Abstract

Concern for environmental problems is needed from an early age. Environmental education in schools through the Caring and Cultured Environment program in schools (PBLHS) is one of the efforts to shape the environmental behavior of the younger generation. SDI Al-Mashduqie does not yet have programs related to environmental education and 'adiwiyata schools'. The aim of this community-based empowerment is to implement the PBLHS movement which is realized in the 'Adiwiyata School'. This activity was carried out with the participation of students, teachers, principals and student guardians who are expected to provide environmental insights for all school members. The existing conditions show that there is no specific policy regarding the environment that is applied in schools. Learning about the environment in the curriculum is integrated with several subjects and there is no involvement of external parties in environmental preservation activities. Increased knowledge was obtained after conducting education related to adiwiyata, especially regarding environmental care and waste management, as well as using several technologies to support a green and healthy environment in the form of redesigning school landscapes, hydroponic training, biofloc catfish cultivation and socialization related to energy conservation by using solar electricity.

Abstract

The buffalo-fighting rituals in Rambu Solo's funeral ceremony in Tana Toraja and North Toraja illustrates continuity and change in that community and the state of and alteration in economic stratification in Toraja. The number and type of buffaloes sacrificed at a funeral indicate the social class of the participants. Before the buffaloes are slaughtered, they are pitted against each other in a ritual fight to console the grieving family. This study was performed using ethnographic methods. It relied on participant observation and in-depth interviews. There are social gaps in funeral rituals in Toraja. However, the class itself is shifting. Previously, expensive events involving the sacrifices of many buffaloes were privileged to noble families. However, the ability to hold such ceremonies is open to anyone possessing wealth. Wealthy families who are not from noble lines can also hold such ceremonies. Contemporary ceremonies now feature gambling on buffalo fights. The fact that a buffalo-fighting arena is present at a funeral ceremony indicates the presence of gambling. Furthermore, such arenas can be expected to accompany the planned sacrifice of a large number of buffaloes. The increased presence of buffalo-fighting arenas and gambling at funeral ceremonies constitutes a new signifier for funeral ceremonies in Toraja.

Abstract

This study aims to find out and complement existing information related to the influence of e-trust, e-satisfaction, and social influence on purchase intention mediated by e-value. This is a survey research that uses quantitative methods with data collection techniques through online questionnaires which were distributed to 700 marketplace consumer respondents who had purchased cell phones or gadgets from January 2023 to June 2023. There were 700 questionnaires distributed and 233 returned, but only 155 were used according to this study’s criteria. This research was carried out through a validity test and a reliability test through the MSA test with the KMO and Bartlett tests. The hypothesis test used SEM-PLS through SmartPLS 3.3.9 software. The results showed that four of the seven hypotheses proposed in this study were proven positive and significant: the effect of e-trust on e-value and purchase intention, the effect of social influence on e-value and purchase intention, while the other hypotheses which could not be proven (not significant) were the effect of e-satisfaction on e-value and purchase intention, and the effect of e-value on purchase intention. In addition, indirectly, e-value plays a role in mediating the effect of e-trust and social influence on purchase intention because it is able to change (weaken) the significant effect to be insignificant. As for mediating the effect of e-satisfaction on purchase intention, the e-value variable is unable to mediate (strengthen) because the results are not significant or the same as the direct effect of e-satisfaction on purchase intention.
