Abstract

Subjek dalam penelitian ini diminta menyelesaikan masalah sekaligus mengungkapkan pikirannya secara think aloud. Untuk mengeksplorasi proses berpikir lebih dalam dilakukan wawancara. Data tertulis dan data verbal yang diperoleh dikaji dan dianalisis berdasarkan teori proses berpikir milik Robert Swartz yang meliputi empat tahap yaitu, menghasilkan ide-ide (generating ideas), menjelaskan ide-ide (clarifying ideas), menilai kelayakan/ kepantasan ide-ide (assessing the reasonableness of ideas), dan berpikir kompleks (complex thinking). Hasil validasi instrumen lembar tugas dan instrumen wawancara yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini memperoleh kriteria sangat valid. Dari hasil penelitian dapat dijelaskan bahwa S1 mengonstruksi bukti dengan induksi matematika secara lengkap dan benar.

Abstract

Based on observations found that students can not explain the concept that already taught and also can not give examples of problems in everyday life related to the concept being taught. It shows that students do not have the ability to be an indicator of understanding. Based on interviews found that teachers often use the problem-based learning, but in the implementation tends to the teacher centered learning. To solve the that problems then held action classroom  research that used problem-based learning. With problem-based learning can enhance an understanding that shown by student have an ability to correspond with the seven indicators of understanding. Problem-based learning that has been able to increase the students understanding of mathematics consists of five stages, namely: a) Reading problems. b) Defining the problem. c) Find the idea "Brainstroming". d) Solve the problem. e) Share learning result. Learning has developed seven indicators of mathematical understanding, namely: interpretation, exampling, classify, summarize, inferring, comparing, and explaining. Each indicator score, then score is accumulated into a final score. Resulting 83% of all students, ie 29 of 35 the number of classes students have had a score of more than or equal to 75. In fact, there are two students who received a score of 100.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the application of the theory a Dienes through traditional games bandaran to improve calculate multiplication. This study used a qualitative approach to the type of classroom action research (PTK), which consists of two cycles, each cycle consisting of three meetings. Subjects in the study were students in grade 2 SDN Tanjungsari 1 Kota Blitar totaling 27 students. In collecting the data, researchers using observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The results showed an increase in activity of the teacher in the first cycle of 76% and cycle II of 92.5%. Increased activity of students also increased from the first cycle of 73.65% and 85.45% second cycle. And the results of this study showed a significant improvement of learning outcomes classical completeness of 11.11 from before action is taken by looking at the average daily tests carried out before and after the final test cycle 1. The student learning outcomes of the first cycle has increased by 9, 82 to cycle 2. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of the theory through traditional games bandaran Dienes done in the subjects of Mathematics 2nd grade at SDN Tanjungsari 1 can improve numeracy skills and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Artikel ini mendeskripsikan kesalahan struktur berpikir dari seorang siswa SMP kelas VIII dalam menyelesaikan masalah geometri. Kesalahan siswa dideskripsikan berdasarkan teori kesalahan konstruksi konsep dan pemecahan masalah matematika oleh Subanji (2015). Selanjutnya, peneliti melakukan defragmenting terhadap struktur berpikir siswa subjek sehingga siswa dapat menyelesaikan masalah dengan tepat. Siswa subjek mengalami mislogical construction dan lubang konstruksi. Mislogical construction terjadi karena siswa mengalami kesalahan logika dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Lubang konstruksi terjadi karena terdapat skema tertentu belum lengkap pada struktur berpikir siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Defragmenting yang dilakukan terhadap subjek adalah mengatasi mislogical construction siswa dengan memberinya conflict cognitif agar skema yang salah koneksi dapat terurai kembali. Selanjutnya, lubang konstruksi diatasi dengan memunculkan skema-skema yang diperlukan dan merajut skema-skema yang telah ada sehingga menjadi struktur yang lengkap sehingga siswa dapat meneyelesaikan masalah dengan tepat. Scaffolding digunakna untuk memfasilitasi hal tersebut.

Abstract

The aim of the development is to describe a valid, practical and effective process and the result of the development of Kotak Barisan game used in "Series and Sequence" apperception activity for enhancing the tenth grade students’ motivation. Development model that is used is Plomp model consisting of three stages, which are preliminary research, prototyping phase, and assessment phase. The result is, based on the analysis, the validity reaches 80,5% belonging to level of valid. Three-instrument practicality test shows that the game belongs to the level of practice. Then, comparing the result of effectivity test, the number of motivated students increase for 4 students compared to prior to do the test. Hence, Kotak Barisan game enhances motivation effectively

