Abstract

Armyworm or (Lepidoptera:Noctuidae) is one of main pest in plant crop. This pest might cause damage on the leaves and stems and reduce of crop production. Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. aizawai and Beauveria bassiana have been known as biocontrol agent to this pest. This research was aimed to observe the production time of B. thuringiensis subsp. aizawai toxin, measure the effect of toxin against Be. bassianaconidia, to test the activity of their mixture against S. litura. B. thuringiensis subsp. aizawai was grown on specific medium for B. thuringiensis. Toxin production of the isolate was measured every 4 hours up to 48 hours incubation. Be. bassianawas grown on the white rice medium and its conidia was grown on the Potato Dextrose Agar medium. containing toxin. The activity test was done by spraying them to S. litura larvae. The stasionary phase of B. thuringiensis was obtained at 16 hours incubation and the maximal toxin production at 48 hours.. The highest mortality caused the mixture of toxin thuringiensis and conidia Be. bassiana was 96,7%.Key words: Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. aizawai, Beauveria bassiana, toxin, mortality,Spodoptera litura

Abstract

This article aim to study process design having the character of steady (robust design), in the effort is optimal overall of or response. Applying method merging between inner arrays and outer arrays in one matrixes designs so-called combined arrays can close over insuffiency from products arrays. Taguchi based on the design made by response model as design of experiments integration Taguchi with method of surface of response ( RSM), then determine valuation mean response variance and response based on the response model appraiser. Some bottoms design of experimentses evaluated by using criteria Variance dispersion graphs (VDGs) with amount of appropriate experiment. Application earnings yield indicate that modified CCD have variance slope compared is smaller with bottom design MR. But, from Prediction scale earnings yield Variansi Residual maximum and the average of design augmented MR compared by is smaller modified CCD. So that design augmented MR consider as effort cost effective and time, because amount of point of small relative experiment. Abstract

Studi ini tentang, berapa besar penyimpangan ukuran batu bata dari ukuran standar yang disyaratkan pada usaha tradisional batu bata merah di Kelurahan Kalase’rena, Kecamatan Bontonompo, Kabupaten Gowa. Metode yang dilakukan dalam studi ini adalah, pengambilan sampel secara acak di 27 tempat pembuatan batu bata merah. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan besar penyimpangan ukuran batu bata merah adalah, penyimpangan ukuran panjang 20,01%, penyimpangan ukuran lebar 20,03%, dan penyimpangan ukuran tebal 28,92%.Keywords: batu bata merah, ukuran, sampel, penyimpangan.

Abstract

This study aimed at revealing the Ideal Generic Competencies (IGC) needed based on the expert judgement, and the Agriculture Extension Worke ( AEWs) experience.. The data were collected through interview and questionnaire methods, and analysed using the descriptive technique and profile analysis. The result of the descriptive analysis are as the followings. The profile of generic competencies needed by AEWs according to the experts judgement and the document analysis are shown at the rank of Language and communication, Planning and organizing activities, Scientific and technological understanding, Problem solving, Personal and interpersonal, Mathematics, and Cultural understanding. Six of those generic competencies are most important categories, but that Cultural understanding is important category. Language and communication, Planning and organizing activities, Scientific and Technological understanding, and Problem solving were validated in field. This implied that those generic competencies are crucial for AEWs to do the job of an agricultural extension well, so that the competency standard, and the educational and training curriculum are deviced in relevance with them. Key words:profile, generic competencies, agriculture, extension worker.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of storage duration and level of liquid smoke on quality of meatballs from Bali beef section brisket (Pectoral is profundus). The research methodology is based on completely randomized design (CRD) with a general pattern that is 3 x 4 with 3 replications, for cooking shrinkage test consisted of 3 treatments and 3 replications, and organoleptic test used for pattern 3 x 3 with 3 replications. Composition of treatment as follows: The first factors is the level of liquid smoke to the A1 (0% by weight of liquid smoke meat in dough), A2 (1% by weight of liquid smoke meat in the dough) and A3 (2% by weight of liquid smoke meat in dough). Factor II is with B1 storage time (1 week), B2 (2 weeks), B3 (3 weeks) and B4 (4 weeks). Data were analyzed with analysis of range by using completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 6 parameters of quality testing meatballs using the Least Significant Difference Test (BNT). Based on the analysis and discussion of the variety it can be concluded that the level of liquid smoke does not affect the quality of meatballs while the storage time eeffects the quality of the balls except the resilience parameter.Keywords : Quality of Meatballs, Muscles Pectoralis profundus, Liquid Smoke and Old Storage

