Abstract

This thesis aimed to get a picture of the motivations of midwife in referring patients for caesarean section at PPK II BPJS in Makasar Subdistrict of East Jakarta in 2014. This research was carried out because there was a tendency that doctors had cooperation with midwives, so that caesarean section had to be performed at a specific place. The study was a descriptive study with case study design, using in-depth interviews. The informants of the study were : midwives who refered to PPK II BPJS in the Makasar Subdistrict, Head of Public Relation of PPK II, BPJS doctors, patients of private practice midwives (BPS). This study examined factors contributing the motivation of midwives in referring patients for caesarean section at PPK II BPJS based on three factors: environmental conditions, partnerships and benefits.Short distance between the hospital and private practice midwives could facilitate referral patients. Midwives had more confidence about the safety of their patients when referring to PPK II that had complete facilities. BPJS’policy also affected referral patterns for caesarean section at PPK II because the midwives who not become PPK I, they could not refer patients to PPK II directly. Some of midwives only refered to the obstetricians and gynecologists at PPK II that already had existed cooperation with the midwives. Midwives informants reported that they only refered patients with medical indications and not based on or motivated by financial rewards from the reffered. If the referring process was rewarded, then it was just a bonus and not the main goal.In addition, the informants said that the socialization of BPJS program was not adequate in the community. It was expected the provision of services at the BPJS hospital had hospital accreditation certificate. This study suggested that hospital not give rewards to the midwives for refering patients for caesarean section at PPK II. It was also advisable to midwifery professional association to have clear rules and regulation on the referring process and associated financial rewards.

Abstract

The development of Globalization in this century is far more interesting for so many academias. The main issue that becomes the area of debate is the impact of Globalization to the concept of Nation-State, territory and sovereignty (Wesphalian System). The group of skeptic thinker assume that globalization bring a negative impact to Nation-State, territory and sovereignty. In the other hand, those who put their faith in globalization argue that globalization is inevitable. Therefore, an action of reconfiguration is needed to control the shift of every aspect in the context of world politics. For the sake of this need, Nation-State needs to be strengthening in order to retain its existence and legitimation. The arguments of this paper tend to pro the second position as the staple of this paper. The nature of relationship between Globalization and Nation-State is continuous and dynamic. Therefore, reconfiguration is needed if we want to have a better understanding for the concept of Nation-State, territory, and sovereignty.

The fruit peel contains xanthone which is can be used to lower blood sugar level and as an antioxidant. The problem is how to prolong the shelf life with the best fruit condition. One attempt to solve this problem is coating treatment. The objective of this research was to analyze the effect of various concentration of natural beet dying and bee wax emulsion which is used as coating materials on the shelf life of mangosteen fruit. This research was done on March until April 2016 at the Laboratory of Nasional University. The coating applied to this experiment were beet extract 65%, beet extract 75%, beet extract 85%, bee wax 4%, bee wax 6%, and bee wax 8%. Parameter absorved in this research were weight loss, total acid, total soluble solid, and fruit peel color. This treatment significantly affected all of the parameters. The result of BNT test showed the coating material of which the longest shelf life is resulted by maintaining the best fruit condition was bee wax emulsion 8% with weight loss of 8,29%, total acid of 4,4%, total soluble solid of 17,29 °Brix. The result of Dunn test showed best coating material on fruit peel discoloration parameter was beet extract 85% with a score of 8.

Abstract

Discussion on the relation between diplomacy and International Relations enriches discourse about the linkages between diplomacy as a practical activity and International Relations theory today. This paper will elevate the discourse about diplomacy as an institution in InternationalRelations (IR) from the practitioner’s vantage point. Verily diplomats and mainstream IR theory have been mutually estranged; Diplomats often find international relations (IR) books strange; they often bewildered when they read–or more likely reread the contemporary theory of IR or myriad concepts of IR such as “life cycle of norms”. This paper argued that IR theory has failed to acknowledge the logic of practice in diplomacy and it does not capture the bodily experience to being a diplomat. Departing from above mentioned context this paper want to provide a richer view of how diplomacy works in practice, by showing that diplomacy is much more than the mediation of estrangement. This paper will also potray the actual development of diplomatic practice in order to strengthen the understanding of diplomacy in the context of international relations today. Of course, the primary aim of this paper is to provide a proper comprehension on diplomacy and to juxtapose the relevance between diplomacy on the level of praxis and IR Theory as an academic dissemination.

Abstract

This research based on the statement of the Indonesian Commission of Education stating as much as 62.7 percent of teenagers in Indonesia ever do relationship as husband and wife. Supported data from the BKKBN stating that 51 percent of teens have been doing free sex. In addition, drug users at the time of the teen aged 12-21 years old in 2013 its about 14,000people from the number of teens in Indonesia around 70 million people and from BNN release that since 2003 drug transactions are increased as much as 300 percent from 2010. This problem does not yet include a brawl between students, murder, and other negative cases among youth. Allegedly, the mass media are one of the causes for this to happen. In an effort to prevent the negative impact of mass media, are currently evolving thoughts about medialiteracy. That aims to control the interests and influence of mass media in the lives of individuals, families and communities as well as helping to design actions in handling the influence. Where users have media literacy media will attempt to give a reaction and assess media messages something with full awareness and responsibility. One of the institutions that concern to this is KPI (Indonesia Broadcasting Commission Area). Where in order to stem theimpact of mass media against young people is to hold a workshop or training on the media literacy of the students in Jakarta.

Abstract

As globalization has been fading away with subsequent consequences in 2008 financial crises, the current world is now witnessing further negative impacts on wider aspects social, economic, political and security. Such a catastrophic constellation of present-day with Trump’s words that resembles this ‘globalismo-phobia’ and the move of Britain Exit as a manifestation of threat of such sacred phrase like free trade and global migration—poses a big problem on where we are to go. What could a democracy give its solution to this and how should sovereignty be defined and developed? The paper shall discuss this issue, using Dani Rodrik’s framework of  globalization trimemma. It is the finding of the writer that while alliance and unions of several nation-states may take place, a given nation-state remains an autonomous variable that may play its dynamic role in world politics.
