencing a non-natural disaster, the COVID-19 pandemic. The Indonesian Government issued instructions for handling and controlling COVID-19 by implementing health protocols and vaccinations to reduce the rate of COVID-19 cases. The handling and control of COVID-19 are delivered by increasing public knowledge about COVID-19 through a risk communication approach. Pandeglang area, Banten, had the lowest dose one and two vaccination coverage rates in Banten Province in 2021. Implementing the risk communication policy needs to be considered in successfully handling and controlling COVID-19. This research is qualitative with case study type research. The method of collecting data is using in-depth interviews. In-depth interviews were conducted with four informants. The informants came from Pusdalops – PB BPBD Pandeglang Region, Health Promotion Division and Disease Prevention and Control Division, Pandeglang District Health Office. This study aims to analyze the implementation of risk communication policies carried out by BPBD and the Health Office in handling and controlling COVID-19 in the Pandeglang Region. The analysis results show that the risk communication policies' standards and targets are divided into clear communication action plans between BPBD and the Health Office. However, there was an obstacle in the availability of the program's budget. The budget was diverted for handling and controlling COVID-19 situations. In addition, the working period of the head of the organization is felt to be a barrier to inter-organizational relations because it takes time to adapt to re-coordinate with the new leader.

Abstract

The current COVID-19 pandemic has had various impacts on the world. The unpredictable spike in cases led to an explosion in patient numbers. The problem of limited treatment facilities forces patients to self- isolate at home. Along with technological advances, various facilities have also been created, one of which is telemedicine. This study aims to look at the role of telemedicine as a strategy for handling COVID-19 self-isolated patients in various countries. This study was conducted descriptively with a literature review. The search was carried out on articles published in Indonesian and English through Google Scholar, Pubmed, and Science Direct searches with the keywords COVID-19, home isolation, self-isolation, telemedicine, and telehealth. The search results obtained that the handling of COVID-19 patients in self-isolation with telemedicine is a solution to the need for monitoring patient health, where hospitals have difficulty being able to serve all patients who need hospitalization. It can be concluded that COVID-19 is a newly emerging disease, clinical symptoms and emergencies of each patient can certainly be different and difficult to predict. Telemedicine as a remote health service can be a means to facilitate clinical monitoring of patients during self-isolation. The implementation of telemedicine ensures the continuity of health services quite effectively and efficiently, the way telemedicine works helps protect patients and health workers from exposure to infection and reduces the burden on hospitals, so it is quite appropriate to be used as a strategy in handling if there is a spike in COVID-19 cases in the future or application to other similar circumstances.

Abstract

The Indonesian Minister of Health 2019 issued regulations regarding the implementation of telemedicine services between health service facilities. Telemedicine is aimed primarily at rural areas. This research aims to look at the quality of telemedicine-based services, which are documented in an electronic health record (EHR) with complete information. This research uses the narrative literature review method: Garuda journal channels, Google Scholar, IEEE Explorer, ProQuest, PubMed, Science Direct, and Scopus. With the input-output process approach, eight scientific articles were published on countries with telemedicine/telehealth policies in rural areas. The implementation of telemedicine has advantages and disadvantages depending on the things supported and the target users. It must have policies, infrastructure, financial resources, and human resources to use, maintain and develop telemedicine. Telemedicine will help the health service process by increasing the degree of public health in rural areas if it is used on a large scale. The completeness of the EHR seems to be lacking in terms of informed consent. Still, a quality EHR can make it easier for health workers to enforce the history, establish the diagnosis, and provide patient healthcare.
