Abstract

The  Hajj  — Arabic for “pilgrimage” — is a five-day religious pilgrimage to Mecca and nearby holy sites in Saudi Arabia that all Muslims who are physically and financially able must perform at least once in their lives. The application plays an important role in all the series of the pilgrims’ satisfaction, Proper and clear policies and regulations in Hajj management are needed in order to prevent ambiguity and ineffectiveness of the Hajj pilgrimage to experience a noble pilgrimage from the beginning to the end. The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between service providers and Hajj applicant’s satisfaction and identify what is the highest factor in service quality that influences the applicant satisfaction. That knowledge will be used to provide suggestions for policy makers to minimize any possible dissatisfaction in Hajj registration process. The research shows that only four out of five factors in service quality have a positive influence with the applicant. Assurance has the strongest effect on other factors in service quality which influences applicant satisfaction. Hajj applicant believes that among the five factors in service quality, namely tangible, reliability, empathy, and assurance have good results while responsiveness requires to be improved. Consumers hope that the government will improve the policies on Hajj application and its submittal and introduce a new, as least modified process method to minimize problems to increase satisfaction.

Abstract

Support and cooperation of local people is important things regarding successful ecotourism management. Ranu Pani village is one of area included in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, Indonesia. This study aims was to examine how local people views and the relationship between perception, attitude, communication and participation of residents towards ecotourism. A questionnaire survey was conducted to reach the objectives of this study. And, to analyze the data, this study used regression analysis trough SPSS. The results showed that there was a relationship between positive perception, communication and participation. Most of respondents agreed with statements that ecotourism would like to improve attractiveness of the community, and raise incomes of local people. Regarding communication, local people would like to give information and feel happy when visitors asking them about their nature and culture. Further, there has been a slightly relationship between attitude and positive perception. Regarding attitude, currently, most of respondents supported with national park management. However, they were only 58.7% satisfied with development of national park. Therefore, national park authority should improve their capacity to provide more employment opportunities and to escalate residents-national park relationship. And, these may increase participation of residents.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis persepsi pengelola keuangan dalam lembaga sekolah terhadap tindakan whistleblowing yang berlandaskan pada Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA). Populasi berjumlah 214 orang yang terdiri dari 24 orang kepala sekolah, 97 orang wakil kepala sekolah, 22 orang kepala tata usaha, 32 orang bendahara, dan 39 orang pegawai administrasi keuangan di SMA/SMK/MA Negeri se – Kota Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampling sensus. Pengumpulan data mengunakan kuesioner. Kuesioner yang kembali dan terisi dengan lengkap adalah sebanyak 192 buah. Teknik analisis regresi berganda digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sikap terhadap whistleblowing dan norma subyektif berpengaruh positif terhadap whistleblowing intention.

Abstract

The focus of this research is evaluating the mine land reclamation policy in East Kalimantan based on framework developed by Europe Environmental Agency (EEA). Using the reclamation rate as main indicator, the results show that there was no significant increase in reclamation rate after the regulation was issued (2017) compared to the pre-regulation era (2013). In fact the reclamation ratio of disturbed land actually decreased from 67.91% to 62.98% while the revegetation ratio to disturbed land increased slightly from 42.55% to 43.29%, showing that further research and an action plan is needed.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the difference between Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s (known as SBY) administration and Joko Widodo’s (known as Jokowi) administration in managing the national road in Indonesia. A qualitative approach has been conducted by using primary and secondary data during 2005–2017. The result of this study has found that the pace of road development under the SBY presidency was relatively slower than the Jokowi presidency. The former focused more on the improvement of the quality of roads. Meanwhile, the Jokowi presidency focused more on constructing the new road network.

Abstract

East Java is one of the few provinces in Indonesia that is blessed with the potential for diverse and abundant energy and mineral resources. One of the regions in East Java that has the potential as a major electricity producer is Ponorogo Regency. The Government of Ponorogo Regency itself through the Regional Regulation (Perda) of Ponorogo District Number 1 of 2012 concerning the Regional Spatial Plan of Ponorogo Regency (2012-2032) has regulated the development of infrastructure to increase electricity productivity by developing Geothermal Power Plants in Ngebel District. This then attracted the attention of domestic investors, namely PT. Darmakarya Energi Bakrie to establish a Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) in the Ngebel Village area, Ngebel District, Ponorogo Regency. The development that has been planned will be able to run as expected together if it receives a positive response from the community. So it would have been a necessity if planning, implementing, and the results of development should be oriented towards the community, including the local community.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of organizational communication on the performance of health personnels of RSUD Kota Malang, which is assumed to be mediated by motivation The type of this research is explanatory quantitative. The study population consisted of 172 health personnel in RSUD Malang. The sample were determined using total sampling technique with cross sectional method. As many as 165 samples were collected. The results showed that organizational communication has a significant positive effect on motivation of health personnel in RSUD Malang; organizational communication has a significant positive effect on the performance of health personnel in RSUD Malang; motivation has a significant positive effect on the performance of health personnel at RSUD Malang; and motivation mediates the influence of organizational communication on the performance of health personnel in RSUD Malang.

Abstract

This paper attempts to explore the approach of a policy advocacy pursued by residents of Central Jebres RT 02 and 03 RW 25, Jebres Village, Jebres Sub district, Surakarta City to reject the eviction policy carried out by the Surakarta City Government for the expansion of the Solo Techno Park (STP) land. A method in the study used descriptive qualitative namely the handling of their phenomena and give providing theoretical interpretation. The findings in the field indicate that the residents of Central Jebres conduct a series of policy advocacy, which among others, such as the formation of a core circle, choosing strategic issues, setting goals and strategies, processing data and packaging information, mobilizing supporters, influencing policy implementers, forming public opinion, creating a basis for movement and the latter monitor the work program. The results of the policy advocacy series conducted by the residents of Central Jebres who have joined the Jebres Demangan citizen alliance have not received positive results.
