Abstract

Aren Sugar is one of the sweeteners that have been produced by the Indonesian people for a long time. Sugar is an alternative food ingredient and is a side livelihood for some people and has become a micro-enterprise in Batu Mila Village. The purpose of making Aren Sugar business video content is as promotional media because Aren Sugar marketing in Batu Mila Village does not yet have such a wide reach. The Aren Sugar business video content will then be uploaded via YouTube so that with the Aren Sugar production video content it can be better known by the wider community and Aren Sugar marketing will continue to grow. It is suggested the a need for the formation of farmer groups with the aim of uniformity in the market price of Aren Sugar. So that Aren Sugar products can be sold in the modern market.

Abstract

Community service activities in the Maron Community Health Center Work Area, Probolinggo Regency, were carried out using an educational model approach and the formation of an Association for Diabetes Mellitus Sufferers (PAGUDEM). This activity aims to provide a better understanding to Diabetes Mellitus sufferers and the general public about how to overcome problems related to Diabetes Mellitus, carry out early detection, and control disability and the increase in Diabetes Mellitus sufferers. The findings of this activity are consistent with previous research which shows the effectiveness of the community model approach and diabetes education in preventing disability due to diabetes mellitus. Apart from that, this activity also has a positive impact on health, social, economic, as well as cultural and environmental aspects. Changes in people's attitudes and behavior regarding Diabetes Mellitus are also visible, where they become more aware of the importance of preventing and managing this disease, and are more proactive in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Thus, this service activity not only provides direct benefits for Diabetes Mellitus sufferers but has also brought positive changes in the way people think and act regarding this condition.

Abstract

To increase the resilience of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) amidst the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Development Study Program at Muhammadiyah University Parepare has carried out assistance in Cilellang Village, Mallusetasi District, Barru Regency. The main focus is on the traditional cake service sector. This assistance introduces innovation and production efficiency through training in machine use and online marketing strategies. Program evaluation shows positive results with increased marketing understanding and technology adoption by MSME players. The most striking impact is the increase in cake production efficiency thanks to the use of machines and market expansion through online marketing. Thus, this assistance not only overcomes marketing obstacles in the pandemic but also opens up opportunities for local economic growth.

Abstract

Yogurt is a fresh and healthful fermented milk drink. This drink is made by a pasteurization process to eliminate pathogen bacteria in milk. The process was followed by a fermentation process with the help of Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus bacteria. The conventional pasteurization and fermentation process take a relatively long time, where the pasteurization process takes 15 minutes and the fermentation process takes 48 hours. In addition to the long process, the thermal pasteurization process can decrease the taste, color, and nutritional content of milk. The purpose of this research is to create a tool that can speed up the manufacture of yogurt without reducing the nutritional content of milk. ZYOFIELD is a tool that combines a Pulsed electric field (PEF) with an automatic fermentation system. PEF becomes a new method of milk pasteurization without the addition of heat, where the process temperature is 25o C so it may not reduce the important content in milk. This method utilizes an electric shock with a voltage of 20-80 kV to inactivate the pathogen bacteria within a short time of 5 minutes. ZYOFIELD is integrated with a controlled fermentation system where the fermentation temperature is maintained at 40-45° C, where at this temperature the fermentation process becomes optimum for 6 hours. The temperature on the fermentor is controlled by a fuzzy logic intelligent control system to regulate the temperature of the fermentation.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship development among students has an important role in increasing creativity, innovation, and economic independence. The background to the importance of entrepreneurship for students is highlighted as a response to challenges in an increasingly competitive world of work and the increasing need for economic independence. The structured implementation method is described, including tenant recruitment patterns, approaches to selecting prospective participants, as well as the entrepreneurship training methods applied. The results of entrepreneurship development activities include the formation of selected student business groups (tenants), the implementation of entrepreneurship training, and a positive impact on students' mindsets and abilities in generating business. In its implementation, various effective strategies have been implemented to overcome obstacles such as limited resources, differences in background and knowledge, as well as technical and technological obstacles. Entrepreneurship development activities have succeeded in making a significant contribution to shaping the entrepreneurial spirit and economic independence of students. Even though faced with various obstacles, appropriate mitigation efforts have produced positive impacts that can be seen from the formation of student business groups, changes in mindset, and increased students' ability to generate business. The next steps need to focus on strengthening and expanding the program to broaden its positive impact and maintain the sustainability of student entrepreneurial initiatives.

