Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan aliran utilitarianisme dalam filsafat hukum dan implementasinya di Indonesia dalam bentuk peraturan-peraturan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pustaka dengan analisis pendekatan deskriptif yang bersumber dari buku-buku dan jurnal-jurnal ilmiah. Penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa aliran utilitarianisme memiliki konsep yang mengedepankan kebahagian individu sebagai landasan dalam membuat hukum. Aliran ini dipengaruhi oleh beberapa tokoh diantaranya Jeremy Bentham, John Stuart Mill dan Rudolf Von Jhering. Aliran ini berkembang pada abad ke-18 yang di pelopori pertama kali oleh Jeremy Bentham. Aliran Utilitarianisme terus berkembang di Indonesia hingga sekarang dalam bentuk beberapa peraturan pemerintahan. Walaupun masih terdapat berbagai kelemahan dari berbagai aspek.

Abstract

The background of this research is because of the reality in the field, that the Friday sermon delivered by the khatib has yet to have a good appeal in the sermon. The purpose of this study First is to know how the style of the khatib in the delivery of the Friday sermon, Secondly, to know how the choice of the word of the khatib in the delivery of the Friday sermon, Third, to know how the tone of the khatib in the delivery of Friday sermon, and Fourth, to learn how the sentence structure of the khatib in the delivery of the sermon of Friday. This study uses a qualitative research methodology with observation data collection techniques, and interviews. This study found that the application of rhetoric by the Friday khutib in the sermon had not fully progressed as most khatib had not yet understood rhetoric. This is evident from the diction applied by the khatib not in accordance with the condition of the congregation, the application of repetition of the word does not conform to the rules of repetition. And there's also a lot of words. The relationship between sentence one with another sentence still does not use the correct word. And the emphasis on what matters is still not seen. The intonation conveyed by the khatib has not produced the appropriate variation, then the presentation is still monotonous and creates the jema'ah friday.

Abstract

This research is about hand-kissing behavior done by santri, students at traditional Muslim school, towards their teachers in Nurul Yaqin Islamic boarding school. Nurul Yaqin's santri-style greetings have their meanings. Researchers focus on discussing the ways, meanings and meanings construction process in the hand-kissing behavior. This study aims to investigate how santri do hand-kissing in detail to their teachers, as well as examine more deeply the meaning and meaning construction process of the symbolic behavior of hand-kissing. This study uses qualitative research methods with a phenomenological approach. The results showed that the hand-kissing was done by kissing the back of the hand, then inverted to then kiss the palm, the kiss is inhaled using the nose. The meaning of the hand-kissing is a symbol of the blessing of zahir and inner knowledge obtained from the teachers to Allah SWT. The construction process of meaning starts from the beginning of the santri entering the cottage. At that time the students had their own meaning to the behavior of the hands-kissing. After some time, the meanings are equated with the meanings given by Shaykh al-Ma'ad. This process of equating meaning is done by asking directly to Shaykh al-Ma'ad, their teachers and seniors.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the role of pesantren (Indonesian Islamic boarding schools) in West Sumatra in countering religious radicalism. The two pesantren used as case studies are the Pesantren Sumatera Thawalib Parabek Banuhampu and the Perguruan Islam Darul Muwahhidin Panyalaian West Sumatra. This issue is critical to reveal because radicalism targets adults and Islamic boarding school students who are in the process of deepening and understanding religious knowledge. The existence of pesantren in educating students and instilling friendly Islamic values has become a little disturbed by the issue of radicalism which has spread to pesantren. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a historical approach. The reality that occurs in the pesantren is revealed along with the history and background of the establishment of the pesantren. The results of this study indicate that the learning system in pesantren can counteract radicalism through several things, including strengthening the capacity of students, reviewing the curriculum, enlightening teachers and employees regarding radicalism, and having a friendly and tolerant environment for students.Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran pesantren di Sumatra Barat dalam menangkal paham radikalisme agama. Dua pesantren yang dijadikan studi kasus adalah Pondok Pesantren Sumatra Thawalib Parabek Banuhampu dan Perguruan Islam Darul Muwahhidin Panyalaian Sumatra Barat. Isu ini penting diungkap karena radikalisme ternyata tidak hanya menyasar orang dewasa namun juga santri pesantren yang sedang berproses dalam mendalami dan memahami ilmu agama. Keberadaan pesantren dalam mendidik santri dan menanamkan nilai-nilai Islam yang ramah menjadi sedikit terganggu dengan adanya isu radikalisme telah menjalar ke pesantren. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan historis, realitas yang terjadi di pesantren diungkap bersamaan dengan histori dan latar belakang berdirinya pesantren. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem pembelajaran di pesantren dapat menangkal radikalisme melalui beberapa hal, di antaranya: penguatan kapasitas santri, peninjauan kurikulum, pencerahan bagi guru dan pegawai terkait radikalisme dan adanya lingkungan yang ramah dan toleran bagi santri.

