Abstract

This article discusses the collection of audio-visual as a tool of cultural promotion in Korean Culture Center (KCC) library. This tyoe of research is qualitative research using the case study method. The case study method is used to determine how the audio-visual collection becomes a tool of cultural promotion in KCC library. Audio-visual collections in library increased function not only as a conduit of information for teaching or research, but also a tool of cultural promotion. It happened in the library embassies in each country, such as in the KCC library in Jakarta. KCC library makes audio-visual collections as s tool of cultural promotion of their country through the collection of Korean drama or Korean music.

Abstract

Abstrak Literasi Informasi telah menjadi keterampilan penting pustakawan di era global saat ini. Informasi keaksaraan bagi pustakawan tidak hanya ditandai melek dan hanya untuk membacanya. Tetapi aplikasi mempunyai nilai lebih. Pustakawan harus menjadi manajer ilmu. Pustakawan harus bergerak sesuai dengan perubahan teknologi terus bergerak maju dan pustakawan harus mampu beradaptasi sebagai pencari dan pemberi informasi dalam bentuk apapun. Saat ini pustakawan dituntut tidak hanya perawatan terampil dari buku atau jenis media lainnya, tetapi juga untuk menguasai literasi informasi. Dengan demikian, pustakawan harus memiliki komitmen dan sadar untuk mengakses, memahami dan menggunakan informasi yang dikumpulkan untuk dikomunikasikan kepada orang yang membutuhkan.AbstractInformation Literacy has become important skill of librarians in today's global era. Information literacy for librarians not only marked a literate and just to read it. But the application is more. Librarians must be a manager of science. Responding to this, the librarian must be run in accordance with the changing technology continues to move forward and librarians should be able to adapt as a seeker and giver of information in any form. Nowadays librarians are required not only skilled care of a book or other media types, but also to master the required search information literacy. Thus, librarians should have commitment and conscious in order to access, understand and use the information gathered to be communicated to people in need.

Abstract

This research took place at the Regional  Library Office of Sleman Regency. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship of librarians with users at the Regional Library Office of Sleman Regency. This research uses qualitative method with descriptive approach. Data collection methods used were observation and interview. The results of this study indicate that the code of ethics of librarians at the Regional Library Office of Sleman Regency has been implemented as best as possible although there are still some obligations that have not been implemented maximally. This research seeks to contribute to the development of science, to help the socialization of the code of conduct and at the same time become inputs for the IPI. Penelitian ini bertempat di Kantor Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Sleman. Tujuan dari penelitian  ini  adalah  untuk  mengetahui hubungan pustakawan dengan pengguna pada Kantor Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Sleman. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kode etik pustakawan pada Kantor Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Sleman telah dilaksanakan sebaik mungkin walau masih ada sebagian kewajiban yang belum diimplementasikan secara maksimal. Penelitian ini berupaya memberikan sumbangan  terhadap pengembangan  ilmu  pengetahuan,  membantu  sosialisasi kode etik dan sekaligus menjadi masukan-masukan untuk IPI.

Abstract

Perpustakaan perguruan tinggi sebagai “fountain of knowledge” bagi perguruan tinggi, tidak hanya memerlukan pengembangan gedung/ruang yang  memadai, koleksi yang sesuai  kebutuhan pengguna, namun juga perlu peningkatan kualitas pustakawan. Pustakawan berkualitas tinggi merupakan tuntutan perpustakaan perguruan tinggi.Pustakawan berkualitas tinggi memiliki ideology yang kuat, kualitas pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang baik, serta memiliki semangat perintis inovasi. Kemajuan teknologi dan akses informasi, tuntutan pemustaka yang beragam, dan pengembangan perpustakaan merupakan urgensi pustakawan berkualitas tinggi bagi perpustakaan perguruan tinggi.

Abstract

Archival is something that can not be separated from an organization or institution, archival has such an important role, it can be considered when making a decission or be a concrete evidence. In its development, the archive keep following techonological changes, now archives are not only the shape of an object but also something that stored digitally known as electronic archives. Record managemet is an effort done by archival association to provide service in accordance with the character of today’s society, through this article the writer wants to convey about the management of both digital and conventional archives as well as the software that became modern media in archival management in order to facilitate the task and archival services.

