KARSA is a peer-reviewed national journal published by Institut Agama Islam Negeri Madura. It has been nationally accredited SINTA 2 since 2017 by Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education of Republic Indonesia. It is published twice a year (June and December). It publishes articles of research results, applied theory studies, social issues, cultural studies, and Islamic culture issues. The aim of KARSA is to disseminate cutting-edge research that explores the interrelationship between social studies and (including) culture. The journal has scope and seeks to provide a forum for researchers interested in the interaction between social and cultural aspects across several disciplines. The journal publishes quality, original and state-of-the-art articles that may be theoretical or empirical in orientation and that advance our understanding of the intricate relationship between social science and culture. KARSA accepts manuscript with a different kind of languages are Indonesian, English, Arabic, or French.

AbstracFrom theological view, human must be able to appreciate the environment. Religious ethics toward nature takes mankind to be responsible so that they can avoid the damage. In other words, to trash the environments means to destroy the human themselves. On the basis of this context, religious-education institution is expected to prove the graduates with a standard commitment to conserve the ecology . Abstract

AbstracGlobal warming is a colossal problem, that many of us considered it as a regular matter in everyday life. I believe this case is merely because we don’t know what was exactly happened. Within the scope, I try to portray the humble ‘landscape’ of Madureese community in a glance. Madureese people basically are modest, polite but may have a strong willing on things. Just like others, while facing customary problems (not beliefs, ideology, nor religion), Madureese tend to take a position apart from it. Thus, one of the significance step we should take is to raise the level of the problem up, comparable to those five principle issues (i.e., religious conviction, life, possessions, relatives, and mind). And, if it was there, we should restate it and take the proper actions and pro actions. Therefore, this small reminder may become one of my contribution to the problem, warning all of us of what we are going to face.Kata-kata kunciecoliteracy,  global warming, aksi dan proaksi

Abstract

AbstracMadura coastal ecosystem has a variety of biological resources. It either has been productive  or possesses  a high quality economic value. The coastal area Aberration  becomes one of the factors of the coastal ecosystem damages. Furthermore, the uncontrolled exploitation of natural resources along the coastal areas exacerbates the damage. The absence of belonging sense among the coasters toward the mangrove forest- ecosystem seems the factor either. It needs a rehabilitation of mangrove forest to anticipate as well as to discontinue the damage area.  In order to apprehend this, a comprehensive maintenance of the whole stakeholders must be taken. Abstract

AbstracFor Indonesia, as an agro-country, soil remains the important factor of production that can take its people to prosperity. This has been determined by the ecological structure of a certain region as well. The later factor contributes the enrichment of agriculture production level. Unlike Java island that is dominated by sawah (watery field) farming system, Madura island is covered mostly by tegalan (dry filed). Having such kind of field, Madurese do a series of research and investigation. The result is that they are able to obtain a local knowledge. This is about how to manage local natural resources that sets up an cherished and equal relationship between environment and those people. It can avoid a massive exploitation. Local knowledge is a form of environment wisdom that has been traditionally maintained and inherited from generation to generation. In running the nature, Madurese cultivates a number of plant varieties. They include subsystem plants---rice and corn, and commercial plant such as tobacco. Abstract

AbstracThe city master plan connecting to its interior design has been the major requirement to develop a city. It comprises both private and public interest development. Therefore, every city development must intentionally consider environment harmony and balance. To carry out this, the government applies a tight development license. Ijin Lingkungan (environment care license) as a means of environment conservation, has not been ruled as a comprehensive environment care license. This license refers to a dual license systems---industrial license and Hinder Ordonannantie. On the other hand, Stb. 1926 No. 226 is not used any longer  as a reference of improving the system of environment care license. The government also recommends a continuity development.
