Abstract

Proper first aid from the PMI Volunteer Corps through the 112 call center can help reduce the risk of death from traffic accidents. This study aims to determine the knowledge of members of KSR PMI Blitar City about first aid in accidents. The method used is descriptive quantitative with a sample of 33 respondents from KSR PMI Blitar City selected by purposive sampling. This research used a questionnaire as a research instrument and was conducted in March 2023 at the PMI Blitar City headquarters. The results showed that 42% of respondents had good knowledge. In accordance with the analysis of the answers on the definition indicator, the figure is 64% less, while the indicators for stages show the figure is 66% lacking, which is below the average of all indicators. Based on the results of the analysis, members of KSR PMI Blitar City can conduct programmed training at first aid stages to increase knowledge about accident trauma cases.Keyword: accident, knowledge, first aid

This literature search uses the PRISMA guideline in carrying out the screening process. From the search results, 2,420 articles were obtained. After carrying out the screening process, there were 3 articles that met the criteria and will be analyzed. Based on a study of 3 articles, it was found that the factors related to the implementation of patient handover in inpatient rooms in hospitals are: supervision, knowledge, peer support, communication, and organizational culture. Herniotomyis a surgery performed to free the hernia sac up to the neck, so that adhesions do not occur and then it is repositioned. The hernia sac is stitched, tied as high as possible and then cut. The patient will always experience pain after surgery on day 1. Deep breathing and massage relaxation techniques are one of the non-pharmacological pain management methods to reduce pain. this research aims todetermine the effect of deep breathing relaxation techniques and massage on reducing the pain scale in herniotomy patients. This research uses a literature review by searching articles on the Google Scholar electronic database. Several articles were found in the Google Scholar search database, but only 8 articles met all the inclusion criteria and were reviewed. Results: pain in post-operative patients often occurs, there are many non-pharmacological techniques to treat pain, one of which is the deep breathing technique. Conclusion: The conclusion of the 8 journals studied is that deep breathing relaxation therapy is very influential in reducing pain intensity in postoperative patients if done correctly and continuously.

Abstract

There are quite a lot of hypertension sufferers in middle age in society and are easy to detect. Controlling hypertension requires lifelong medication and non-pharmacological measures. To reduce the side effects of treatment, non-pharmacological measures are needed, namely effleurage back massage and slow deep breathing. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of effleurage back massage and slow deep breathing on vital signs, oxygen saturation, and anxiety in primary hypertension sufferers aged 45 - 54 years. The method in this research uses a quasi–experimental design with a non-randomized pretest–posttest control group design approach. The sample for this study was primary hypertension sufferers aged 45 - 54 years who received routine treatment at the Health UPTD in the Blitar City area, totaling 101 sufferers (51 in the treatment group, 50 in the control group). Inclusion criteria for patients were having systolic blood pressure of 140 – 180 mmHg and diastolic 90 – 100 mmHg, receiving a maximum of 2 standard antihypertensive treatments and not smoking. Analysis used descriptive and t-tests. The results of this study showed that after effleurage back massage and slow deep breathing, there was a decrease in systolic blood pressure of 16.37 mmHg, diastolic blood pressure of 10.39 mmHg, pulse of 3.53 times/minute and respiration of 0.73 times per minute. Effleurage back massage and slow deep breathing are effective if done regularly and require a massage break after the sixth appointment.
