Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see the implementation of limited face-to-face learning (PTM) during the COVID-19 pandemic on basic automotive engineering subjects at SMK NU Kaplongan. This study uses descriptive quantitative methods used to implement limited face-to-face learning, and pre-experimental (pre-experimental) to describe learning outcomes in the implementation of limited face-to-face learning. The design used in this study is a one-group pretest-posttest. The results showed that the implementation of limited face-to-face learning could significantly improve student learning outcomes. Before learning, students get a sufficient category, after strengthening the material and doing a post-test, students get a competent category. There is an increase in learning outcomes that occur in limited face-to-face learning, and there are also responses in the positive category from students regarding the implementation of limited face-to-face learning on Basic Automotive Engineering subjects (TDO Measuring Instruments)

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has become a global pandemic, it has an impact on the education. Direct learning system suddenly could not be implemented because suppressing the spread of the virus. Based on the joint decree of four ministers regarding guidelines for the implementation of learning system during the Covid-19 pandemic, limited direct learning is carried out. This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of limited direct learning on the results of the lathe machining competency test. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach and documentation studies. The instruments that used in this study are form of observation sheets of competency test results and sheet of assessment of competency test from partner industry. The result of this study showed that the implementation of limited direct learning has a positive impact to the result of lathe competency test obtained by student. The results showed that the implementation of limited direct learning had a positive impact on the results of student competency test, as evidenced by competency test scores by using the categories such as SK (sangat kompeten), K (kompeten), CK (cukup kompeten), and BK (belum kompeten). The scores obtained by students with their respective percentages are as much as 2%, 82%, 16%, and 0%.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the work posture and the level of ergonomics risk in the transmission overhaul practice activity which later resulted in recommendations for designing ergonomic practical tools based on anthropometry of students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education UPI. Descriptive method through a cross-sectoral approach is used to answer the objectives of this study. Instruments such as anthropometric questionnaires regarding the dimensions of student body measurements include data on upright height, length of arm span to the side, and length of arm forward. The Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) questionnaire was also used for ergonomic risk level data requirements. The data that has been obtained is then processed by means of a data uniformity test, data adequacy test, and percentile calculation to determine 3 students who represent body size at the 5th, 50th, and 95th percentiles and continue to practice transmission overhaul which will be observed through a questionnaire. The results of data processing in this study explained that students' unusual work postures such as the neck upturned, legs bent, and the position of the hands reaching upwards for a long enough duration to cause aches and pains after the practice was over. This is evidenced by the acquisition of an overall score of 7 which means it is necessary to investigate and make changes to the process as well as the tools used in the transmission overhaul practice.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) find out the difference in improving student learning outcomes between those who use the jigsaw-type cooperative model and students who use the lecture model, and (2) find out the increase in student learning outcomes   after applying the cooperative learning model with jigsaw type. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental. The experimental method is used to look for a causal relationship between two factors that the researcher deliberately caused. The population in this study was all Class XI students majoring in Motorcycle Business Engineering at one of the State Vocational Schools in Bandung totaling 5 classes. The research samples were taken in two classes, namely one experimental class and one control class, the sampling technique was carried out random sampling cluster. The instruments used are test instruments and obsrvation sheets. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the learning outcomes of students who used a jigsaw-type cooperative model and students who got learning with a lecture model. The average final score of learners using the jigsaw-type cooperative model was higher than those using lectures. The N-Gain value index of the jigsaw type cooperative model category is quite effective and the lecture model of its N-Gain index category is ineffective. Keywords: Learning Model; cooperative; jigsaw; Experimental; N-Gain

Abstract

This study aims to implement a cooperative learning model of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) type in improving student learning outcomes in the Basic Automotive Engineering (PDTO) subject of Motorcycle Engineering and Business Department at Setia Bhakti Vocational School, Cilawu Garut for the 2022/2023 academic year. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) uses the Kemmis and Taggart research model. The research flow consists of (1) Planning, (2) Action, (3) Observation, (4) Reflection. The subjects of this study were students of class X TBSM SMK Setia Bhakti, Cilawu Garut, totaling 25 students. The research data were obtained using student activity observation sheets, interviews with PDTO subject teachers and with learning outcomes tests. The technique used to analyze the data is a qualitative descriptive technique. The results of this study indicate an increase in the percentage of completeness of PDTO learning outcomes for students of class X TBSM SMK Setia Bhakti in each cycle. In Cycle I, the percentage of students' learning completeness was 56% with an average grade of 74.48. In the second cycle the percentage of students' learning completeness reached 93.75% with an average grade of 89.14.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of optimal practical infrastructure in vocational schools on the subject of light vehicle engine maintenance. This study aims to optimize the practice facilities at SMK PU Negeri Bandung. The method used in this research is a quantitative descriptive method with instruments of observation, interviews and documentation, then the collected data is processed statistically. The results showed that the light vehicle technique had the smallest ratio between the area of the room and the number of students among other skill competencies. The level of availability of infrastructure for an engine work area of 96 m², an electrical work area of 48 m², a chassis work area of 64 m², an instructor's room work area of 48 m² and an overall workshop area of 256 m² so that if categorized as standard workshop infrastructure at SMK PU Negeri Bandung 25% less than the standard BSNP and Permendiknas RI No. 40 of 2008. Therefore, optimization is done by making a practice schedule to increase the arrangement and use of practical infrastructure to 80%.
