Abstract

Abstract: Allienation between Social studies in Indonesia nowadays caused by inconspicuous subject than other subjects. There are many factors that social studies became pathetic, such as society imaging about social studies, social studies subjects allocation among the schools, teachers performance and confidence, unavailable teacher for integrated social studies subject in junior high scholls and confused content standardization. Social studies need improvement towards better quality. In fact, Social studies in Indonesia influence by America’s that given integrated pespective for social studies. Should be, Indonesia applying integrated social studies in school. There are two models to integrate social studies, Social Phenomenon and topics from the subject depends on the points of view. Integrated learning for Social studies education is needed in University as best sollution into this problems nowadays

Abstract

Abstract. Social control is one mechanism to prevent social deviation and also is a work of the community so each one obey the rule and values that applied in the community. The obedience is needed to ensure the continuity of community life. The community of Tengger has developed a social control called “Pethekan”. Their working-together habit has tought them how local knowledge developed to ensure the continuity of their life social in a solid and harmonious state.

Abstract

Abstract: The revolution time can not be separated by the condition before it. Probolinggo is a small city, a port city that has agricultural and plantation support- since nineteenth century has important meaning for Dutch colonial government. As a part of Mataram Kingdom in the past time, the influences of Mataram are still so strong not only in field of town physical but also on social culture spheres. But its location is near Madura Island so many Madura people migrate easily to Probolonggo. The Madura people become majority inhabitants and there was acculturation in the cultural field between Javanese and Madura. The Javanese are still industrious in agricultural field and the Madura work on variation of occupations.

Abstract

May 1998 marks some of the most publicized accounts of violence against the ethnic Chinese minority in Indonesian history. It is important to notice that the word “publicized” is used, because the riots during the month were not the most violent attacks on the Chinese community in Indonesia. Although hundreds of Indonesian Chinese businesses and homes were destroyed across the archipelago and many Indonesian Chinese were killed, what especially garnered global attention was the claim that hundreds of ethnic Chinese women and young girls were raped and brutalized during the riots. The claim that there had been widespread, racially-inspired rapes and the attention they have received is of historical consequence for Indonesia and more importantly for the native [pribumi], middle-class, Indonesians, who generally prefer to think that racism is a thing of the past. This time Indonesians were forced to recognize that ethnic violence is an Indonesian problem and not just an Indonesian Chinese problem.

Abstract: There are many writings of pesantren (Islamic Boarding School), but only few of them have approprite standart of history writing (historiography). In spite of its independent mozaik, the story of pesantren has been recorded since its born It is necessary to investigate it deeper in term of methodological perspective, because pesantren as a enclave gives picture about journey of a society culture. The well done historiography of pesantren will give contribution to understand pesantren community rightly.

Abstract: Lapindo Mud Phenomenon in Porong, Sidoarjo was not local social problems but widespread into international problem. This problems encoutered three power there are State, Corporate and Civil Society. Phenomenology, studies about life experience organized as conflict, negotiation and identity production on the society life world. Mentioned slogan” Back to thing themselves” have done with Vokasio and Reduksio from the victim of Lapindo Mud. Negotiation classified into several type such as discussion, dialog, debate, demonstration, sending a letter to the corporate, fibbing, boycott, blocade, visiting upon DPRD until President. The populace considering state action to solve this problems more taken side into corporate than Lapondo Mud victims.

Abstract

Abstract: This research wants to try on explaining distribution of prehistoric cave sites in East Java and studies about relation between sites and environment as resource. Thus, this research does not study one site in detail, but it covers all prehistoric cave sites which be found in East Java areas. Trough this study, it will be tried to learn relationship between one site with another site with environment, and interpret how the past human made decision to choose location as settlement place and human activities life.

Abstract

Abstract: Tamansiswa is a cultural institution in the field of education. Founded by Suwardi Suryaningrat on 3 July 1922 and later known as Ki Hajar Dewantara, a multi talent person. In its curriculum, Tamansiswa gave balance between intelectual education, character and physical education. Character education was given to students of Tamansiswa because it has great benefits, especially for girls as their behavior guidance.
