Abstract

Pembelian produk jasa mengandung resiko yang relatif lebih besar daripada produk fisik yang bisa dievaluasi sebelum membeli, karakter intangible yaitu tidak dapat diindera sebelum dibeli merupakan ciri khas dari produk jasa. Demikian juga dengan jasa pendidikan yang tidak dapat dievaluasi sebelum dibeli sehingga sulit diperkirakan resiko-resiko yang akan ditanggung seperti resiko finansial, waktu, psikologis (merasa tidak nyaman secara emosional), fungsional dan sosial Oleh karena itu, maka calon mahasiswa akan  mencari informasi lebih lengkap melalui image suatu perguruan tinggi maupun melalui opinion leader atau word of mouth Penelitian ini dilakukan di STIE Widya Manggala Semarang dimana dari data ditemukan bahwa citra STIE Widya Manggala belum bagus di mata masyarakat. Penelitian ini  mencoba untuk menganalisis hubungan antara variabel kualitas pelayanan dan biaya pendidikan terhadap variabel citra dan kaitannya terhadap peningkatan word of mouth. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer berupa kuesioner yang diberikan kepada 115 mahasiswa STIE Widya Manggala Semarang. Teknik analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik Structural Equation Model (SEM) dari software AMOS 7.0. Hasil penelian ini menunjukkan bahwa hubungan kausalitas antar variabel-variabel yang mempengaruhi dengan kriteria Goodness of Fit yaitu chi square =( 89,104); probability = (0.388); GFI = (0.908); AGFI = (0.871); CFI = (0.996); TLI = (0.995); RMSEA = (0.018); CMIN/DF = (1.036). Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa variabel kualitas pelayanan dan biaya pendidikan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap citra, sedangkan variabel citra berpengaruh positif terhadap variabel word of mouth.. Temuan empiris tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa untuk meningkatkan citra yang dapat mempengaruhi word of mouth, maka STIE Widya Manggala perlu memperhatikan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi citra, seperti kualitas pelayanan dan biaya pendidikan Karena dengan mengetahui pengaruh hubungan tersebut dapat dijadikan acuan untuk merancang strategi guna peningkatkan citra dan word of mouth. Abstract

Theoritically, the better the corporate governance structure of the company, the better the company’s performance it gets, so avoided from financial distress. The first objective of this research was to examine the most influence variables of corporate governance structure on financial distress. The second objective was to confirm the past research. A hypothesis showed that corporate governance structure influenced financial distress. The variables as proxy for corporate governance structure used in this research were the number of board of directors, the number of commissioner, public ownership,   the number of board of director out, institutional ownership,  and directors ownership. The samples consisted of 19 companies  listed  in Indonesia Stock Exchange or by using 95 observations during 2003 until 2007 periods. Moreover, it is chosen by purposive sampling. The analysis was started with descriptive statistic. The statistic method which was used to test the research hypothesis was logistic regression. Two log likelihood, Cox and Snell R Square, and Hosmer and Lemeshow test, used to examine goodness of fit model. The analysis showed that two log likehood test, Cox and Snell R Squared test, and Hosmes Lemeshow test denoted which used in this research have goodness of fit. The result of research showed that variables of corporate governance  structure that influenced financial distress were the number of board of directors and the number of commissioner, while the others not influenced. Abstract

The research was quantitative research that used secondary data namely data of physical and documentary data. Later in this study, focusing only examined financial data Karanganyar District in the period 2003-2007. Method of analysis in this study used testing conducted by testing the effects of independent variables to the dependent variable. Analysis tools used in the study was quantitative analysis. Quantitative analysis was divided into two, namely the classical assumption test and multiple linear regression test. Abstract

Technology development and operator increase as PT Telkom competitors make scope of market and customers fewer in number because of customers inloyalty. In accordance with this background, the research was made to find out the case of Flexi product’s decline. To maintain customers, we need to create our customers loyalty by improving our quality of service, quality of product and price. Improvement of those qualities and price will influence our customers satisfaction. And in the end, it will increase our customers loyalty. Key words : quality of service, quality of product, price, customer’s satisfaction, customer’s loyalty.

Abstract

RS. Roemani Muhammadiyah Semarang has problems on its employee’s performances which most of them stay in enough classification, not in good classification. This research investigates the influence of training and development, Job satisfaction, Organizational culture, and motivation to improve employee performance.A research model was designed to reflect those important factors. Data was taken from employees of RS. Roemani Muhammadiyah Semarang. Population of this research was 700 people. This research used purposive sampling method and earned 140 respondents. Data was collected by using questionnaire and interview to respondents. The results indicate that training and development factor was positively influence employee performance, directly or through motivation. Job satisfaction factor  was  positively influence employee performance, directly or through motivation. Organizational culture factor  was  positively influence employee performance, directly or through motivation.  Moreover, motivation  positively and significantly influenced employee performance.  Limitation and agenda for the further research can be used as reference by further researcher. Abstract

