Abstract

Gerakan Citarum Bestari is a program of the Government of West Java province in an attempt to improve the condition of Citarum River has decreased water quality and increasing the volume of garbage along the river. Program Bestari Citarum movement do change the mindset and behavior of people to have a sense of caring and aware of the cleanliness, beauty and sustainability of the Citarum River. The approach used is a qualitative approach with case study method . Data collected were interviews, observation, literature study and documentation study. The research subjects in this study were part of West Java province board and the community Dayeuhkolot . The results showed that: (1) This form of activity in the movement program Citarum Bestari among Gathering Governor community Dayeuhkolot, Ecovillages or village Cultured Environment, Festival Movement Citarum Bestari Forum Groups Discussion (FGD), Show Marionette Puppet and Competition Focus Citarum; (2) The results of the implementation of the program not been able to foster civic responsibility towards society Dayeuhkolot Citarum river environment; and (3) BPLHD in implementing the program experienced internal and external constraints.Keywords: Gerakan Citarum Bestari, Civic Responsibility, Dayeuhkolot

Abstract

In the middle of 1990 were built boarding school having a pattern of education thorough to create educational environment ideal in developing and to create character of students. This study was conducted in junior high school Daarut Tauhiid Boarding School Bandung. This study adopted qualitative approaches and methods of descriptive. Research findings dhow that : Forms an empathy and social care that reflected in learning activities civic education: appreciate a difference of opinion, to cooperate in team discussion, an expression of opinion students over a moral to prioritize the interests of others first .Then, in the program extracurricular namely participating in the activity of gathering funds and social activities. The culture of schools and dormitory the students reflected an empathy and socially responsible by providing aid tending if is sick, provide loans money, motivate have a friend sad, sensitive to problem those who around. Although there is still several things must be repaired next in system learning character in schools that integrated with curriculum based the value of a character in boarding. Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of use textbooks based on value as a learning resource Citizenship Education against the attitudes of citizenship (civic disposition) students junior high school. This research approach is quantitative with quasi-experimental design methods Nonequivalent Control Classes Design. Data collected through questionnaires, attitude scale, observation, documentation studies. Data analysis techniques with statistical description, normality test, homogeneity, different test two average. The findings of this research is : 1) Learning used a textbooks based on value visible the influence civic attitudes the student; 2) The attitude of Citizenship includes the private character and the public character. 3) There are significant differences the private character between of the initial measurement (pretest) with a final measurement (posttest); 4) There are significant differences the public character between of the initial measurement (pretest) with a final measurement (posttest); 5) There are significant differences the private character development between the class control with experiment class; 6) There are significant differences the public character development between the class control with experiment class; 7) There is a significant difference in the development of attitudes citizenship (civic disposition) between the class control with experiment class.Keywords: Value-Based Text Books, Learning Resources, Civics, Civic Disposition

Abstract

Education is one of the efforts to solve the problems in Indonesia, one of them in order to answer the challenges of the global era, namely the ASEAN Economic Community. The main concept of the AEC is to create ASEAN as a single market. Himpunan Pengusaha Muda Indonesia of Indonesia University of Education (HIPMI UPI) as a student organization that has a vision student print that has the character of entrepreneurship by conducting entrepreneurial character building. The approach and method that used are a qualitative approach and descriptive method. The collection of data obtained through interview, observation and documentation. Subject of this research are an adviser of HIPMI UPI, commitee of HIPMI UPI, members of HIPMI UPI and an entrepreneurship lecturers of UPI. The results showed that: 1) the process of fostering the entrepreneurial character of students is implemented through program of HIPMI UPI, starting with the recruitment of new members until the grouping of member businesses so as to facilitate to know their business conditions; 2) priorities division between academic, organizations and entrepreneurs make many members were not consistent in running their business; the efforts that conducted is the personal approach to members whose conducted by commitee or executive of HIPMI UPI.Keywords: Enterpreneurship, Civic Education, Economic Civic

Abstract

This research is motivated by appearance of some community organization which is not equal between quantity and quality as an organization of community empowerment. Existing community organization disoriented as thuggery and not maximal in community servicing. Community organization which conducted by the author in Sekepicung Village, Ciburial, shows that there is one community organization called PASSER (Paguyuban Ajen Sunda Seja Raharja). This research use qualitative research method with study case of some research subjects including PASSER members and caretakers, Sekepicung village community, and the head of RW 05 Sekepicung village. Data collecting is through observation, interview, literacy study, documentation, and note field. The result of this research shows that: 1) Programmes of PASSER to develop community cares is assessment programme or data estimation of community situation and programmes which contain mutual corporation and social service; 2) PASSER use emotional approach strategy and also interest and talent approach in the principle of family and kinship; 3) Barriers of PASSER including internal factor which is human resources and external factor which is conflict between PASSER and neighbourhood association caretaker. 4) The effort of PASSER to resolve that barrier is quality improvement of human resource specially in administration ability, develop good relationship with others organization, and build good communication with the neighbourhood association care taker.Keyword: Responsibility Character, Community Organization, Sekepicung Village, Character Building

