Abstract

The transformation of Christian State Religious Higher Education (SRHE) into State Christian University (SCU) should be able to answer various basic questions regarding their existence, governance and outcomes, thereby convincing various stakeholders that the existence of SCUs is indispensable in every era and will graduate alumni who have a significant impact on the progress of society, nation and state. The concept of the main mandate and wider mandate of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion can be elaborated, and operationalized by the leadership of Christian SRHE in responding to the challenges and expectations of stakeholders. The challenges and expectations for the existence of SCU can be met holistically through the management of vertical elements in the form of prayer, the Word of God, churches, sacraments, fellowship and ministry as well as the management of horizontal elements in the form of lecturer, curriculum, students, as well as soft and hard infrastructure of organization. This paper aims to answer these challenges through one element, namely the curriculum, by outlining the concept of curriculum design that synergizes Christian values and knowledge (as the main mandate) and other sciences (wider mandate). This article was developed through literature study and analysis and how to synergize various elements of higher education in a concept that underlies curriculum design that gives Christian SRHE and its graduates uniqueness. Based on the study and analysis of the literature, it is found that the main mandate and wider mandate concepts can be correlated with theological concepts in the form of special revelation, general revelation as well as gospel mandates and cultural mandates. In curriculum design, the main mandate can be represented by the development of the Christian Liberal Arts, and the wider mandate can be represented by the functional science due to study programs that will be opened at SCU.

Abstract

The Roman Church in the 13th- 15th century suffered a severe deviation from the truth in both the ecclesiastical life and in the dogma. Corruption crept into the Church and the clergy forgot their pastoral responsibilities. Instead, they looked after their own personal pleasures. The leadership and the church administration was not in the way it should be. People during the Middle Ages in Europe had a very real dread of the period of punishment in purgatory and hell, which were graphically portrayed in the ChurchThis research materials is taken from the textbooks, journals and other written materials. The issues which were dealt with by the reformer are still very much prevalent; today in the church, universally and locally. Likewise, the present churches today as a whole is plagued with internal issues such as corruption, fight for leadership, interest for own benefits by the leaders, moral degradation of the members as was cited in the research paper.

As a member of the church in Indonesia, we are the part of God's people throughout the world. Together receiving the great commission as found in Matt. 28:16-20. In order to realize God's plan, namely the plan of peace through all of His creation. So, as Christians in Indonesia, they realize that they are God's ambassadors and make positive and constructive contributions as a result of their faith in Jesus Christ. No matter how small it is, it will be beneficial in life as a Christian as well as a citizen. In fact, society and the church are burdened and called to restore its beauty. For a long time, the previous parents have enjoyed its beauty until now. But it cannot be denied that Lake Toba currently needs the attention of Lake Toba lovers and even all people who have seen the beauty of Lake Toba long ago. The presence of contextual theology in Indonesia will provide a clearer understanding of the meaning of the Bible in everyday life. Abstract

For the Batak people, land is identity. Land is ancestral. Land is home to the Batak people, so there are often prolonged conflicts and even bloodshed triggered by claims to land. Therefore sociologically it is not easy for the Batak people to sell land or inherited houses, even though they are open to ethnic groups. There is a collective memory that is inherent or embodied in both: Land and heritage homes. The love for land is the background of thedevelopment movement Marsipature Hutana Be. For this study, an attempt is made to read social reality with a sociological and theological perspective based on empirical and historical facts. This study aims to describe and identify issues of development and social change in the Batak Land. Achieving this with qualitative research and appreciative inquiry with participatory methods and phenomenology. The results of the study are as follows: Building a village (pature huta) or hometown (bonapasogit) is the greatest desire of the Batak people because the village or origin is related to identity. Even Tanah Batak is seen as a house of identity in relation to collective memory.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that there is an explosion of population growth in the world, which causes environmental issues / natural destruction and impacts the lives of mankind. This contradicts the original creation of mankind (Gen 1:28), where God the Creator had created mankind in his image, blessed them to be fruitful, subdued the earth, and cared for allcreation. However, because mankind wanted to be like God, they fell into sin, and God punished them, which resulted in mankind's responsibility to care for the earth becomingdestructive to the world and nature due to a lack of self-control. Seeing the destruction of nature and the vast population growth, humans began to control themselves through the family planning movement to curb the population growth rate. This research uses qualitative research with data collection techniques in the form of literature and field studies consisting of moderate participatory observation, semi-structured in-depth interviews, and documentation studies; the research instrument is the researcher himself, with 6 informants determined based on snowball techniques and triangulation analysis. The results show that the effectiveness of the role of pastors/churches is instrumental in forming a responsible family through premarital counseling for those who will start/create a new family.
