Abstract

Cinnamon oil is obtained by distillation from the bark of cinnamon. The main component in cinnamon oil is cynnamaldehyde (42-75%). Cynnamaldehyde is a compounds which has aldehyde group that can be modified into the ester group that can be used as an antidiabetic. The synthesis cinnamic esters was oxidation and esterification. This research aims to isolate cynnamaldehyde of cinnamon oil, synthesized cinnamic acid and activities test as antidiabetic. Ethyl cinnamic is obtained from the synthesis of a clear yellow liquid and fragrant with a yield 98.86%. The results of FTIR showed the formation of cinnamic ethyl ester in the presence of CO groups, where as the results obtained by GC-MS abudance of 99.01% ethyl cinnamate. From the antidiabetic test results, ethyl cinnamate coumpounds IC50 values of 215.509 ppm.

Abstract

A study on modification of natural zeolite with surfactant hexadecyltrimethyl-ammonium chloride as nitrate ion adsorbent. This study aims to modification of natural zeolite with hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride, to test the nitrate ion adsorption on the variation of the concentration and determine the maximum adsorption capacity. The research was conducted with zeolite activation stages adding HF 1% solution for 10 minutes and dried at 120 C for 4 hours, then added a solution of 2M NH4Cl for 4 hours and dried at a temperature of 250 C for 4 hours. The next stage is active zeolite modified with HDTMA-Cl using column system with a flow rate of 0.5 mL/min. Modification characterized by FTIR spectrophotometer while the nitrate ion adsorption tests on natural zeolite and surfactant modified zeolite done using batch for 24 hours. Measuring nitrate concentrations were adsorbed by UV-Vis spectroscopy at a wavelength 220 nm. The results of FTIR spectra showed that the active zeolite modification with HDTMA-Cl has been successfully carried out with the advent of tape 1404.18 cm-1, which shows the N+(CH3)3 as well as the emergence of the tape 2854.65 cm-1 and 2924.09 cm -1 shows the range of symmetric and asymmetric CH2 of amine. Adsorption on the nitrate test also showed that the maximum capacity of the Langmuir Isotherm equation of natural zeolite at 0.502 mg/g and the surfactant modified zeolite at 5.128 mg/g.

Abstract

A study entitled "The Effect of the Addition of Ascorbic Acid as Adsorbents Rooster Feathers Against Metal Ion Adsorption Capability of Cadmium (Cd2 +) in Solution". The research aims to create an adsorbent ascorbic acid modified chicken feathers, chicken feathers characterize adsorbents before and after the modification of ascorbic acid by FTIR and SAA. Application of cadmium metal ion adsorption on conditioned by variations in contact time 20-140 minutes; pH 3-9, and the concentration of 50-300 ppm. Characterization by FTIR spectrophotometer to determine the groups that are on each adsorbent and to measure the average pore surface area and total pore volume were analyzed by SAA. The amount of metal ions adsorbed cadmium was analyzed using AAS, and the determination of adsorption capacity using the Langmuir isotherm equation. The results obtained feather adsorbent before and after the modified ascorbic acid each have a characteristic size of the average pore 1,17779.102 and 3,06246.102 ; adsorbent surface area of 1.211 m2 / g and 1.672 m2 / g, and total pore volume 4,924.10-3 cc / g and 9,269.10-3 cc / g. The best application of cadmium metal ion adsorption by the adsorbent feathers before and after the modified ascorbic acid on contact time of 60 minutes and 40 minutes, with the same pH is 7, and the adsorption capacity of 25.64 mg / g and 26.32 mg / g.

Abstract

Tempuyung (Sonchus arvensis L.) is widely used for a treatment of asthma, cough and soothe the nerves. Tempuyung leaf contains phenolic acids which exhibit antioxidant activity. This research begins with the preparation of the sample, were making the ethanol extract, isolation (through the stage without hydrolysis (HA), acid hydrolysis (HA) and alkaline hydrolysis (HB)) and identification of phenolic acids and test the antioxidant activity using DPPH method.The results from the isolation of fraction HA, HB and HT were identified using a TLC co-chromatography and quantitative analysis using TLC Scanner, whereas another isolates phenolic acids were identified using UV-Vis, FTIR, and LC –MS spectrophotometer. The result of dentification using a TLC co-chromatography and quantitative analysis using TLC Scanner showed that in fractions of HA, HB and HT is ferulic acid at levels of 4.855%, 4.267% and 8.376%. Based on the identification with UV-Vis, FTIR, and LC-MS spectrophotometer detected that isolate B (from a fraction of HB) is acid p-kumarat. Antioxidant activity assays were performed on extracts of ethanol and isolate B have a value of antioxidant activity (IC50), respectively for 150.860 ppm and 428.718 ppm. this result shows that the antioxidant activity of ethanol extract more greater than isolate B. However, isolates B have a potential to be developed as a source of antioxidant compounds.

Abstract

Detergent products has been used by almost all the inhabitants for various purposes such as washing clothes and furniture as well as other cleaning materials. Surfactants are good for cleaning are anionic surfactants, ionic surfactants in water kelaruan optimal C12 chain. Some anionic surfactant C12 made and developed, one of which was sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). Synthesis of sodium sulfonate dodesilbenzena was performed to compare dodesilbenzena detergency sodium sulfonate synthesized with sodium dodecyl sulfate. The ability of surfactants to removing contaminants less than perfect so necessary to the addition of sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) as a builder, carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) as well as the alkaline pH and buffer needs to be added besides the addition of STPP. Detergency sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) with the optimum addition of STPP 60%, pH 10.5; CMC 1%. Formula detergent was surfactant SDS obtained 23%; STPP 60%; CMC 1%; buffer NaHCO3 - NaOH and Na 2SO4 with a detergency of 86.989%. GC-MS analysis of the results of alkylating Friedel craft (phase 1), the spectra showed that the compound formed is Dodesilbenzene with tR 18.84, SI = 96. The results of neutralization (phase 3) has a melting point> 500oC estimated inorganic compounds.

