Abstract

Teenagers are susceptible to deviant sexual behavior  such as premarital sex behaviors. The number of teens who do  premarital sex tend toincrease every year. Premarital sex is at risk of causing unwanted pregnancy and transmission of sexually transmitted diseases. This research aims to understandrelated factors with the intention to prevent premarital sex among female high school students . This is a analytic study used cross sectional design. Sampling was done randomly with a total sample of 75 respondents. Results of this research were analyzed using Gamma correlation test with significance level (α= 0.05). The results of statistical tests indicate that there is a positive relationship between knowledge (p value = 0.007 < α = 0.05) with the intention of preventing premarital sex.  Other factors such as the knowledge factors, media usage, attitudes,  subjective norms, perceived control is not associated with the intention to prevent premarital sex. The results showed that respondents have a good experience  to prevent premarital sex. Efforts to increase knowledge about preventing  premarital sex and monitoring the use of media is very necessary for adolescent to have intention to prevent premarital sex.  Keyword : premarital sex, high school , prevention

Abstract

The number of work accidents in Indonesia is still the highest in Southeast Asia. Accidents can be caused by several factors such as environmental, mechanical or human behavior. Work accident data at PT Lintech Duta Pratama Surabaya shows that accidents are still a lot of in this company. The dominant cause of work accidents in PT Lintech Duta Pratama Surabaya is the behavior of workers who do not use personal protective equipment  is safety glasses. Therefore, this study aims to determine the factors that affect the behavior of workers and use safety glasses according to the concept of HBM in order to reduce the high number of work accidents caused by unsafe behavior.This research is a Cross Sectional study where the research is done in a certain time. The sample of this study is the total of the working population in the production section of 74 people. Data analysis  this research is binary logistic regression test.The results showed that there was an influence between education(ρ = 0.015), knowledge (ρ = 0.047), self efficacy (ρ = 0.027), cues to action          (ρ = 0,000) with behavior in the use of safety glasses but. No correlation between ages        (ρ = 0.065 ), perceived susceptibility (ρ = 0.712), perceived seriousness (ρ = 0.208), perceived benefit (ρ = 0.063), perceived barrier (ρ = 0.565) with behavior in the use of safety glasses. The conclusions of this study are between knowledge education, self efficacy, cues to action to be associated with behavior in the use of safety glasses. Keywords: behavior, health belief model, work accident, PPE

Abstract

Discrimination to PLWHA (People Living With HIV&AIDS) still happen today. The lack of information about PLWHA and HIV&AIDS being caused to discrimination. So it need a health promotion which aim to increase people’s knowledge. Media which used determine success of information delivery to students in Antartika high school Surabaya, which is close to high frequency of PLWHA place in Surabaya. This research is implemented using Research and Development (R&D) design which aiming to develop a short film to promote health. The research use quesionnaire which given to 69 students. And an interview aiming to get characteristic of the targets. Beside it also conducted an expert review to get a feedback for the prototype and short film media that have been developed.Students of Antartika high school need to get information about PLWHA discrimination, HIV transmission, and the medium that bring HIV. Short flm that has been produced is adapted by students characteristic that loving Indonesian films with action genre and using bahasa. The film media has duration within 5 minutes and have a message that we must supporting PLWHA, not avoid them, using morale approach that aim targeting group that watching the film get a morale value.Keyword: health promotion media, PLWHA, discrimination, film

Abstract

Dental caries is one of the serious health problem in school age children. The maintenance of dental and oral health need to be done early in the prevention of dental caries. This study was conducted to analyze  the application of Health Belief Model theory on dental caries prevention  in elementary school students. This research was quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach. Sample were fifth grade student at SDN Kedurus 1 Surabaya amount to 53 students and taken by simple random sampling. The independent variable were perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, self-efficacy and cues to action. The dependent variable of this study was action in the prevention of dental caries. Quantitative data was analyzed using Spearman correlation test and logistic regression. The respondent action to prevent dental caries was good. There was a correlation between perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, self-efficacy and cues to action with action in preventing dental caries. This research concluded that perceived susceptibility was the most influencing factor in preventing dental caries. It was suggested to increase the effort of  promotive and preventive in school so that the students can more diligent in doing dental caries prevention action. Keyword: health belief model, dental caries, behavior of students