Abstract

Hasil observasi dan uji pendahuluan pada beberapa SMP di kota Malang menunjukkan bahwa siswa masih kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan masalah aljabar. Hal tersebut karena siswa masih kesulitan dalam membuat koneksi matematika dengan kehidupan sehari-hari, koneksi konsep aljabar dengan konsep lain dimatematika, serta koneksi antar konsep aljabar. Respon yang ditunjukkan beberapa siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah aljabar pada uji pendahuluan hanya sampai pada level multistructural pada taksonomi SOLO. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi respon yang diberikan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah adalah gaya kognitif. Gaya kognitif berdasarkan penggunaan waktu dan jumlah kesalahan yang dibuat menurut Kagan dan Kogan adalah gaya kognitif reflektif dan impulsif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan proses koneksi matematis siswa bergaya kognitif reflektif dalam menyelesaikan masalah aljabar berdasarkan taksonomi SOLO. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan instrumen tes gaya kognitif, tes koneksi, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa bergaya kognitif reflektif mampu menggunakan semua informasi yang diketahui kemudian menghubungkan semua informasi tersebut sehingga dapat menyelesaikan permasalahan yang diberikan. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka proses koneksi matematis siswa bergaya kognitif reflektif dalam menyelesaikan masalah aljabar mencapai level relational hingga level extended abstract pada taksonomi SOLO.

Abstract

This research is development research. Objective Research and development is to describe the process and results of development characterized guided discovery to students of class X are valid, practical and effective to improve students mathematical reasoning. Expected product specification is characterized by the RPP and LKS guided discovery. This study uses Plomp  development model (2007) which consists of two stages: preliminary research (initial research) and prototyping (development stage). Based on the results of a small trial, showed that the developed learning tools valid criteria, practical, and effective. So,the product of development can be used as mathematic learning device in sequance and series, because   achieve valid, practical, and effective criteria.

Abstract

Based on the results of preliminary observations on the fourth grade SDN 1 Wanci obtained mathematics student learning outcomes is low, due to their lessons in class tersbut still conventional, so that students are less motivated and active in learning. That makes researchers made repairs learning process by conducting action research class at the school. This study aims to boost student learning outcomes in the material properties of integer arithmetic operations by implementing cooperative learning NHT. This research is a classroom action research (action research class room). The subjects were fifth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Wanci totaling 28 people, consisting of 16 male students and 12 female students. This study gives a chance in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings. The learning process in every meeting in this study, conducted in accordance with the steps of cooperative learning NHT namely (1) the stage of group formation and numbering, (2) asking questions, (3) thinking together, and (4) the stage to answer questions. After going through two cycles of the learning process then, it can be stated implementation of cooperative learning NHT could improve the results of students mathematics learning in the material properties of arithmetic operations of integers class V SD Negeri 1 Wanci, with the percentage of the acquisition value of the test results on silus 1 by 75% or No 21 students who scored above the minimum completeness criteria, and a 21% increase in cycle 2 which becomes a 96% or there were 27 students who were able to scored above the minimum completeness criteria.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penalaran proporsional siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah multiplikatif tipe product of measurement. Subjek yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini yaitu tiga orang siswa kelas VIII.1 SMPN 21 Malang. Teknik pemilihan subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling atau disebut juga judgment sampling. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini berdasarkan tiga langkah analisis yaitu mereduksi data, menyajikan data, dan menarik kesimpulan/verifikasi. Data yang diperoleh dikaji dan dianalisis berdasarkan teori membangun penalaran proporsional oleh Bexter dan Junker yang terdiri dari lima tahap yaitu, (1) qualitative, (2) early attempts at quantifying, (3) recognition of multiplicative relationships, (4) accommodating covariance and invariance, dan (5) functional and scalar relationships. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa siswa dengan kemampuan rendah (S1) menyelesaikan masalah dengan cara mendaftar banyaknya pengukuran yang pertama kemudian memasangkan dengan pengukuran yang kedua dengan cara menjumlahkan kedua pengukuran tesebut, sehingga penalaran proporsional S1 berada pada tahap early attempts at quantifying. Siswa dengan kemampuan sedang (S2) menyelesaikan masalah dengan cara mendaftar semua kemungkinan yang ada kemudian menjumlahkan semuanya, sehingga penalaran proporsional S2 berada pada tahap recognition of multiplicative relationships. Siswa dengan kemampuan tinggi (S3) menyelesaikan masalah dengan cara mendaftar banyaknya pengukuran yang pertama kemudian mengalikan dengan pengukuran yang kedua, sehingga penalaran proporsional S3 berada pada tahap accommodating covariance and invariance.

Abstract

Learning mathematics in grade 1 using pieces of instructional media will generate motivation, stimulating learning activities, abstract concept and bring the psychological effects of a child. This study aims to generate media box material to know numbers and operations are valid, practical, effective and attractive. The model of development used modification 4D model developed by Thiagarajan. Validation results declared invalid by subject matter experts and very valid by media experts. Practicality and attractiveness of the product reaches 94 % categorized as very practical and very attractive. While the effectiveness of a product is marked with the positive response of students who achieve mastery of at least about 82 %