Abstract

STUDY of INTERACTION between CHITOSAN TRIMER SEGMENT and ASCORBIC ACID by QUANTUM AB INITIO and EXPERIMENT METHODS. The research has been done between chitosan trimer segments and ascorbic acid used quantum ab initio on theory and basis set RHF/6-31G(d,p) and experiment methods. The quantum ab initio method could be used to get the geometry structure of molecule that more stable and characteristics of intermolecular interaction in the gas phase as simulation of experiment method which too expensive. The aim of research is to determine interaction energy between chitosan trimer segment and ascorbic acid and determine encapsulation efficiency of chitosan on ascorbic acid concentration is 500 ppm. The result show that the interaction can occur between chitosan trimer segment and ascorbic acid with each energy of them were the first and the second configuration respectively -38.1538 kJ.mol-1 and -29.7388 kJ.mol-1. The first configuration position was preferred to others because its energy was greater. Its conclusion was interaction between chitosan trimer segment and ascorbic acid was medium hydrogen bond then the experiment result also prove the interaction between chitosan trimer segment and ascorbic acid shown by free ascorbic acid, filtrate of centrifugation result with encapsulation efficiency of chitosan 64.38 % for ascorbic acid 500 ppm.

Abstract

A study the effects of synthesized ZnO pasta with the addition of poly vinyl alcohol (PVA) and dish detergent on the efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) of rosella flower extract (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) had been done. The purpose of this study was to obtain ZnO from the precursor of Zn(CH3COO)2.2H2O with precipitation method as a semiconductor material in DSSC prototype and to determine the influence of synthesized ZnO pasta with poly vinyl alcohol and dish detergent to the dye-sensitized solar cell. The method used in this study with the manufacture of ZnO was by precipitation method using precursor of Zn(CH3COO)2.2H2O. The results obtained were analyzed by XRD, FTIR spectrophotometry, and SEM. ZnO crystals obtained had a size of 25.676 nm and pore size of 71.43 nm. ZnO was then used as a semiconductor in DSSC using dye rosella extract. ZnO pasta was added with variation of binders that attached to the FTO glass using PVA and dish detergent. The efficiencies obtained from each variation was 0.225x10-3% for PVA while 0.138 x10-3% for dish detergent. PVA binder can produce better efficiency of DSSC.

Abstract

Has done research about the synthesis and characterization of complex compounds of Cu(II)-hydroxyquinoline and Co(II)-8-hydroxyquinoline. This research was conducted to obtain complex compounds Cu(II)-8-hydroxyquinoline and Co(II)-8-hydroxyquinoline and knowing the character of the complex compounds through analysis of UV-Vis, AAS and FTIR. Synthesis of Cu(II)-8-hydroxyquinoline is done by mixing CuSO4.5H2O and 8-hydroxyquinoline ligand in methanol, and then performed with magnetic stirrer, filtered, washed and dried in a desicator. Synthesis of complexes Co(II)-8-hydroxyquinoline done the same way, with the starting materials CoSO4.7H2O. The results is obtained precipitated Cu(II)-8-hydroxyquinoline is green-yellow and Co(II)-8-hydroxyquinoline is yellow. UV-Vis analysis results of Cu(II)-8-hydroxyquinoline have a maximum wavelength at 394 nm, while maximum wavelength of Co(II)-8-hydroxyquinoline at 311 nm and 373 nm. FTIR analysis results indicate the presence of N atom and O atom of C-O clusters in 8-hydroxyquinoline ligand. The stability constants of Cu(II)-8-hydroxyquinoline of 1.206 x 105 while the Co (II)-8-hydroxyquinoline of 1.1299 x 104.

Abstract

Has done research on use electrophotocataysis and photocatalysis methods by using TiO2 for decolorize of remazol black B dye and decrease the concentration of Cu2+metal ion simultaneously. This research was carried out by electrophotocatalysis is electrolyzing sample solution using and TiO2/FTO as anoda and C as cathoda at a potential of 3 volts and for the photocatalysis was done by the addition of 0.1685 grams of TiO2 powder in the sample solution. The two methods in the photocatalys reactor were irradiation with UV-C light and mixtured using 4 rpm for 210 minutes. Sample solution were analyzed by UV-Vis and AAS. The results showed that electrophotocatalysis more effective methods to decolorize dye solution of remazol black B and to decrease the concentration of Cu2+metal ion simultaneously. Decolorization percentage of remazol black B dye with electrophotocatalysis and photocatalysis methods were 98.65% and 31,05%, while the decrease percentage of Cu2+ metal ion concentration were 98.25% and 31,50% respectively.

Abstract

Isolation, characterization, and immobilization of α-amylase from Aspergillus oryzae FNCC 6004 done to obtain α-amylase was isolated from Aspergillus oryzae FNCC 6004 with the highest specific activity, get the data characteristics of α-amylase results isolation which include temperature and pH optimum, to get immobilized α-amylase, the activity of immobilized α- amylase, and reccurence test of immobilized α- amylase of Aspergillus oryzae FNCC 6004. Alpha amylase that successfully isolated a specific activity measurements subsequently before immobilization and carried out characterization that includes the determination of the optimum temperature and optimum pH and done immobilization using bacto agar matrix. The specific activity of α-amylase before immobilized of 3.26 Unit/mg of protein. The results of the characterization of α-amylase shows a optimum temperature of 40 °C and optimum pH 4.5. The activity of immobilized α-amylase after experiencing a decrease of 17.91 %, it that is from 6.81 Unit became 5.56 Unit with two times reccurence test.
