Abstract

One of the main causes of death in neonates is low birth weight (LBW), which is the condition of babies with birth weight < 2500 grams from gestational age < 37 weeks. Problems that often occur in LBW are thermoregulation disorders, respiratory disorders, nutritional disorders and others. This case study was conducted to describe developmental care interventions on the comfort level of premature LBW infants. This study used a case study design with an evidence-based practice implementation approach that focuses on interventional nursing. The study was conducted in the NICU of RSU UMM on 24-26 October 2023. The participants in this study were Baby Mrs. P aged 0 years, 0 month, 0 days, male, with LBW-Premature. Measurement of comfort level using NIPS and Comfort-B Scale through physical examination and observation every 7 hours for 3 days. Patient observation showed that there was a decrease in pain level and an increase in the baby's comfort level every day. This could be seen from the NIPS score on the first day of treatment from 7 points (severe pain) to 0 points (no pain) on the third day, and the Comfort-B score from 25 points (moderate comfort) to 8 points (high comfort). The application of Snuggle up Position can effectively reduce the level of pain scale and increase the comfort scale in LBW-premature infants in the hospital

Abstract

Diabetic ulcers are one of the complications often experienced by patients with diabetes mellitus. The incidence of diabetic ulcers has an impact on patients, families, health care, and society in general. Education plays an important role in the prevention of diabetic ulcers. This study aims to analyze the effect of health education based on the theory of planned behavior on the main factors of theory of planned behavior (attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control), intentions and diabetic ulcer prevention in patients with diabetes mellitus. The quasi-experimental approach pre-test and post-test with control group design was used in this study. There were 84 patients with diabetes mellitus divided into intervention groups and control groups. Questionnaires are used to assess attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, intentions, and behavior prevention of diabetic ulcers. The statistical analysis showed significant differences in attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, intentions, and diabetic ulcers prevention between the intervention group and the control group (p=0,000). This research suggests that education based on the theory of planned behavior can enhance the construction of the Theory of Planned Behavior (attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control), intention, and diabetic ulcer prevention in patients with diabetes mellitus. Patient behavior change strategies can be done by applying health education based on the theory of planned behavior.

Abstract

The golden age is the most important period that all children go through. At this time, parents need to optimize their child's growth and development. The nutritional adequacy of toddlers must be monitored to detect abnormalities such as stunting, wasting, obesity and malnutrition. Stunting is a condition in young children where height or body length as measured by Z-score does not correspond to age. In today's digital era, healthcare generates large amounts of data every day. This data is in various forms, including text, numbers, and digital images or videos. Computer vision in health care is a field of artificial intelligence that allows computers to interpret and act on visual data, including monitoring the growth and development of toddlers. Computer vision can be used to analyze data on stunting status of toddlers. The aim of this research was to develop mobile media to be able to screen and monitor stunting in toddlers using computer vision. The type of the research was research and development methods where the function of using this method was for product validation and development, with the dependent indicator being stunting toddlers. The results of this research showed an accuracy of 90.5%. These results showed that the application of computer vision and artificial neural networks to predict stunting anomalies in toddlers could be used and showed good results. It is hoped that in the future this application can be used by the government, midwives and cadres to continuously monitor toddler stunting

Abstract

During pregnancy, the body's need for oxygen increases, causing an increase in erythropoietin production. An increase in plasma volume has an effect on fluid retention and blood dilution in pregnancy, causing a decrease in hematocrit, causing a decrease in Hb concentration and causing anemia. One possible impact is hampering fetal growth and development. The development of the fetus in the womb can be monitored by estimating the fetus's weight to detect fetal growth abnormalities early. This study aimed to understand the correlation between anemia in pregnant women and estimated fetal weight in the working area of the Sambi Health Center, Kediri Regency. The design of the study was cross-sectional, with a sample of 34 pregnant women with anemia. The sampling technique applied consecutive sampling. The instruments of the study were met line, Sysmex hematology analyzer and observation sheet. The results of this study were analyzed using the Kendall Tau test, and obtained a ρ value of 0.03˂α 0.05, namely H0 was rejected so that there was a correlation between anemia in pregnant women and the estimated weight of the fetus in the working area of the Sambi Community Health Center, Kediri Regency. When a pregnant woman experiences anemia, it results in disturbances in metabolism and exchange of substances in the tissues, then the placenta shrinks, resulting in a decrease in the transfer of important nutrients for the growth and development of the fetus. The impact of this situation is a slowdown in fetal growth which results in a low estimated fetal weight.

Abstract

Stunting refers to a condition characterized by short or very short stature based on the length/height for age, below -2 Standard Deviation (SD) on the WHO growth curve. This condition typically appears from chronic malnutrition, which is often linked to low socioeconomic status, inadequate nutritional intake, maternal health issues, a pattern of recurrent illness, and inappropriate feeding practices during infancy and early childhood. Stunting becomes a serious health problem and requires immediate treatment. In this case, the Indonesian government has made several efforts to improve the reduction of stunting as stated in the 2018 national plan. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 22,2% or 149,2 million children under 5 years old will be stunted by 2020. This research is quantitative type with a cross sectional approach. The independent variable in this study involved mothers' knowledge about stunting as well as being the population, while the dependent variable was the prevention efforts in toddlers. The sampling technique employed probability sampling, namely by stratified random sampling. Inclusion criteria in this study were: a) Mothers and children under five, who live in the RW 01 area of Banyumudal Village, Moga District, Pemalang Regency; b) Mothers who have children under five years old; c) Understand Indonesian; d) Physically and mentally healthy, and e) Willing to be a respondent. The results of the Chi Square test with an error degree of α = 0,05 obtained a p value = 0,001 < α = 0,05. It means that there is a correlation between maternal knowledge about stunting and efforts to prevent it in toddlers in RW 01 Banyumudal Village, Moga District, Pemalang Regency. Stunting will affect long-term brain development, which in turn affects cognitive ability and school performance