Abstract

Health promotion in hospitals have a purpose to  increase public knowledge by conducting, counseling, education and training, and strengthening humanresources to raise awareness, willingness and ability of people to live a clean and healthy. Health promotion in hospital can give the benefits to the hospitalnot only in phisically sides or currative phase. The purpose of writing this article isto discuss the implementation of health promotion efforts based on Ottawa Charter at Surabaya Oncology hospital. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative approach by direct observation and indepth interview. The implementation of health promotion on Onkologi Surabaya Hospital based on the five point of strategy health promotion in Ottawa Charter which are health public policy, supportive enviroment, reorient health services, personal skill, and community action has been appropriate. This is evidenced by the availability of mediathat support the implementation of health promotion, policy and the establishmentthe committee of PKRS. Also there are an effort to make community development as well as improving the skills of the individual in maintaining the health of the healthyindividuals as well as improve the health of the sick patient. The implementation of health promotion in hospital hopefully can make the patien’s  family can help  the patien not to infect the others especially to the family and their close friend. It also can make the patien increase their quality of living. Suggestion for Onkologi Hospital Surabaya based on the results of this study is to improve the evaluation system by conducting an evaluation in accordance with the rules that have been applied for the implementation of health promotion in the hospital can grow and run regularly.Keyword: Health Promotion on Hospital, Ottawa Charter

Abstract

Adolescence is a period of transition from children to adulthood. In thetransitional period, adolescents often face very complex and difficult issues totackle on their own. Since 2003, Ministry of Health (Kementerian Kesehatan) has developed a model of health services that is competing with Health Care service for Youth (PKPR). Puskesmas Tanah Kalikedinding has promotive and preventive activities especially related to adolescents. PKPR is certainly basedon every need and demand of teenage cadres around Tanah Kalikedinding area.The purpose of this study is to identify the needs and expectations of adolescentcadres on youth health programs. This research past descriptive research usingqualitative approach. The research subjects consist of peer educator of Rumah Remaja, one of innovative program of Puskesmas Tanah Kalikedinding which referto adolescent reproductive health, Adolescent Posyandu cadres, adolescentcadres in Al-Fitroh Pesantren and UKS cadres at SMAN 19 Surabaya. The number of informants used in this study are 6 persons. Data collection was obtained directly from the study sites using in-depth interview techniques and focus groupdiscussions (FGDs) conducted by researchers with related adolescent peer. The results showed that adolescents need activities that always provide innovation, activities are not only curative but more on activities that are promotive and preventive such as counseling teenage health, education,and socialization.Keyword: adolescent, program, health, need, expectation

Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional period from childhood to adulthood. In the transition, there are three stages that include growth process, development, and maturation of genital hormones, namely the primary and secondary change. Male and female adolescent also happen to experience these changes. However, the female adolescents are in a higher risk for having reproductive tract infection. The continuous reproductive tract infection can result in infertility until pregnancy occurs outside the womb. The causes of reproductive tract infection vary, such as improper personal hygiene behavior. Such behavior includes replacing sanitary napkin less than four times in a day, using inappropriate pad material, often using antiseptics to treat genetal, not replacing underwear twice a day, not changing sanitary napkin for each 1-hour to 2-hour usagein the first day of menstruation, and not replacing sanitary napkin after urinating, defecate, and bathing.The study aims at describing the behaviour of female adolesenctsaboutpersonal hygiene during menstruation in SMPN 2 Kras, Kediri district. The study uses descriptive research design. The population of the study is female adolescents at class VII and VIII with the total of 191 students. The study collects data from 130 respondents by using Simple Random Sampling. The result of general behaviour of female adolescents’ personal hygiene during menstruationshows 47 percentsalready meet the criteria, while 26 percents sufficiently meet the criteria, and 27 percentsdo not meet the criteria. It is suggested thatschool collaborates with local area health institutionsin providing basic activities to overcome such health problem. These activities can be done through communication, information and education (IEC) along with the distribution ofposter and leaflet about reproductive health especially personal hygiene during menstruation. Abstract

