Abstract

This writing describes a great rivalry between environmental and economical interests. When experts on environment are worried that free trade may create harm on natural resources as it has been allegedly blamed to bring about environmental disaster, the supporters of free trade are concerned that policies on environment may lead to huge breakdown in trading activities. Taken that to match the two might be difficult, if not impossible, this writing is trying to harmonize them. Through communicative action, the writer applies possibly compromised gaps, in order that our merely one world will continuously provide the needs of human beings for nowadays and for the future.

Abstract

This article is aimed at delving into the very meaning of prophetic politics from various angles, and at the same time, criticizing the current labeling of ‘prophetic,’ which is mostly applied to legitimate and accelerate a double operation of certain pseudo socio-political interests. The word ‘prophetic’ should truly rely upon the conceptual nature of prophetus. First is to compare the history of philosophy to explain the position of propheticness within philosophical establishment which deals with the way to understand the history. Second is to explore the term of insan kamil as narative media to explain ‘human beings’ and the installation of ‘perfect human beings’.

Islam is believed to be a revealed religion, which covers all aspects of life. Muslims all over the world nowadays face many obstacles, both religious and worldly ones. One of them is the issue of Islamic politics, which further fall apart into two streams, the relation between ratio and revelation and between politics and religion. Indeed, both have interconnection. Abstract

This paper describes the existence of state in both concept and political reality in Islam. Discourse on state has been within the study of Islam since classical era. Muslim jurists, normatively position state as dharuriyat (things of importance), while some Muslim thinkers present their ideas on state and the ideal forms and systems of governance, even though there is no such firm and detailed regulations in the Quran and hadith on these issues. Historically, discourse on state may distinguish Islam from other world religions. Islam, since its initial establishment, has been involved with the issue of state and governance, even with political issues at large. Historical facts showed de facto fragmentation within the empire of Islam since 850. The characters of Muslim rulers had nothing to do with the ideal existence of Islamic state. Divisions, conflicts, and even bloodshed had been part of empirical Muslims at that time. It shows that there has been yet no synergy in matching normative Islamic state and historical Islam.

Abstract

This research is aimed at observing the efforts of West Sulawesi government to sell its local potentials to international markets. To achieve this aim, this research applies qualitative descriptive analysis by studying cases of foreign investments to gather detailed empirical data of reseach analysis units. The data are collected through libarary visit, interviews and observation to obtain both primary and secondary ones. The result shows that the efforts of West Sulawesi government to sell its local potentials are still less even though the opportunities to attract foreign investments are largely available. In order to overcome this issue, there should be a synergic effort to minimize possible heavy challenges. Keywords: Internasionalisasi, Intervensi Asing, dan Sulawesi Barat

Abstract

Human being is ‘zoon politicon’ and human being lives to get involved in politics. This classic statement by Aristotles is still relevant to relate to the political system within the community today. Political structure was established to enhance and to fulfill all needs of human life. Due to this, political system may be applied to all walks of life. For common people, political structure is mainly based on family tree and bloodlines.
