Abstract

Education at SMA Negeri 1 Tapaktuan is still faced with 4 obstacles in improving the quality of education, namely: (1) limited number of teachers and TU; (2) the uneven distribution of teachers; (3) lack of teacher professionalism; and (4) various facilities for teaching and learning activities that do not meet the standards, in particular the lack of procurement of Indonesian language textbooks that are relevant to the needs of students, schools, and regions in accordance with the demands of K-13. This research was conducted with the objectives of: (1) formulating the need for teaching materials according to teachers and students; (2) developing prototypes into Indonesian language and literature teaching materials with a thematic approach in high school; (3) knowing the effectiveness of the developed teaching materials; and (4) determine the feasibility of teaching materials for Indonesian language and literature with a thematic approach in high school. The research and development (R&D) method is used in this research to produce teaching materials. The results obtained:  1)  the  need  for  teaching  materials  according  to  teachers  and  students, paying attention to: (a) the language context for various language purposes, (b) keeping up with the times, (c) according to K13 by raising themes around students, (d) relevance between teacher and student teaching materials; (f) assignments/practices can activate students, (g) the material attracts students' interest, is clear, and easy to understand, and (h) is relatively ready to use in minimal school facilities; 2) developing prototypes into Indonesian language and literature teaching materials with a thematic approach in high school is done by: (a) compiling syllabus, lesson plans, teacher teaching materials and student teaching materials, (b) authentic  materials  and  assignments/exercises  developed  thematically  and situational and develop intellectual and affective insight, and (c) the assessment process is carried out by classroom assessment; 3) the results of the effectiveness test with  a  non-independent  t-test  showed  that  the thematic  teaching  materials  were effective; and 4) the results of the feasibility of developing Indonesian language and literature teaching materials with a thematic approach are stated to be good with components of content/material feasibility assessment 77.92%, linguistics 73.40%, material presentation 77.92%, and graphics 70.

Abstract

Learning media must be utilized optimally to help students achieve their learning objectives. Seeing students who are less enthusiastic in their learning process, this research attempts to develop a learning media that can enhance the learning interest of the first grade elementary school students, especially in learning Islamic religion subject. This research is a type of Research and Development or the so-called Research and Development (R&D), with a development model of Analysis, Design, Development or Production, Implementation or Delivery, and Evaluations (ADDIE). The product produced in this study is picture story book and student worksheet for the first grade students of elementary school, entitled I Love the Qur'an. The results of this study indicate that the quality of the product is included in the very feasible criteria with an average score of 4.85 for media experts and 4.132 for material experts. The developed media meets practical criteria with the average score of student response questionnaires for 5 score with a percentage of 100%. The developed media meets the effective criteria with the acquisition of an average score of student post-test results of 85.45 with the accomplishment percentage of 100%.

Abstract

With the emergence of the COVID-19 outbreak, face-to-face teaching and learning activities had to be temporarily suspended and replaced with online learning activities. Of course this is the first thing for students in carrying out online learning, and students must interact with new things where online learning uses internet-based learning applications. Which requires students to understand in this online learning. Because of this, many students find it difficult to do online learning. The purpose of this study was to describe students' difficulties in online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic in elementary schools. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative research with oral test, interview, and observation methods. The source of data analysis used in this research is primary data which is carried out directly with students, homeroom teachers, and parents of students, then followed by secondary data. In this study, researchers involved parents of students to understand what difficulties students experienced in online learning.

Abstract

The lack of use of learning media in schools and teacher-centered learning using the lecture method has an impact on low student learning outcomes. This study aims to develop a pop-up book learning media for students' understanding of the five senses material for grade 1 elementary school students. This development research uses the ADDIE research method. The sample taken from this study was a grade 1 student at SD Negeri 2 Selodoko. The final result of this study is a pop-up book learning medium for grade 1 on the material of the five human senses. Based on the results of the study, it shows that (1) pop-up book learning media developed using the ADDIE method go through 5 stages, namely analysis, planning, development, implementation and evaluation. (2) based on the results of the pop-up book learning media validators, it was declared valid with an assessment from media experts of 73%, material experts of 87.5% and Linguists of 63%. (3) based on the results of the pre-test and post-test students also showed an increase from an average of 71 to 91, it shows that pop-up book learning media is effectively used in the material of the five senses of grade 1 at SD Negeri 2 Selodoko.

