Abstract

This study explored the efficiency of SME Cluster. We developed an efficiency model consistingof operational capital, labor cost and raw material cost as the inputs. We proposed sales revenueand assets as the outputs of the model. Furthermore, a survey was conducted by involving 83SMEs in three different clusters. These three different clusters were batik cluster, furniture cluster,and apparel cluster. These clusters had been considered as SMEs with large labor absorption andenormous productivity, particularly in the area of Central Java, Indonesia. Our result shows thatmost SMEs included in those three clusters are not efficient in operating their businesses. Themain problem is related with the cost structure, especially in costly raw materials. In addition, itis suggested to improve the performance of human resource in those SMEs.

Abstract

This study aims to examining the moderating role of religiosity toward causal relationship of altruism on brand attitude in grocery retailing from Muslim customers’ perspective. In this attempt, this study brought the specific context of West Sumatra as known province for religious community. This research adopted a survey approach where 110 questionnaires were obtained from selected grocery shoppers in Padang city, West Sumatra, Indonesia. The measurement of the constructs and their interrelationships were examined based on partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). Key findings of the research had revealed that religiosity didn't has the moderation effect, notwithstanding it still exert a significant influence over favorable brand attitude. As for altruism found to has significant impact on the generation of positive brand attitude. Based on the theory, egoism has always been the attentions of studies in understanding consumer's motivation in the research of consumer behavior. This study has added sufficient evidence on the area whether other human quality, namely altruism has significances toward consumer's overarching evaluation on a brand. Particularly in regard to consumers who possess a credence on Islamic teachings, referred to as Muslim.

Abstract

Pondok Pesantren Mahad Arrahman telah memanfaatkan energi terbarukan berupa sel surya untuk mengurangi pemakaian energi listrik, dan juga berfungsi sebagai energi cadangan ketika terjadinya pemadaman listrik. Namun, kendala lain muncul pada pemanfaatan energi sel surya ini, yaitu daya yang terpasang masih tidak mampu mencukupi kebutuhan pondok pesantren akan listrik. Penurunan performa ketika proses charging di siang hari yang terasa lebih lambat, dibandingkan waktu menjelang siang. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah ketika temperatur meningkat terjadi penurunan performa sel surya. Untuk itu diperlukan tambahan energi listrik berupa panel surya beserta instalasinya dengan teknologi berpendingin air. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini meliputi perancangan alat teknologi sel surya berpendingin air yang diharapkan dapat membantu mengatasi permasalahan di Pondok Pesantren Mahad Arrahman. Luaran kegiatan ini adalah berupa pemahaman dan transfer keterampilan teknologi sel surya berpendingin air dan Alat yang terdiri dari Sel Surya, Pompa air DC, Pipa Instalasi jalur air, Saklar, Kontroler, Inventer, dan Baterai. Manfaat dari kegiatan ini adalah terjadinya penambahan daya listrik menggunakan energy tenaga surya dan diharapkan terjadinya penurunan temperature setelah dipasang teknologi pendingin air sehingga terjadi peningkatan performa sel surya.