Abstract

 AbstrakPersaingan di era MEA atau sering disebut dengan istilah EAC (Asian Economic Community) semakin ketat dan semakin terbuka, untuk itu masyarakat Indonesia dituntut dapat bersaing dalam skala internasional. Perpustakaan sebagai lembaga penyedia informasi harus bisa menyediakan sumber-sumber informasi yang aktual dan sesuai yang dibutuhkan oleh masyarakat pemustaka. Kualitas layanan dan kemampuan pustakawan harus lebih ditingkatkan, agar perannya tidak dapat digantikan oleh penyedia jasa lainnya. Kualitas layanan menjadi sebuah sorotan awal bagi setiap pemustaka, untuk itu layanan yang baik akan mencerminkan diri perpustakaan. Peningkatan kualitas layanan ada dua, yaitu functional quality dan technical quality. Functional quality berhubungan dengan kelengkapan koleksi, ketersediaan fasilitas dan sarana prasarana yang memadai. Technical qulity berhubungan dengan keahlian pustakawan yang dituntut harus multitasking. Kompetensi yang harus dimiliki oleh pustakawan yaitu soft skill yang baik, diantaranya memiliki interpersonal skill dan hospitality skill yang baik. Selain itu Kemampuan dalam hal keilmuan (technology skill, language skill, peran dalam dunia pendidikan) harus ditingkatkan, mengingat masyarakat pemustaka semakin ke sini semakin canggih.   AbstractCompetition in the era of MEA or AEC (Asian Economic Community) is getting tighter and more open, to the people of Indonesia are required to compete on international scale. Libraries as information providers must be able to provide sources of actual and appropriate information needed by the user community. The quality of service and the ability of librarians should be improved, so that its role can not be replaced by other service providers. Quality of service becomes an early spotlight for each user, for the service which will better reflect the library themselves. Improved quality of service there are two, namely functional quality and technical quality. Functional quality associated with the completeness of the collection, availability of facilities and adequate infrastructure. Technicalqulity expertiseassociated with librarians who are required to be multitasking. Competencies that must be owned by a librarian is soft a goodskills, which have interpersonal skills and hospitality skills are good. In addition to the ability in terms of science (technology skills, language skills, role in education) should be increased, given the growing user community here more sophisticated.

Abstract

This study aims to find out whether there is a significant correlation between information in Line Today with the fulfillment of cognitive needs, affective needs, personal integrative needs, social integrative needs and escapist needs of students of Faculty of Communication Sciences Universitas Padjadjaran. This research method used the correlational quantitative method by using Pearson Product Moment. The main theory used in this research is information seeking from Donohew and Tipton. The population of this research was the active student of Faculty of Communication Sciences Universitas Padjadjaran who use Line and drawn sample with amount 150 using sample size, proportion of binomial, and sampling error table. The result shows that there is a significant correlation between information in Line Today with the fulfillment of cognitive needs, affective needs, personal integrative needs, social integrative needs and escapist needs of students Faculty of Communication Sciences Universitas Padjadjaran

Abstract

This study titled Contextualization of Collection Development Policy to fulfill  the information need of users: A case study in the library of State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, researcher analyzed how contextualization of collection development policy of the Library of State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga have an impact to the suitability of information served to the users. This study uses qualitative descriptive approach. From the results of research conducted by the researcher, the result is the contextualization of collection development policy carried out by the Library of State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, is not maximized, because the librarian have not been given full authority in the management of the library budget.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to produce a web-based library information system, and produce operational guide of web-based library information system. Product web-based library information system which has been developed then validated by experts of information technology in web fields, practitioner (teacher) and practitioner (librarian). Products which have been validated next tested on 5th grade students of SDN Watukosek of the 36 children. Research results show the expert assessment of the information technology in web fields, practitioner teacher, librarian and practitioner gives criteria "Very Valid", while the results of field trials to the gives students the criteria of "Very Good", so that the web-based library information system fit for use.

Abstract

AbstrakKurasi digital adalah istilah yang sangat baru dan terkait dengan perkembangan preservasi digital dan pengarsipan digital. Ini adalah istilah yang relatif baru yang menggabungkan dua aspek konsep yang ada yaitu, "data kurasi" dan "pelestarian digital" terutama dipergunakan oleh bidang Perpustakaan dan Arsip. Penggunaannya dimaksudkan untuk membangun jembatan di antara keduanya yang mencerminkan pendekatan baru. Digital Curation Center (DCC) memberikan istilah kurasi digital dalam kaitan menjaga dan memberikan nilai tambah dalam informasi digital untuk digunakan saat ini dan masa depan.  Sedangkan Kurasi secara umum dipahami sebagai proses manajemen aktif dan penilaian data selama siklus hidup ilmiahnya. Meskipun tidak semua informasi digital dihasilkan akan memiliki nilai jangka panjang dan menjadi komponen yang penting. Nilai jangka panjang dan volume informasi akan bervariasi antara disiplin ilmu dan berbagai kategori bahan, konsekuensinya, diperlukan seleksi, kurasi dan pelestarian jangka panjang, sehingga dapat digunakan di masa depan.                                                AbstractDigital curation is very new term and associated with development of digital preservation and digital archiving. This is a relatively new term that combines two aspects of existing concepts "data curation" and "digital preservation", used primarily by Library and Archives. Its use is intended to build bridges between those that reflect a new approach. Digital Curation Center (DCC) gives the term digital curation to maintaining and provide added value in digital information for today and future use. Meanwhile, the general term of Curation is conceived as active management process and assessment activity of data during its scientific lifecycle. While not all digital information generated will have long-term value, and important components. Long-term value and information volume will vary between disciplines and various categories of materials, consequently, it is required selection, curation and long-term preservation, so it can be used in the future.
