Abstract

Unit Commitment (UC) is a problem to schedule generating units in a power system economically meeting the requirements of load demand and spinning reserve. Up to now several methods have been applied to solve this problem. Among those methods Lagrange Relaxation (LR) seems to be the most suitable one. However, this method may suffer from numerical convergence problem. This paper proposes a new method for solving UC problem. The proposed method uses Evolutionary Programming (EP) to update Lagrange multipliers and improves the performance of LR method. Simulation results show that the proposed method can provide a better solution compared with another methods.

Abstract

Potential renewable energy source in Indonesia today for hydropower around 75.67 GW and newly used about 4.2 GW. Utilization of energy in the present has been directed to the use of renewable energy in nature. Based on that idea, innovation and testing are done by designing Floating hydro power plant (FHPP) FHPP is designed by utilizing irrigation water sources to meet small-scale power consumption, especially for household consumers with 450-500 watts of power. FHPP design process is done by first analyzing the related data such as planned power and other related variables. After the size and dimensions of FHPP is known the next stage is to make the model FHPP using Ansys 18.00 software, the goal to find the optimal design of FHPP which can generate electrical power between 300-450 watts. While the components of FHPP itself consists of pontoon, waterwheel, permanent magnet generator (GMP) as an electricity generator, voltage rectifier, voltage stabilizer and battery that serves to store voltage generated by GMP. After FHPP design is completed the next stage is the mechanical testing of FHPP by using an electric motor as a substitute for water flow and experimental testing conducted by utilizing irrigation water flow. From this test obtained voltage generated by gmp is direct current (DC) with a maximum power of 480 Watt, 600 gpm rpm rotation with maximum torque of gmp of 0.42 kgm. The resulting voltage is converted to alternating current (AC) by using a converter so that it can be used to meet household electrical needs.

Abstract

Distributing traffic flows on fat-tree network topology used in data center networks is essential. Multipath routing is the common technique used to balance the traffic flows. In Software Defined Networking (SDN), the routing path is fully controlled by a controller to select the optimal path or the multiple paths in order to optimize flows throughput. This paper presents an implementation of a Hydrid proactive and reactive controller mode in SDN to load-balance traffic flows. The controller monitors the path utilization and will reactively install flow-tables to the appropriate switches whenever there are significant traffic spikes for a certain period. For the case of frequently high-utilized paths, the controller will proactively apply flow-tables to the appropriate switches. The evaluation results in a fat-tree topology show that the proposed Hydrid method outperforms LABERIO by 2.38 Mbps higher throughput and 18 seconds lower latency.

Abstract

Telur ayam merupakan salah satu bahan makanan bergizi tinggi yang mudah didapat dan diolah. Dari sebutir telur didapatkan zat gizi yang cukup sempurna seperti protein dan lemak. Pada penelitian ini, diteliti pengaruh variasi level daya Wi-fi pada telur ayam dengan jarak 0,5, 1, 2, 3, dan 4 meter. Nilai level daya terbesar adalah 15,417 watt dengan kuat medan elektromagnetik 30,834 x 10-13 W/m pada sampel dengan jarak 0,5 meter dari router Wi-fi. Sampel telur ayam yang tidak dikenai radiasi mengalami penurunan kandungan air sebesar 10,758 gram. Pada sampel telur ayam yang dikenai radiasi, penurunan kadar air, lemak, dan protein tertinggi adalah 6,75 gram, 2,3493 gram, dan 2,5938 gram.

Abstract

This paper discusses the improvement of dielectric strength of dielectric coconut oil using olive oil to be used as an alternative to liquid insulation on high voltage equipments. Increasing the breakdown voltage level has been done by adding olive oil of 5% -25% into coconut oil. Heating was considered to reduce the water content in coconut oil. Electrical testing (using breakdown voltage test), physical testing (by testing the water content using oven method), and analysis of the acid content of simple saturated fat using mixing formula, have been performed to determine the feasibility of coconut oil as insulation agent. The test results indicated the breakdown voltage of a pure coconut oil value of 23.47kV / 2.5mm, which did not fulfilled the IEC 156 standard, which is 30kV/2.5mm. The addition of olive oil could increase the breakdown voltage level to 38.73 kV / 2.5 mm and if the heating can reach 51.15kV/2.5mm. The highest breakdown volatge level of 54.01kV/ 2.5mm could be obtained by mixing the olive oil and heating the coconut oil at once. ell. It can be concluded that the addition of olive oil could decrease the saturated fatty acid content from 91% to 72.2%, whereas the heating could reduce the water content from 2697 ppm to 361 ppm. From the point of view of water content, the modified coconut oil could not meet the maximum permitted standard JIS 2320, which is 50 ppm. Based on the achieved breakdown voltage level, the considered coconut oil will be able to work on electrical equipment with a working voltage level of 0.75 kV-13.2 kV.

Abstract

Based on the results of communication with the head of PAUD IT Putera Zaman and SMPN-2 Sumberpucung Malang, as well as field surveys were conducted, some of the problems that can be identified are as follows: 1) the deficiency of intensive communication between school with the student’s parent; 2) the deficiency of intensive communication between School with stakeholders, such as donatours. The efective communication should be made based on IT (Information Technology) i.e. via SMS Gateway implementation, so intertwined intensive communication between stakeholders interest in PAUD IT Putera Zaman and SMPN-2 Sumberpucung. The implementation of SMS Gateway has been done by identifying the system requirement and data collection of PAUD IT Putera Zaman’s and SMPN-2 Sumberpucung’s stakeholder. SMS Gateway has been designed and implemented using a combination of Kalkun Application System as contact management and SMS, and Gammu SMS Daemon used as processing of the SMS program such as receiving, storing, and transmitting the messages through GSM modem. The database used is managed by using MySQL to store the existing messages. SMS Gateway with the existing system has been successfully implemented in the PAUD IT Putera Zaman and SMPN-2 Sumberpucung Malang. Result of performance test shows that this sistem could send the message up to 72 message per minute, and received up to 70 message per minutes.