Abstract

Online study had been conducted in Islamic Elementary School Teacher Study Program (PGMI) at UIN Ar-Raniry far before the pandemic happened, the difference was the studying process was not entirely conducted online at that time. Therefore, this study aims to know the Islamic Elementary School Teacher Study Program (PGMI) student’s perception toward the online study system during Covid-19, the problem faced while the study process and the solution used to anticipate the obstacle during online study. This research used a qualitative descriptive method with a total 40 samples from purposive sampling technique. The data collection was conducted by questionnaire via google form and interviewed 15 participants to collect the detailed information. The result shows there are various perceptions from the participants toward online study and some arguments with a highest percentage, 100% students said that the internet connection was the common problem while 90% of students have difficulties in understanding online material. Those are the problems faced by PGMI students during the online study process. Besides, the students are still able to find a place with a better internet connection and learn independently. In conclusion, the online study process held during Covid-19 pandemic was not effective based on the student’s perception.

Abstract

The learning process at SDN Cibuntu 01 which has not used learning models and interactive media makes learning monotonous and conventional. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model assisted by plotagon media on the activeness and learning outcomes of science in fifth grade elementary school students. This study uses a quantitative experimental approach with the Pre-Experiment method and the One Group Pretest Posttest design. By using saturated sampling technique, the research sample was obtained from one research class consisting of 27 students. The instrument in this study was a learning activity observation sheet and a test of learning outcomes in the form of multiple choice. Based on the results of the analysis of student activity, it was found that tcount (12,913) > ttable (2,064), as well as the results of the analysis of the learning outcomes test obtained tcount (14,736) > ttable (2,064). Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that there is an effect of using the STAD learning model assisted by plotagon media on the activity and learning outcomes of the fifth grade students of SDN Cibuntu 01.

Abstract

SD Plus Jabal Rahmah Mulia is one of elementary schools that prioritizes tahfidz learning by target of memorizing five juz for each graduate. Teaching memorization of Quran is not an easy, so the tahfidz teacher must use the right method. The method applied by one of the first grade tahfidz teachers at SD Plus Jabal Rahmah Mulia is Kitabah method and  Wahdah method. This study seeks to explore the steps for applying the Kitabah method and Wahdah method as well as examining factors that influence the success of students in achieving memorization target. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection techniques of observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis technique is through the stages of data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. Results showed that the steps of memorizing the Quran with Kitabah method and Wahdah method were 1) Students wrote the memorized verse, 2) Teacher tahfidz read the first verse with the rhythm of Imam Thoha Al Junayd, repeated ten times and followed by the students, 3) After all the students memorized correctly, followed by the next verse ten times, 4) Combining the first verse and the follow-up verse five times, 5) Teacher and students repeat the entire verse ten times. The determinants of student success in memorizing are health, psychological, intelligence and motivation factors.

Abstract

The development of education in Indonesia is undergoing rapid changes, therefore we as Indonesian citizens must prepare ourselves so as not to be out of date. In the teaching and learning process sometimes there are students who feel bored and bored when the lesson takes place so that they have difficulty in understanding the material presented by the teacher and cause low student learning outcomes. This study aims to determine whether or not plotagon media has an effect on the learning outcomes of fifth graders at SDN Cibuntu 01. The sample in this study was class V at SDN Cibuntu 01 which consisted of 2 groups of data, namely the experimental class of 27 students and the control class of 25 students. The instrument in this study used a learning outcomes test sheet in the form of multiple choice. The experimental design used in this study was the Posttest-Only Control Design method. Data analysis used independent sample t-test. It is obtained that the value of sig. 0.000 < 0.05 of Sig.(2-tailed). So it can be concluded that plotagon media can affect the value of student learning outcomes at SDN Cibuntu 01.

Abstract

The low interest in reading students in Indonesia is also in line with the low interest in writing. Interest in reading and writing is actually the foundation for someone to be able to improve their literacy skills. Interest in reading and writing is actually a foundation for someone to be able to improve their literacy skills. The purpose of this research is to find out learning models that can be applied to improve literacy. This type of research uses qualitative research with library research methods (literature review). The library selection technique is based on the keyword learning model on literacy. The literature comes from research results obtained on the undergraduate google page with a publication limit of the last 15 years. The literature study technique used a synthetic matrix based on reference sources, sample types, methods, interventions, and findings. The conclusion was that the application of a learning model that could improve reading and writing literacy could be done using the learning method.

Abstract

Student logic is an approach that makes it easy and can be used by teachers to implement meaningful learning and train critical thinking skills in presenting the text of the observation report. With this computational logic-based pocket teaching material, the researcher hopes that learning to present the text of the observation report will be more effective and creative and innovative because the computational learning approach involves students and can increase critical and independent thinking in learning to obtain information and meaningful learning experiences. Expert test results obtained a score of 80%. The results of small-scale testing obtained a score of 90%. The conclusion obtained from this study is that the teaching material of the text of the observation report based on computational logic in the form of a pocket book to develop self-reliance in learning to appreciate is included in the appropriate category.
