Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of effectiveness the hydroton growing media on mustard plants using the Auto Kapiler hydroponic method with 3 treatments; M1 with hydroton growing media of 2,54 liters (volume 50%), M2 with hydroton growing media of 3,78 liters (75% volume), and M3 with hydroton growing media of 5,04 liters (100% volume). The research was conducted on Jl. Tirtonadi RT. 25 / RW. 04, Jatikerto village, Kromengan sub-district, Malang district which will take place from April 25 to June 14, 2022. Some of the materials and tools used during the research are; hydroton growing media, auto capillary, AB-Mix nutrition, pH meter, and EC meter. Variable observations made consist of; plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), leaf width (cm), root length (cm), and plant fresh weight (grams). Data analysis in this study used a simple Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 replications and 3 treatments. The data obtained were further analyzed using the least significant Least Significant Different (LSD) α 5% level which was then further analyzed using a linear regression. The results showed that the M3 treatment (100% hydroton growing media volume was 5,04 liters) was better than the M2 treatment (75% hydroton growing media volume 3,78 liters) and M1 (50% hydroton growing media volume 2,52 liter).

Abstract

Oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) has a high nutritional content and is low in fat. Oyster mushrooms have the advantage that they can grow in various media naturally (on woody tree trunks) and other media such as sawdust, corn straw, bagasse, peanut shells, and other similar media. Mushrooms are foodstuffs that have a high nutritional content. One type of mushroom that is often consumed is oyster mushrooms. Oyster mushrooms are high in carbohydrates and protein but low in fat. The need for oyster mushrooms every year has an increase of 5%, so that in 2015 the need for oyster mushrooms reached 21.9 tons / year. Growing media is one of the important factors that greatly affect the growth of fungi. The substrate of the fungus must be high in organic matter. Some alternative materials that can be used as material for mushroom media come from agricultural waste or waste such as corn straw and bagasse. The purpose of this study is to obtain a combination of media compositions in the cultivation of white oyster mushrooms that are appropriate for the production and quality of white oyster mushrooms. This research was carried out at the Agrotechnology Education Park (TAMESIA), Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, University of Muhammadiyah Malang in December 2021 – June 2022. The resource obtained were analyzed using a simple Non-Factorial Complete Randomized Design / (RAL) which was then further tested using BNJ level of 5%. The treatment response showed an influence on the growth of the mycelium, the wet weight of the harvest, harvest dry weight as well as the nutrient content of white oyster mushrooms.

Abstract

Functional food is increasing along with the increasing number of people with degenerative diseases and the elderly population, the development of commercial products, scientific evidence of the benefits of functional food components, and the development of food technology. The purpose of this research is. The research was conducted in Tegalgondo Village, Karangploso District, Malang Regency, East Java Province. The research was conducted in March – June 2022. The research was arranged in a Split-Plot Design consisting of 4 main plots (PGPR Concentration) and 4 subplots (crosses). Based on the results, it was concluded that there was an interaction between the administration of PGPR and the reciprocal cross of Pulut-purple corn x sweet corn on the observation of sugar content characters. PGPR treatment with PGPR concentration of 45 ml/l water (V45) can increase growth and yield characteristics. The results of the reciprocal crosses (JPUM) of pulut-purple corn♀ x sweet corn and (JMPU) sweet corn♀ x pulut-purple corn showed that the female parent was more dominant than the male parent.

Abstract

This study examined the effect of growing media and combination-concentration of ZPT soaking time on the root induction of Aglaonema lipstick (Aglaonema crispum L). This study aims to determine the interaction between the growing media and the combination-concentration of immersion time of ZPT (Growth Influence Substance) on Aglaonema lipstick plants, to determine whether the combinationconcentration of immersion time of ZPT (Growth Influence Substance) has an effect on the root induction of Aglaonema lipstick plants, and to choosing the right planting medium in order to meet the export standards of the aglaonema lipstick plant. The experimental design used was Factorial Randomized Group Design (RBD). where factor 1 is the combination-concentration of ZPT soaking time where K1 is water, K2 is Atonic 2ml/l - 20 minutes, K3 is Rootone-F 200 mg/l - 1 hour, K4 is ZPT prokar 10ml/l - 15 minutes , K5 is ZPT prokar 10ml/l - 30 minutes, and K6 is ZPT prokar 10ml/l - 45 minutes. The second factor is the media where M1 is manure, cocopeat, soil, rice husk and charcoal, while M2 is cocopeat and rice husk charcoal. There was an interaction between the combination of planting media and the concentration of ZPT soaking time on the parameters of leaf area and stem diameter. Long soaking treatment using prokar ZPT for 15 and 30 minutes was more effective against the growth of Aglaonema lipstick cuttings on the number and root length parameters. but the planting medium did not affect all observation parameters.

Abstract

Porang (Amorphophallus muelleri Blume.) is a type of tuber plant that is widely available in Indonesia and has tremendous potential and prospects to be developed in Indonesia. Porang is widely exported from Indonesia to several countries. The demand for porang exports continues to increase while the production of porang is still low. In vitro culture is an alternative solution in porang plant propagation to meet the needs of many porang seeds and in a relatively short period of time. Provision of growth regulators in the media can affect the growth of porang. This study aims to obtain information whether there is an interaction between IBA and TDZ in the media, to obtain information on the effect of adding IBA and TDZ with different concentrations on the growth of porang plantlets. This research was conducted using MS medium which was then added with IBA with a concentration of 0.5 ppm, 1 ppm and added ZPT TDZ with a concentration of 0.5 ppm, 1 ppm and 1.5 ppm. The results of this study showed that there was no significant difference between the emergence of shoots and the time of emergence of leaves from all treatments. The I1T3 treatment (IBA 0.5 ppm + TDZ 1.5 ppm) was the best combination treatment in this study by showing the fastest root emergence time (6 MSI), the highest average number of shoots (7.25 shoots), the average number of shoots the highest number of roots (3.67 roots), the highest average number of leaves (6 strands) and the highest average shoot height (1.33 cm).