Abstract

This study in the background backs after seeing class IX-J at SMPN 1 Cicalengka, which is still a lack of creative thinking abilities of students in the class, demonstrated by at least courage learners in conveying new ideas, because students often follow the idea of learners who are considered more intelligent, and teachers often use the lecture method of teaching. The method used in this research is a classroom action research. instruments used were interviews, observations, questionnaires, field notes, and documentation, while the findings of this research are: 1) Planning learning civics by using a model of discovery learning is to prepare lesson plans, and grouping learners 2) Implementation of learning civics by using a model of discovery learning to do as much three cycles, where teachers prepare the cases related to the material, then the teacher gives time for each group to perform analysis on the case, and each group presents alternative answers and ideas of the ideas of the group 3) Excellence model of discoery learning can enhance the creative thinking of learners 4 ) constraints experienced is the time required to implement the model discoery learning quite a lot, 5) the efforts that optimize the role of the teacher as a facilitator in the learning process.Key words: Model Discovery Learning, Creative Thinking, Civics Education.

Abstract

Text books have an important role for students education in the school. Text books is a learning resource to support the achievement of the objectives of learning competition. Through the books of each learner can follow new developments occur. The method used in this research is a step mixed methods research by combining two forms that already existed before the qualitative and quantitative research to see the use of textbooks. This research is done in SMP Negeri 44 Bandung with research subjects of class VII D and VII E, each consisting of 40 students. Data analysis techniques used in this research are qualitative data analysis and descriptive analysis. The results showed that the use of textbooks in the subjects of Civic Education may improve learning outcomes of students in class VII SMP Negeri 44 Bandung. Planning learning and implementation process applied learning by teachers of Civics in SMP Negeri 44 Bandung rated excellent by using text books. Teachers prepare Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) in accordance with the material that will be taught to students. In the learning phase of the things to note is the involvement of the physical, material, emotional, and mental learners. utilization of text books on the subjects of Civics in learning activities categorized as very good. Constraints experienced in the use of text books that use language that is not communicative so that learners are less interested in the material presented.Keywords: Text books, Civic Education, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of student organization that is related in the protocol in Protokoler Bumi Siliwangi UPI organization develop student leadership attitude. This research approach is qualitative descriptive method, to get the real and factual descriptian. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews, observation, literature study, study documentation and triangulation. The research found that 1) a curriculum Protokoler Bumi Siliwangi UPI organization referred to the rules of life (perdub), which governs the education and training (training); 2) the main of activity in the Protokoler Bumi Siliwangi UPI organization are divided into two: internal and external. Internal activities are activities of realization of the program of work, while the external activity is Keprotokoleran service activities; 3) methods used in developing the leadership style of leadership is democracy collaborated with authorit, and the responsibilities are distributed, and 4) the constraints faced by Protokoler Bumi Siliwangi organization UPI in developing attitude student leadership are contraints of personal and technical in field.Keywords: The Student Organization, Character, Leadership

Abstract

This study started from the researcher distress to the problem that occurs in class VIII-A SMPN 14 Bandung associated with the development of the creativity of the learners in learning Civic Education. This could be seen from the learning process centered on the educators or teacher centered and the learners were not accustomed to develop ideas in which later it poured into a product of learning. The method which was used was the method of classroom action research (PTK) with through the stages of plan, implementation, observation, analysis and reflection on classes VIII-A SMPN 14 Bandung. The data collection techniques which were used were observation, interview, field note, documentation study, and questionnaires. Based on the results of the action research, the use of short film media as a medium of Civic Education learning process had succeeded in developing the creativity of the learners. This improvement could be seen from the results of the implementation of the research conducted during three cycles, the students were able to make and featured short films creatively in accordance with the materials in the Civic Education learning process. The improvementwas seen in the characteristics or creativity indicators of the learners which were grown. Thus, short film media utilization as a Civic Education learning media can develop the creativity of learners.Keywords: Media Short Film, Student Creativity

Abstract

The rapid impact of globalization, is not impossible to affect indigenous cultures into our identity as a nation and would undermine nationalism. Indonesian national vision to give the role to the Indonesian people to proactively anticipate the development of the environment in changing times. As one way of implementing the values of the concept of nationalism in increasing nationalism could through student organizations. This study used a qualitative approach and methods of comparative studies. Data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research findings show that construction vision and mission of the BEM REMA UPI and BEM KEMA UNPAD have the same perception, where the vision and mission of the organization used as a direction in movement. Foreign Ministry views of members of BEM REMA UPI and BEM KEMA UNPAD have the same view that the program is designed is a positive thing for the members and all students in the changing attitude towards his country, as an implementation of the values of national awareness. The efforts by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs BEM REMA UPI that is by awareness of its role and functions of the students, the intellectual level of students, improved coordination and information, network expansion (link), and a regeneration system. While the efforts by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs BEM KEMA UNPAD to reform the role of students, the approach to the community, network with community organizations, and alumni, regeneration system, upgrading the entire board, campaign literate culture.Keywords: Implementation, Values, Concept of Nationalism, Student Organizations, and Nationalism
