Abstract

This study aims to test the integration of self-efficacy into physical training digitally by increasing the physical activity of young women. Social Cognitive Theory (SCT), by integrating self-efficacy in training and rehabilitation programs, has been used to address health problems. With the help of social support, a person's physical activity can be predicted. This study is based on the low physical activity of young women during the COVID-19 pandemic, which can affect the quality of health and social development. This study is an experimental study using a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The instrument used to collect the data is the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) for young and middle-aged adults (15–19) and then processed with independent t test analysis techniques. The results of the average scores of knowledge, attitudes, and levels of physical activity in the control group did not differ markedly before and after the intervention. Whereas in the experimental group, the difference before and after the intervention was significant (t count = 6.9159; t table 1.6848 and 2.022; t count > t table), and the average value of the aforementioned factors increased after the intervention. The results of this study revealed that the use of digital media in physical exercise with the integration of self-efficacy can increase the physical activity of young women, and digital media can be effective in improving health-based behaviors. Sociodemographic variables such as the level of motor skills appear to be significant predictors of self-efficacy for coping with sedentary behavior. Understanding self-efficacy predictors for coping with sedentary behavior can help physical education integrate the emotional dimensions of health into physical education interventions, identify groups based on level, customize messages, and prioritize resources in shaping pro-health behavior.

Abstract

Physical activity is very closely related to movement skills and can be developed through physical education. By integrating self-efficacy into physical education as an intervention, it is hoped that both can be instilled and developed simultaneously. This study aims to examine the effect of self-efficacy in physical education in order to increase physical activity and sports satisfaction for young women. This research is an experimental research using a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The instruments used to collect data were the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) for young and middle-aged adults (15-59) and the Basic Needs Satisfaction in Sport Scale (BNSSS) instrument to measure satisfaction in sports which were then processed using an independent sample t-test compares two sample means to determine whether the group means differ significantly. The results of this study can be concluded that by integrating self-efficacy content in physical education lessons, it is very large in supporting the physical activities of female students and also increasing students’ motivation and creating a better learning environment. In addition, this intervention can increase satisfaction with physical education learning. These results have an indirect impact on students’ satisfaction in sports. Furthermore, it is necessary to conduct research on samples from various regions and samples of elementary school and college students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the reliability of the thesis assessment instrument using Generalizability Theory (G-Theory).  This research is a quantitative study that applies G-Theory. G-Theory is unique and useful in evaluating the sources of actual variance and error in any measurement design. Thus, G-Theory contributes to improving reliability and validity in assessment. In this study, data were collected using a thesis assessment instrument that had been tested on thesis assessments conducted at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Jambi.  G-Theory analysis in this study includes several main points, namely G-Study, Optimization (D-Study), and G-facets analysis. The results of the analysis show that the assessment instrument has a fairly high level of reliability with a G coefficient of 0.78. This indicates that the instrument can be used effectively in the thesis assessment. In addition, based on the results of the analysis carried out, recommendations were obtained to reassess item number two, increase the number of raters to six people to increase the reliability of the instrument to 0.80 to meet the satisfactory category. The resulting recommendations can be used by developers to improve the reliability of instruments in future assessment activities. This research is also expected to be a reference for future researchers in applying G-Theory in analyzing the reliability of measurement instruments.

Abstract

Basic movement proficiency (FMS) is most successfully acquired during the early school years. This happens at the beginning and after 2.5 years of primary school physical education. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of selected exercises on motor development in first year elementary school students in Jambi City, Indonesia. This research is semi-experimental in nature, carried out in the field and using experimental and control groups. The statistical population includes all first-year elementary school students in Jambi city (7523 students). Fifty-six of them were randomly selected (cluster stage) and then randomly divided into two groups: experiment (N=26, mean age=6.9 ± 0.55) and control (N=28, mean age). average = average = 6.9 ± 0.59). ). The experimental group was given training for eight weeks, 2 sessions per week and each session lasted 45 minutes. To measure motor development, the Test of Gross Motor Development edition 2 (TGMD-2) is used. Statistical analysis was performed using independent t-test and paired t-test. The results showed a statistically significant difference between the control and experimental groups regarding movement skills (8.637, P<0.05). In fact, the integration of basic motion exercises in physical education has an impact on their motor development. By integrating basic movement exercises, it can be used as an appropriate plan to improve the development of movement skills in first-year elementary school students.
