Abstract

Most cases of forensic clinic that was treated in hospital just use medical records to be poured into the visum et repertum clinic. Rarely asked to do an autopsy. In this case, the investigation team insisted on an autopsy performed on the grounds that the evidence obtained is more accurate. In this case, an autopsy of a body of a man, aged 30 years, died after 5 days previously experienced persecution in the form of stabbing on the left upper abdomen. Before surgery the victim had died after laparotomy Cito persecution and hospitalized for 5 days. Obtained from autopsy examination of pathological conditions such as a puncture scar that has been sewn in the gut left scars that have been sewn in the liver and pancreas, presence of jaundice, congestion, edema, organ, bleeding very much in the chest cavity with little blood clots, and many blood clots that stick to multiple organs in the abdomen. Based on the results of the autopsy concluded that the puncture wounds on the liver and the pancreas resulting in the mechanism of blood clotting disorders (Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation/ DIC) and multiple organ failure. The autopsy results are supported by the data as a condition of treatment of hypovolemic shock at admission level 3-4, and after a few hours of completed surgery, patients show the conditions that lead to a diagnosis of DIC, even the more severe conditions lead to multiple organ failure.

Abstract

A current research of screening and determination of codeine using Al-TLC Spectrophotodensitometry has been carried out. The separation was performed using TAEA mobile phase. Screening and confirmation were investigated by comparing hRfc of the analyte and hRfc those on data library. Combination hRfc vs correlation also been used as confirmation method, which can be enhanced by spectrum shift reaction using HCl 10% and KOH 0,1 M. The validation parameters were precission, linierity, limit of detection and quantitation (LOD & LOQ) and recovery.   TAEA mobile phase performed a good separation among morphine, codeine, caffeine, papaverine and bromhexine standards, which gave Rs value > 1. Test of linierity using regression gave correlation value > 0,99 . LOD and LOQ of Al-TLC were 137.85 ng and 459.63 ng. The recovery of codeine in human plasma using isopropanol as the precipitating agent was 77.1% ± 4.9 (6.5%).

Abstract

Pharmaceutical care takes an essential role in order to realize the patient safety caring with effective medication cost. It was studied the pharmaceutical caring in pharmacy-clinic-Unit of Wangaye Hospital-Denpasar, which provided to the hospitalization patients of PT. Askes (Persero)-Cabang Denpasar and the role of  the health insurance verification.  Aim of the study was to observe the role of pharmacist and health insurance verification in order to realize the patient safety caring with effective medication cost. The pharmacist in this unit has strived for a pharmaceutical praxis according to the pharmaceutical regulation but not yet optimal utilized his praxis to obtain a rational use of drugs and effective medical cost. There was not a pharmacist, which was employed by PT ASKES to verify the pharmaceutical praxis, which provided pharmaceutical care to the ASKES patients.

Abstract

Stature estimation from foot impression plays a vital role in forensic investigation. The present study aims to estimate stature from bilateral foot outlines collected from 240 consenting Bidayuhs (120 males, 120 females) residing in  East Malaysia and to generate population-specific equations. Ten outline length measurements were taken viz. five from left and five from right foot. The results indicated high significant positive correlation between height and foot outline lengths. The correlation coefficient (R) in pooled sample (0.854-0.878) shows comparatively higher than those of individual male (0.755-0.779), and female foot outline (0.666-0.750). Linear regression analysis presents smaller error of estimate. Thus, regression equations were derived for stature estimation from foot outlines lengths among Bidayuhs of East Malaysia even when sex remains unknown.

Abstract

The procedural and cost need for drumstick neutrophyl test as we know is more simple and cheap just than amelogenin DNA test. A few researches show the function of drumstick neutrophyl test and amelogenin DNA test forgender determination especially for live human. But still now there is no researches explain the validity of drumstick neutrophyl test than amelogenin gen by DNA-PCR to determine someone’s gender. This research isto find out the validity of live human’s gender determination, between drumstick neutrophyl test method and amelogenin DNA test method. This research used diagnostic test, with expected sensitifity is 90%. Twenty six blood sample which appropriate with the criteria was analyzed by drumstick neutrophyl test method and amelogenin DNA test method for their gender determination.Statistical analysis was done by two twice two table to determine sensitivity, spesificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, positive likelihood ratio and negative likelihood ratio. The sensitifity of drumstick neutrophyl test method than amelogenin DNA test method is 83,33%, the spesifity is 71,43%, the positive predictive value is 71,43%, the negative predictive value is 83,33%, positive likelihood ratio is 2,9167, and the negative likelihood ratio is 0,233375.