Abstract

Degenerative chronic diseases, especially diabetes mellitus and hypertension, are a major concern in Indonesia, especially in East Java Province. In Probolinggo Regency, especially in Wonorejo Village, Maron, the number of cases of chronic degenerative diseases among the elderly is very high. To overcome this problem, community service activities were carried out by implementing research in the field gerontiki nursing and Posyandu management. Activity methods include lectures, healthy food demonstrations, blood pressure measurements, and simulations on managing Posyandu for the elderly. The results include increasing the knowledge and skills of Posyandu cadres regarding chronic degenerative diseases creating new cadres. Success factors include socialization, personal approach, and student involvement. Even though there are differences in participants' assumptions, initiatives to strengthen old cadres and create new cadres are important. Even though the simulation took a long time, the participants remained enthusiastic. This activity succeeded in increasing the role of elderly Posyandu cadres in managing chronic degenerative diseases, providing a positive impact on the health of the elderly in Wonorejo Village, Maron, and perhaps also the surrounding area.

Abstract

The community service initiative conducted in Kalibuntu Village, Kraksaan, Probolinggo Regency, aimed to enhance community understanding and involvement in combating the COVID-19 pandemic by imparting health education and promoting family communication. Society encountered challenges stemming from inadequate awareness regarding the significance of family communication amidst the pandemic and the detrimental effects of social isolation on mental and emotional well-being. The initiative sought to address these issues by fostering a deeper comprehension of family communication during crises and enhancing knowledge of COVID-19 prevention measures. The implementation methodology encompassed preparation, execution, and evaluation stages. Preparation involved liaising with the village, identifying participants, preparing materials, and extending invitations. Implementation featured health education sessions and group discussions led by students and supported by village healthcare professionals. Evaluations conducted pre- and post-activity gauged participants' knowledge enhancement and the active engagement of stakeholders. Results revealed a substantial improvement in participants' understanding of family communication and COVID-19 prevention measures. Active involvement from village cadres, healthcare professionals, and students significantly contributed to the program's success, as evidenced by the evaluation. Participant enthusiasm underscored the relevance and importance of health education and family communication in pandemic response efforts. Overall, the community service initiative effectively achieved its objective of enhancing community understanding and involvement in combating the COVID-19 pandemic in Kalibuntu Village. Positive participant evaluations, coupled with robust support from various stakeholders and the local government, lay a solid groundwork for the development of more impactful public health initiatives in the future.

Abstract

This service discusses assistance in preparing the Expenditure Standard Analysis (ASB) within the Konawe Islands Regency Government in 2019. The aim is to increase understanding of the factors that influence the amount of proposed spending and performance indicators in ASB. The implementation method includes secondary and primary data collection and analysis using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method. The results showed that this mentoring activity succeeded in providing an in-depth understanding to partners regarding the factors that affect the amount of proposed expenditure, such as differences in types of activities, performance targets, steps to complete activities, and activity needs: expenditure objects, unit prices, and the basis for subtraction and calculation of proposed expenditures. In addition, partners also gain a better understanding of performance indicators in ASB, including inputs, outputs, efficiency, quality, and results. The practical implementation of this science is proven in preparing ASB for office stationery procurement activities, where partners can control costs more effectively and allocate budgets as needed. In conclusion, this mentoring activity provides significant benefits in increasing budget management capacity at the local level. Collaborative efforts and mentoring between local governments and partners must continue to achieve more inclusive and sustainable development goals in public budget management.

Abstract

Home garden farming is a significant component of initiatives in many areas to enhance family well-being. The primary issue at hand, though, is the low usage of yard space. The purpose of this service was to address this issue by enhancing the involvement of members of the Women Farmer Group (KWT) in the utilization of yard land and its influence on the financial growth of families. A participatory strategy is employed, involving training, mentorship, and granting access to sufficient resources. According to the service's statistics, KWT members are using yard land at a significantly higher rate, which benefits both family income and agricultural productivity. In addition, the involvement of KWT members also helps to raise.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced society to adapt to new biases to stop the spread of the virus. The purpose of this service is to provide education and support the implementation of Adaptation of New Beliefs (AKB) in the Early Childhood Education Program at Sukalaksana Elementary School, Garut. The implementation methodology includes case studies, interviews, AKB education, and follow-up on IMR implementation for three days after counseling. During lectures, material is delivered using brochures and video material that discusses COVID-19 and the stages of its implementation. In addition, each learning shift is divided into small groups to emphasize compliance with health protocols. Evaluation findings suggest that children's understanding of COVID-19 and IMR practices should be improved. After completing the training, they started practicing AKB techniques such as cleaning their teeth with soap and using masks. This program emphasizes the importance of collaboration between higher education organizations and government.