Abstract

MOET merupakan suatu program perbaikan mutu genetic untuk mengurangi keterbatasan ternak betina dalam menghasilkan bibit kualitas unggul.Proyek ini bertujuan mensinkronkan siklus estrus antara donor dan resipien dengan menggunakan hormone GnRH, PGF2£, and FSH, hingga ternak resipien siap untuk menerima transfer embrio pada saat yang tepat. Ternak percobaan yang digunakan adalah ternak perah, yang terdiri dari donor 4 ekor sapi laktasi dan resipien 8 ekor masing – masing dengan score (body condition score) 4-5. Percobaan dilakukan di laboratorium lapangan ternak perah, University of Queensland, Australia.Proyek ini dilakukan dalam beberapa tahap, yaitu: sinkronisasi estrus, super ovulasi, inseminasi buatan, perbaikan embrio, evaluasi embrio, perlindungan dan pemeliharaan embrio, transfer embrio dan diagnose kebuntingan.Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa 2 dari 4 ternak donor memiliki kualitas embrio yang bagus (good compact morula), dengan jumlah masing-masing 4 embrio. Proses sinkronisasi estrus antara donor dan resipien relative sama, dimana dengan rata-rata 12 jam – 36 jam setelah CIDR dicabut ternak menunjukkan tanda-tanda estrus. Angka kebuntingan 62.5% dari total jumlah ternak resipien. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, maka skema yang dicobakan dapat diaplikasikan dalam program MOET

Abstract

The curriculum is one component that has a strategic role in the education system. Curriculum on International Class Program UNM Faculty of Science, has studied the course material to the students as prospective educators to consider the needs of field-oriented learners, particularly RSBI. The purpose of this study was to: (i) conduct an assessment of ICP Curriculum, State University of Makassar with the Education Unit Level Curriculum RSBI junior in Makassar to know kerelevanannya, (ii) quantify the proportion of material Curriculum Education Unit RSBI junior teaching science in City Makassar contained in the curriculum ICP Faculty of Science, State University of Makassar. This research is ex post facto research with data collection techniques through the study documentation and interviews. Data analysis using matrix method and presented descriptively.The results showed that: (i) curriculum with the curriculum of the UNM Faculty ICP RSBI junior in Makassar is relevant, judging from the number of points of the subject / sub teaching science subject that is in the course materials based on ICP analysis performed relevance, (ii) that contains several courses subject / sub subject science teaching also has a fairly high points, reaching 33.3% in Basic Biology courses, and 31.4% in the high School Physics courses Practicum. Based on the interviews conducted, by the author of the given input to produce university educators with international class to send its students to perform practical field experience in junior RSBI..Key words: ICP Curriculum, Curriculum RSBI, Analysis of Relevance.

Abstract

The measurement of conductivity rock coat conducted by using potential method fall. Target of this research is to know how big assess electrics conductivity some homogeneous material type which obtained potential fall and know graph characteristic is nature of conductivity various same material type to function apart friction of potential electrode fall. The pursuant to result of the measurement, that every material have conductivity value which vary, where land containing of brine (salt) conductivity value equal to (0,4760-0,450)m-1, sand coat and gravel equal to (0,0096-0,0078)  m-1, limestone equal to (0,0151-0,01488)  m-1, clay land equal to (0,165-0,156)  m-1, and limestone contain chalk equal to (0,00269-0,00251)  m-1. Rock type/land owning larger ones conductivity is land containing of brine (salt) while smallest conductivity is limestone containing of chalk. Conductivity value every rock coat is land containing of brine (salt) = 0,4626  m-1 with DK=91,47%, sand coat and gravel = 0,0087  m-1 with DK=86,77%, limestone = 0,0150  m-1 with DK=92,18%, clay land = 0,1608  m-1 with DK=83,04%, and limestone containing of chalk = 0,00256  m-1 with DK=92,40%. From is fifth of material type anticipated that conductivity value vary to be caused by the existence of difference of amenity electrics current to emit a stream of in each passed by rock compiler material. Strong difference of current to emit a stream of in rock coat medium very is base on nature of passed by material physical. Abstract

Cyprinus carpio Linn is kind of fresh water fish which is widely developed because it is liked by society. Therefore, an appropriate plantation system is needed in order the availability of the fish in aboundant. Plantation with steril fish is one of alternative of providing the fish apropriately. The research is aimed to know the relative hatching rate on Cyprinus carpio Linn ras Punten which is given heat shocking temperature after fertilization. The research design is used is Copletely Rendomized Design with four repeating for each experimental group. The data is analyzed using one way ANAVA to know the effect of heat shocking temperature treatment toward relative hatching rate. The result of the research show that there is a significant effect between treatment toward relative hatching rate with probability is 0,00.Keywords: penetasan telur, ikan mas, kejutan suhu panas

Abstract

Research has been conducted to find out the percentation of lignin in delignification process, rate of delignification, and order or reaction from the coconut fiber with peroxide alkali. Three experiments were done in this study : 1) optimalized of pH to find out highest lignin percentation from black liquor; 2) simple characterized of lignin by spectrophotometer IR; and 3) graphical interpretation of the percentation of lignin with cooking time to find out the order of reaction of delignification. The lignins were isolated by acid process. The obtained of lignin precipitation was filtrated, washed and rinsed with water until free from acid, and then heated at 105oC for 1 hours. The cooking time  were varied as: 1 hour, 1,5 hours, 2 hours, 2,5 hours, 3 hours, 3,5 hours and 4 hours. The result of the experiments indicated that the highest lignin percentation were gotten in pH = 2, and from the IR spectra of lignin after was compared with standard lignin spectra, it can be seen that this sample is realy lignin. Than, according to graphical interpretation indicated that the order of reaction from coconut fiber delignification by peroxide alkali process followed first order. Key words : Black liquor,  Delignification, peroxide alkali.