Abstract

The existence of the masjid tuo in West Sumatera is not only known for its unique style and architecture with traditional and religious ties, but far behind that its institutional function gives rise to a distinctive character for the community. This article discusses how the masjid tuo plays a role in shaping the character of Minang society both structurally and culturally so that it becomes an important record for Minangkabau history (tambo). The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative in order to photograph the phenomena that develop in society related to the role of the masjid tuo so that social setting are known which include the existence of the masjid tuo. The result of this study indicates that the institutional role of masjid tuo in West Sumatera has shaped the character of minang community through the persona and functions that emerge from an imam, khatib, bilal, and labai. The role that is being carried out is an effort to produce syara’ regulation that will be carried out by children and nephews and the surrounding community of the nagari.

Abstract

Sufism is a concept within Islam that aims to lead individuals towards God. The practice of Sufism involves purifying the inner self through righteous deeds. In the journey of Sufism, there are three stages to be traversed: knowledge as the beginning, action as the middle, and God's grace as the culmination. By practicing Sufism, individuals can attain a deeper relationship with God and find inner peace. Through the process of purifying the inner self and engaging in righteous deeds, Sufism helps individuals enhance their spiritual quality and gain a profound understanding of their religion. In the contemporary era, Sufism has experienced development, marked by the emergence of new terms such as Urban Sufism and Perennial Sufism. Urban Sufism refers to the practice of Sufism in urban contexts, where individuals apply Sufi principles in their daily lives amidst the modern and complex urban environment. This demonstrates the adaptation of Sufism to the challenges and needs of the present time. On the other hand, Perennial Sufism refers to an approach that connects the essence of mystical and spiritual teachings from various religions. In Perennial Sufism, the common principles of spirituality and religious experiences are found across different religious traditions, serving as a bridge to understand and achieve unity with God.AbstrakTasawuf sebuah konsep dalam Islam yang memiliki tujuan untuk membawa manusia menuju Tuhan. Praktik tasawuf melibatkan pensucian batin dengan amal shaleh. Dalam perjalanan tasawuf, terdapat tiga tahapan yang harus dilalui, yaitu ilmu sebagai yang awal, amal sebagai yang tengah, dan karunia Allah sebagai yang akhir. Dengan mengamalkan tasawuf, individu dapat mencapai hubungan yang lebih mendalam dengan Tuhan dan memperoleh kedamaian dalam jiwa. Melalui proses pensucian batin dan pelaksanaan amal shaleh, tasawuf membantu manusia untuk meningkatkan kualitas spiritualitasnya dan memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang agama. Perkembangan tasawuf di era kontemporer saat ini, yang ditandai dengan munculnya beberapa istilah baru seperti Tasawuf Urban atau Tasawuf Perkotaan dan Tasawuf Perenial. Tasawuf Urban mengacu pada praktik tasawuf yang dilakukan dalam konteks perkotaan, di mana individu mengaplikasikan prinsip-prinsip tasawuf dalam kehidupan sehari-hari di tengah kehidupan perkotaan yang modern dan kompleks. Hal ini menunjukkan adaptasi tasawuf dengan tantangan dan kebutuhan zaman. Sementara itu, Tasawuf Perenial merujuk pada pendekatan tasawuf yang menghubungkan inti dari ajaran-ajaran mistis dan spiritual dari berbagai agama. Dalam Tasawuf Perenial, kesamaan prinsip-prinsip spiritual dan pengalaman keagamaan ditemukan di seluruh tradisi agama, dan hal ini digunakan sebagai jembatan untuk memahami dan mencapai kesatuan dengan Tuhan

Abstract

Muhammad Abduh was a reformer and thinker who was very influential in the history of Islamic thought. His thoughts have had a significant impact on various stages of people's thinking life including aspects of Al-Qur'an interpretation, education, social, politics, civilization and so on. But the focus of the discussion in this article is about thinking and its contribution to education because education for Abduh is very important in determining the wheel of progress for future generations. Abduh's belief in the power of reason made Muhammad Abduh apply a lot of understanding which said that humans have freedom of thought and action according to the teachings he brought. Abduh reformed various sectors, but his biggest reform was through education. Abduh made education the main way to purify the Islamic world which was polluted by taklid. This education reform by Muhammad Abduh aimed to restore reason to a proper position in the Islamic world, because a reform and purification of education will have a long-lasting impact. and continuously on Muslims.

Abstract

Social Sufism is a practice that places significance not only on the individual, but also on the well-being of society. It is a movement that seeks to influence change in social life, deviating from the scientific traditions of Islamic boarding schools and other Islamic universities. The focus is on finding ways to change Sufism in relation to social life, especially in Indonesia. Today's modern times do not require abstinence from political power, but on the contrary, require integration and participation. Because avoidance of power implies vulnerability and ineffectiveness. Basically, social Sufism is not an exclusive and solitary practice, but rather a practice that is actively involved in the sustainable development of national society, which is the social demand and responsibility of Sufism. This is not a call for uzlah from the masses, but for active and dynamic engagement. On the other hand, Sufism must have a role and be active in life in total, whether in the social, political, economic or other fields. Therefore, the role of the Sufi must be more empirical, pragmatic and functional in addressing and viewing life in a real way.
