Abstract

Breastfeeding is a way of giving food to babies. Achieving breastfeeding requires strong knowledge and motivation from a mother. Mothers who know and understand the benefits they will receive if they are breastfed can encourage motivation. While in the hospital, health education about breastfeeding is needed to meet the information needs of mothers. Health education that is less than optimal in hospitals has an effect on the motivation of breastfeeding mothers. The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in mothers' motivation in breastfeeding after being given health education about breastfeeding in the treatment group and the control group at Aminah Hospital Blitar. The research design was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-post test approach with control group design with a study population of 80-90 new mothers. Sampling by purposive sampling, 10 people in the control group and 10 in the treatment group. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire that was carried out before and after the provision of health education. Data were analyzed using the Mann Whitney. The results showed that there were differences in the motivation of mothers in breastfeeding after being given health education about breastfeeding in the treatment group and the control group (p value= 0.004). Based on the research results, the provision of health education about breastfeeding has an effect on the motivation of mothers in breastfeeding. So it is suggested that the provision of health education about breastfeeding should be increased in order to achieve exclusive breastfeeding behavior

Abstract

Hospitalization is a threatening experience for children and can cause stress. Reducing the stress level of children due to hospitalization varies greatly, one of which is play therapy. Currently, the style of play of children has changed a lot. In this modern era, children's playing styles have experienced a transition from traditional games to more modern ones. One of them is playing games on gadgets. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of playing game therapy on gadgets on stress due to hospitalization in preschool-aged children. The research design used was Quasy Experiment (one group pre-post test design) with a sample of 22 respondents from a population of 28 children taken by purposive sampling method. Data collection used a stress questionnaire on hospitalization in preschool-aged children. In analyzing the data using the Wilcoxon test, the results obtained were p = 0.000, which means that there was a difference between before being given game therapy and after being given game therapy. From the results of this study it is hoped that it can provide innovation and development for educational institutions, nurses and other medical personnel in providing play therapy for children that can be played easily so that it can reduce the stress caused by hospitalization experienced by children.

Abstract

Mechanical ventilation is an oxygen therapy that is effective in saving the lives of critical patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). Prolonged use results in an increased risk of infection, in this case ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP). In 2013, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention redefined monitoring of the quality of care for patients using ventilators by moving away from the definition of ventilator-associated pneumonia ( VAP) to the definition of a ventilator-associated event (VAE) as a sustained increase in ventilator support after a period of stable or decreased ventilator support. For this reason, it is necessary to search for data regarding factors that influence ventilator-associated events. The literature search method was carried out based on articles published between 2019-2024 in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria that had been determined using 1 database, namely Scopus. This literature search used PRISMA guidelines in carrying out the screening process. From the search results, 60 articles were obtained. After going through the screening process, there were 3 articles that met the criteria and will be analyzed. The results of the study from 3 pieces of literature show that the factors associated with ventilator-associated events are ventilator-associated events, namely the application of SDD (selective digestive decontamination, VILI (ventilator induced lung injury), lung atelectasis, excess fluid, including pulmonary edema, use of medication chlorhexidine mouthwash for oral care, spontaneous breath trials, early mobility, tracheostomy, use of vasopressors, transfusion overload, delirium, type of sedation (continuous or intermittent), type of sedation drug (midazolam, propofol), and analgesia drugs (fentanyl, morphine, remifentanil ), conditions related to infection, gender, age, presence of comorbidities, body mass index, and disease severity index. Reason for intubation. Intubation can be carried out in the ICU or elsewhere.

Abstract

A fracture is a break in the continuity of a bone. The injury recovery process may not go perfectly if the patient cannot move after surgery. Of course, this condition will affect the length of time the patient is considered in the emergency clinic. The recovery that medical staff should be able to carry out in patients with post-operative femur fractures is to complete the initial assembly. Early mobilization is an effort to pursue freedom as quickly as possible by directing the victim to follow physiological capabilities. The motivation behind this study was to determine the impact of early preparation practices on postoperative femoral fracture patients. This research was conducted in the Surgery Room at Ngudi Waluyo Wlingi Regional Hospital. The technique used is a quantitative illustrative examination strategy with an overview type. The population was 5 respondents with post-operative femur fractures treated in the work room, who were examined using an all out examination procedure. Information is obtained through perception. Considering the side effects of the review, it was shown that most of the 60% of respondents with post-operative femur fractures were dependent on others. It stands to reason that there is an impact of movement practices in post-operative femur fracture patients that would encourage a longer stay in the emergency clinic. Patients who are recovering from surgery need to start mobilizing as soon as possible to ensure smooth blood flow, speed wound healing, and minimize hospitalization..

Abstract

Abstract: Preparedness is an activity to anticipate pre-disaster mitigation so that each individual is always ready and prepared to face natural disasters. This study aims to determine the knowledge of school-aged children about pre-disaster preparedness for the eruption of Mount Kelud. This study used a pre-experimental method with a sample size of 31 respondents taken through purposive sampling technique. Data collection was done using a questionnaire. The results of the study showed a significant increase in knowledge. The pre-test results showed that there were no respondents in the good knowledge category, but after being given education using the Time Games Tournament method, there were 23 respondents (74%) in that category. Additionally, the category of sufficient knowledge increased from 0% to 26%, and the category of poor knowledge decreased from 100% to 0%. The Time Games Tournament method is an effective learning technique for delivering pre-disaster preparedness knowledge in a fun way. This method can also increase students' spirit, enable them to actively participate, foster a sense of togetherness and mutual respect, and improve creativity. Therefore, educators and health workers are expected to apply an educational program using the Time Games Tournament learning method in conducting health education. Keywords: preparedness, education, Team Games Tournament method, school age child