Disintermediatior phenomena in financial market show that many people tendto invest in capital market more than in banking. That’s happened, because the return onstock is profitable than banking interest rate. But, there is a big risk in capital market. It’snatural, financial market says that high risk high return, low risk low return. So, if we do notwant to loss, we must have ability to analyze stock performance, specially volatility of stock.This research useed ARCH/GARCH Model to estimate volatility. The research showed thatstock growth in 2007 – 2009 tended to decrease for all index (JSX and KLCI). JSX and KLCIjust had ARCH effect, so the index influenced volatility this time price index. The researchalso showed, that α value e” 0,7 and sum of α and β almost one for all index (JSX and KLCI).That means, the volatility shock was persistent or the volatility was high and persistent. Keywords : ARCH, GARCH, volatility and persistent

Abstract

Motivating employees to play an important role in the organization’s successand part of this study indicate a positive relationship between commitment, self-efficacyand motivation. This study tested whether financial incentives and the type of feedbackhad an influence on commitment and self-efficacy in improving performance throughtask motivation. In this study, the proposed variables were the dimension of commitment(affective, continuance and normative) and self-efficacy. The contribution of experimentalstudies in the behavioral accounting literature by investigating how a specific type ofperformance feedback and performance-based rewards affected three dimensions ofcommitment and self-efficacy. Also, in the context of research is relatively easy to investigatewhether the prediction is valid to use for lower-level employees. This experimentparticipants consisted of 84 bachelor degree students of Faculty of Economics andBusiness, Gadjah Mada University. This experimental study resulted that performancefeedback and rewards have no effect on the dimensions of commitment and self-efficacyat the lower level employees. Performance feedback was negatively related to the threedimensions of commitment and self-efficacy, whereas performance-based rewards waspositively related to one-dimensional normative commitment. In addition, the motivationwas not significantly related to two of the three dimensions of commitment and self-efficacy.Normative commitment was significantly positively related to employee job motivationlevel. The implications of this research illustrates that control mechanisms do not goincreasing the commitment and self-efficacy of employees and increased employeemotivation. And the design of incentives and feedback can improve employee performance.Keywords: commitment. self-efficacy, motivation; feedback and incentives

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was influencethe selection of a career as a public accounting, corporate accountant, accountants,educators, and government accountants of the factors that will be reviewed financialawards, professional training, professional recognition, social values , work environment,labor market considerations and personality. The population in this study were active S1Accounting students at 6 private universiies in Semarang city on six semesters as manyas 200 students. The sample selection was done by using random sampling, the resultingsample of 125 respondents consisting of 35 students of UNISSULA, 35 students of UNIKA,35 of USM students, 35 students of UDINUS, 35 students of UNISBANK, and 25 studentsof WIDYA Manggala School of Economics. The data analysis was conducted in thisstudy by using ANOVA test. The results of this study indicate that there was influence inthe choice of accounting students as a career public accountant, company accountant,accounting educators, and government accountants who reviewed the factors of financialreward, professional training, professional recognition, social values , work environment,labor market considerations and personality.Keywords: financial rewards, professional training, professional recognition, socialvalues †, work environment, labor market considerations, personnel

Abstract

This research was conducted to see the influence of consumer personalityon brand selection as a self-concept on automobile product category. Avanza, Xenia,Jazz, Innova and Rush are the brand of cars that becomes an object of research. In thisresearch consumer personality consists of four variables and brand personality as selfconceptconsists of two variables. Data was collected by using survey method, and thevalidity test for items of questionnnaire using factor analysis. Then to see the influenceof consumer personality on brand selection as a self-concept on automobile productcategory this study used multiple regression analysis. Anova analysis was used to testevery car owner in the notice of a difference in consumer personality and brandpersonality as a self-concept. The empirical results, in this study a statistical test showedthat consumers used their personality to select the brand identity that match with theconcept itself.Keywords: consumer personality, brand personality, self-concept, automobile product

Abstract

Every company will face tight competition with other companies. One ofthe best efforts to keep and get customers is by managing core service quality, peripheralservice quality and word of mouth. This research was done to examine the influence ofthe core service quality and peripheral service quality to the positive word of mouth. Theobject of the research was students of SMA Sint Louis Semarang. The sampling techniqueused was proportional sampling. The samples were 81 samples. The data collection wasobtained by distributing questionnaire to the students. The data survey was organized byusing regression analysis assisted by SPSS program. The result showed that independentvariable of the core service quality positively and significantly influence the positiveword of mouth, while independent variable of peripheral service quality positivelyinfluence but not significantly to the positive word of mouth. It means the first hypothesis(H1) proposed was accepted. The limitation of the research was because some respondentsdid not answer the open questions, so the researcher hardly finds out the respondents’wants to the service quality expected in SMA Sint Louis.Keywords: core service quality, pheripheral service quality, and positive word of mouth
