Abstract

It is a kind of library research which aims at revealing: (1) the definitions of error analysis; (2) the sources of error; (3) error taxonomy and linguistic category; (4) relevant research of error analysis. The strategy of this research is modified from George (2008: 66) through the following phases: (1) motivation or assignment; (2) topic selection; (3) research questions (brainstorming); (4) research plan (strategy); (5) reference works & databases (tools & tactics); (6) sources; (7) evaluation; (8) drafting & revising. Error is one of the lerners’ interlanguage prosess where the learners make unnecessary items to be included or even ommit the necessary items. Those issues are virtually unique to note and being ongoing research that has never ended. This research is carried out to have more affinity for the students’ error so then the teachers can be responsive in giving his or her policy in Eglish teaching strategy priority. Based on the relevant research findings, the frequent errors made by the students are in using participles and past costumes (the highest error is past simple) it may be caused of the frequent usage of the basic grammar used by the students. It implies that drilling on the frequent error is a must and becomes priority to focuse.

Abstract

This research aims to develop LKM (Student Worksheet) with KKNI oriented (Indonesian National Qualifications Framework) for strengthening the scientific approach to the course Differential Equations. Knowing how the level of validity, practicality and effectiveness of LKM (Student Worksheet) with KKNI oriented (Indonesian National Qualifications Framework) for Strengthening Scientific Approach to Differential Equations courses have been developed. In accordance with the problems studied, the method used in this research is descriptive method with quantitative approach developed referring to the phase of Fenrich P, (2007). Data collection techniques used were observation, testing, and deployment of the type of closed questionnaire. Data analysis technique was done by descriptive analysis of quantitative and qualitative (mixing method).This research activity has been carried out through several phases, such as analysis, planning, design, development, and implementation. The result showed that LKM (Student Worksheet) with KKNI oriented (Indonesian National Qualifications Framework) for strengthening the scientific approach Differential Equations courses fulfilled the criteria of validity and practicality. Developed Student Worksheet can not be said to be a good device because it has not fulfilled the criteria of effectiveness.

Abstract

This research aims at revealing the students’ rough motor ability among lower classes in State Elementary School II Tirip. It is kind of survey research using test and measurement as the data collection techniques. The population of this research were the whole lower classes in the State Elementary School II Tirip to the number of 103 students. Furthermore, the instrument used in this research is rough motor ability tests. Then, data were analyzed using descriptive analysis in the form of percentage by using four categories: very low, low, high, and very high. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the rough motor ability of the lower class students is commonly categorized in high. The details of the findings are 4 students or 3.88% of rough motor ability is very low, 27 students or 26.21% of rough motor ability is low, 53 students with the percentage of 51.46% have high rough motor ability, and 19 students or 18:45% of very high rough motor ability. Based on the percentages, students of those having high rough motor ability have higher percentage compared to others, namely 51.46%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the causes of adolescent students who loses her virginity and do free sex, to analyze supporting factors that make adolescents and students easily do free sex, a risk that must be faced by teenagers and students after losing virginity and free sex, to develop a model of prevention and reduction of free sex culture among students. The research shows that the factors that causes loss of virginity in adolescents are: unhealthy courtship factors, influenced values among teenagers, influenced values in the neighborhood. The factors that cause teenagers to have free sex are easy: loss of virginity, condom as avoidance beliefs on sexual risk-free, the availability of cheap hotel serves free sex activity. Risks faced by adolescents after losing virginity include: the risk burden to keep a secret that they was not a virgin, the risk of addiction to repeat the free sex, the risk of pregnancy so they will be dropped out from school, reproductive health risks. While the model is a model of free sex prevention outreach to parents, schools, government and society that sex is a new emerging values established among teenagers.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to identify whether or not: (1) Graphic Organizer is more effective than Lecture to teach reading; (2) students who have high motivation have better reading skill than those who have low motivation; and (3) there is an interaction effect between teaching methods and the students’ motivation on the students’ reading skill. The research was conducted in IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro, East Java. The research was conducted from March to May 2014. The method used for the research was experimental study. The population of the research was the fourth semester students of IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro. The sampling used was cluster random sampling. The sample of the research was two classes, they were experimental class taught using Graphic Organizer and control class taught using Lecture. The instruments used to collect the data were students’ motivation questionnaire in the form of likert scale and reading test in the form of multiple choice. Meanwhile, to analyze the data, Multifactor Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test 2 x 2 and Tukey test were used. The data analysis shows the following findings: (1) Graphic Organizer is more effective than Lecture to teach reading for the fourth semester students of IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro; (2) the students who have high motivation have better reading skill than those who have low motivation; and (3) there is an interaction between teaching methods and students’ motivation to teach reading at the fourth semester students of IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that Graphic Organizer is an effective technique to teach reading for the fourth semester students of English Education Department, IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro, in the academic year 2013/2014. The effectiveness of this technique is affected by students’ motivation level.

Abstract

Creativity of students in learning mathematics is identically with their efforts to actively learn by themselves. As an alternative, REOG model is expected to encourage students in being more active and able to think creatively in solving mathematical problems. Students are invited for rationalizing mathematical problems, elaborating, organizing understanding, and Styling completion based on their own creativity. The activity is a key for students to know mathematics through other models of teaching and learning activities.

Abstract

This research aims at revealing a clear depiction of figurative language, literature psychology and educational values of Novel Small Letters to God, Davonar Agnes’ work. It is kind of descriptive qualitative research method. And the source of data is by using Novel Small Letters to God, of Davonar Agnes’ work. The data which is used is the result of the researched annotation in the form of sentences containing figurative language and educational values of Novel Small Letters to God. Furthermore, the data collection was carried out by using literature technique or document. The analysis activity is begun from data reduction that allows the researcher to discharge and enter the useful data as well as triangulation which allows researcher to acquire the validity of the data. Thus, the reduced data as well as triangulation will provide a clear depiction and facilitate researchers for collecting the further data. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that Novel Small Letters To God has psychology, figurative language and educational values. Novel Small Letters To God, of Agnes Davonar’s work is found to have id, ego and super-ego. This novel uses figurative language as follows: hyperbole, personification, climax, irony, antithesis, satire, litotes, anastrophe, paronomasia, periphrasis, paralipsis, apostrophe, and contains the educational values, including religious, moral, and social value.

Abstract

The concern of the paper is the bilingual education conducted at SMP Negeri I Bojonegoro. The study attempts to investigate and to find out the research problems dealing with the influence of bilingual education on students’ speaking English competence, communicative environment motivating students to have awareness to speak in English, bilingual methodology in the classrooms, and the impediments encountered by the teachers and students in employing bilingual learning. The research design of the study is descriptive qualitative using triangulation technique in collecting the required data. The population is seventh and eighth graders students of SMPN 1 Bojonegoro in the academic year of 2013/2014. Meanwhile, the theoretical samples of the study are taken based on the use of bilingual across subject contents (sciences and mathematics) at year VII A and VIII A. The result of the study shows that the program raises the students’ and teachers’ awareness in bilingual education as it is used in specific contents subject. It consequently enhances the motivation for foreign language learning.
