Abstract

This paper discusses the implementation of E-Flip Book learning media through the Problem-Based Learning model on learning outcomes of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) for fourth-grade elementary students. The research was conducted on 24 fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Bantarjati 9 North Bogor in Bogor in the odd semester of the Academic Year 2022/2023. The research design was Classroom Action Research (PTK), which was carried out through four stages; planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The research consisted of the first cycle and second cycle. Data analysis techniques used descriptive statistical analysis to describe data that are related to the teacher’s and students’ activity observation. The research results indicate in the pre-cycle students who achieved complete criteria were 14% and those who did not complete were 86%. In addition, in cycle I it implies that students who obtained complete criteria were 45% and those who did not complete were 55%. In cycle II, the students who achieved the criteria of completion were 88% and those who did not complete were 13%. Thus, the implementation of the E-Flip Book learning media through the Problem-Based Learning model reveals a significant improvement and success to increase students’ learning outcomes at a percentage of 74%.

Abstract

The low students’ learning motivation influences the suboptimal learning process. The learning activities tend to be monotonous and make the students have a lack of interest in learning. Making creative and innovative media is an effort that can be made to improve students’ learning motivation. The research aims to develop genially based edutainment game learning as media that can encourage and cultivate students' learning enthusiasm. The research used the Research & Development (R&D) method and the Borg & Gall development model. The research instruments used were validation questionnaires, trial sheets, and learning motivation questionnaires. The research results indicate that edutainment games based on Genially are valid and suitable for use as a learning media to help teachers in Civic Education learning activities. This is supported by the validation results from three experts of media, materials, and learning, with an average value of 88% in the highly valid category. The average score of learning motivation before applying media was 3.31 in the "sufficient" category, and there was an increase average score of 4.42 in the "very high" category after carrying out learning activities through edutainment game media based on Genially. It shows that edutainment game media based on Genially can also increase students' learning motivation in Civic Education learning subjects.

Abstract

The low Indonesian learning outcomes of the first-grade students at SDN 1 CRJ is caused by the implementation of teacher-centered learning methods like the lecture method. To overcome it, the Classroom Action Research in this paper applies the Matching Games game method to students. This paper reports an improvement of students’ learning outcomes in reading and writing Indonesian learning subjects in chapter 5 of "Teman Baru" with the entitled theme of "Bersikap Baik terhadap Teman" through the Matching Games method. There were three cycles of CAR applied to 12 students, which contains the planning, action, observation, and reflection stages for each cycle. The data analysis technique used in the research was descriptive, which compared cross-cycle test scores with indicators of success. The results indicate that the average score of students’ learning outcomes in cycle I was 66.66 with only 50% of students who are able to achieve the learning objectives. Whereas in cycle II it was 80.83 with 90% of students who achieve the learning objectives. Based on the research results explained previously, the researcher concludes the results of Indonesian learning outcomes in reading and writing that students can be improved by applying the Matching Games method for elementary students at grade 1.

Abstract

Class V students in Kayen District, Pati Regency, are still using expository methods of learning at SD Negeri. Learning outcomes for students are still below the KKM because the teaching methodology is less innovative, students' critical thinking abilities and self-efficacy are low, and students are not very engaged in the learning process. The percentage of pupils whose test scores were below the KKM was calculated from the available data and was found to be 70.21% based on the initial documentation activity. The purpose of this research is to find out if teaching using the discovery learning approach at public elementary schools in the Kayen District of the Pati Regency raises students' critical thinking and sense of agency. The study employs a non-equivalent pre- and post-test within-control group design, which is a type of quasi-experimental methodology. In total, 48 students participated in the study, with 26 participating in the experimental class and 22 participating in the control class. Methods of data gathering include standardised tests, non-tests in the form of rated questionnaires, and record keeping. Descriptive analysis, a precondition test, and a hypothesis test (including the N-Gain and the average difference tests) are used to examine the data. An efficacy value of 1.7903 was found between the experimental group's N-Gain for critical thinking skills and the control group's N-Gain for TKBK. When the experimental group's N-Gain self-efficacy score was compared to the control group's, an efficiency value of 1.4253 was calculated. With an efficacy rating greater than 1, it's clear that the discovery learning paradigm helps students develop their critical thinking and sense of agency. Therefore, it is recommended that educators employ the discovery learning paradigm in the classroom so that students are more engaged and invested in their education.

Abstract

This paper describes students' public speaking skills and barriers, and its solution. The research used a qualitative descriptive approach and data collection techniques used interviews, observations, and documentation. It was conducted for students in Class VI at one of the private elementary schools in Malang. The results of students' public speaking skills in elementary school are still low. The test results show that 61.3% of students still did not complete KKM score (77). Internal factors come from a lack of self-confidence and lack of courage in expressing ideas when public speaking, difficulty in choosing appropriate and correct words in Indonesian, and difficulty to express opinions or ideas in speaking. External factors are the community's living environment (local language use) that influences students' skills to speak.

Abstract

For students, the Merdeka curriculum has the potential to provide relevant learning opportunities in line with PjBL objectives. The research in this paper provides further explanation of how the PjBL model plays a role in IPAS learning subjects and the idea of Merdeka curriculum that emphasizes projects. Case study research is a type of study conducted in this paper. The research uses a qualitative methodology. The steps are observation, interviews, and documentation are used as a data collection approach. During the observation, observations come from observations and initial conditions. Grade IV and V teachers are interviewed and so are grade IV and V students. The information was the data collected from published literature. Data from triangulation and validity tests are used to validate the findings. The research results at Muhamadiyah Mujahidin Elementary School on the use of Project Based Learning on the IPAS learning material content in the independent curriculum reveal that six PjBL syntaxes consist of project determination, design of project completion steps, preparation of project implementation schedule, project completion with facilities and teacher monitoring, preparation of reports and presentations or publication of project results, and evaluation process and project outcomes. The use of PjBL through its syntax at SD Muhamadiyah Mujahidin indicates the regularity of students and teachers in following this PjBL syntax. In order to implement project-based learning methods successfully, it is relevant to the findings of the six phases. Students who actively participate in this co-curricular activity tend to be inspired more by the implementation of the PjBL model, which allows the fulfillment of other appropriate requirements besides cognitive activities.

Abstract

The increasing number of mental health issues in Indonesia and the limited research studied on mental-emotional health issues, in general, are the background of this paper, especially among elementary students. It is to investigate the role and obstacles of elementary school teachers regarding the students’ mental health characteristics and social-emotional conditions. The research implication is that teachers play a crucial role in managing students' mental-emotional health to build positive values and attitudes in order to have good personalities at school. Therefore, teachers need to have the skills to control their own emotions well in order to support them to act in healthy physical and mental activities. The research used a qualitative approach using phenomenological research methods. The research participants included teachers and 44 fifth-grade students of SDN 1 Kebarepan. Data collection used interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis techniques included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results indicate that the teachers have been carrying out their roles in managing students' emotional conditions, even though it doesn’t implement totally yet as the environment lived by students can also provide an impact on their mental-emotional health development.