Superherofilm is a type of spectacle that is still widely consumed by children. Data from commonsense.org states that 68% of superhero films which aired in 2011-2016 have PG-13 ratings (Parental Strongly Cautioned) that contain violence and can have an impact on child development. Children who often watch television or movies tend to less concentration, less attention to the environment, and imitate what is shown. This study aimed to determine related factors of parental decisions in allowing children to watch violence films. This research was a quantitative with cross sectional approach. By using simple random sampling technique, the samples of this research taken as many as 93 parents of 3rd grade students at SDN Ketabang Surabaya. The data was collected by using questionnaire. This research used univariat and bivariate analysis. Most respondents are women (58.1%), age 28-45 years (79.6%), work as housewives (30.1%), and head of houshold have high income (68.8%). In relation to parental decisions in allowing children to watch violence films, most respondents have less knowledge (49.47%), less supportive attitude (84.94%), parents as personal reference in making decisions (68.82% ), unfulfilled facilities (52.69%), and high family culture (69.9%). Most respondents allow children to watch violence films (62.4%). The chisquare test showed that knowledge (p=0,000), availability of facilities (p=0,000), head of household income (p=0,000), and family culture (p = 0.002) are siginificantly related to parental decisions in allowing children to watch violence films. While the variables of attitude (p=0,096), personal references (p=0,249), and age (p=0,853) are not significantly related to parental decisions in allowing children to watch violence films.Keywords: children, parental decisions, superhero films, violence films

Abstract

Husband's support having a role in the success or failure of a mother to breastfeed her baby. The greater the support obtained to breastfeed, the greater the ability to survive. This research aimed to know the husband support with exclusive breastfeeding on infants aged 6-12 months. This research is a non experimental. Time approach used in this study is cross-sectional. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. In conducting data analysis of research results using Kendal Tau formula. This research was conducted at Posyandu Dewisari Kenteng Gadingsari Sanden Bantul Yogyakarta. The population in the study were 44 respondents. The samples in the study were 30 respondents,who had infants aged 6 to 12 months. This study showed that the support of husbands in exclusive breastfeeding included in high category as much as 70%, medium category 6.7% and low category 23.3%. The number of mothers who give exclusive breastfeeding in Posyandu Dewisari many as 16 mothers (53.3%). Mothers who didn't breastfeed exclusively are 14 women (46.7%). Based on the results of the relationship test is known that there is a relationship of support of the husband with exclusive breastfeeding.  It can be concluded if there is a relationship with the husband's support exclusive in breastfeeding. The socialization of the Health Promotion Program needs to be disseminated through various communication media for couples, families and the environment so that husbands' support for exclusive breastfeeding is met. In addition, the husband as the head of the household needs to perform his role as a “support system”, so that the mother can give exclusive breastfeeding by providing support, appreciation, emotional and instrumental  for  mother  that breastfeeding the babies until 6 months, so she can give exclusive breastfeeding.Keywords: Husband support , Exclusive Breastfeeding

Abstract

This research is about health promotion strategy in Health department, VICO Indonesia in 2016. VICO or Virginia Company is an oil and gas company. The main office is located in Jakarta and for the production, VICO have four stations (field) that is located in East Kalimantan. This research will be spesifictly describe the health promotion strategy that have been done in Badak Field, Muara Badak, Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan. The importance of strategy in health promotion is the reason why this research is done. Health promotion strategies are the means or steps needed to achieve or accelerate the health promotion goals. Ottawa Charter is basic of the health promotion strategy. The aim of this study is to describe the health promotion activities / programs in the Health department of VICO Indonesia, East Kalimantan 2016 based on five action means of Ottawa Charter. This research used a descriptive approach with data retrieval from observation, an interview, and supported by secondary data. VICO has a promotive and preventive section (promprev) inside the Health department, to take care of health promotion and prevention in VICO Indonesia. The results shows the activities that related to Ottawa Charter are the VICO president policy, facility compliance, education, socialization, inspection, training, as well as other activities related to health workers. The conclusion that can be drawn is the health promotion strategy at the VICO Indonesia Health department, East Kalimantan 2016, is up to standart with the five action means in Ottawa Charter Keyword: Health Promotion, Ottawa Charter, VICO Indonesia
