<![CDATA[Think Pair Share (TPS) as one of cooperative learning has been reported to be potentially used in the empowerment of students’ metacognitive skills. But the report has not been linked to gender differences. The purpose of this study was to analyze the potential use of TPS in the empowerment of metacognitive skills of male and female students. This study was conducted in the first semester of 2015/2016 academic year. The research subjects were the students of class X of State Senior High School 6 Malang. The instruments used were an essay test and a rubric of metacognitive skills. The data obtained were then tested for the normality and homogeneity of the data, and further analyzed using Ancova test. The analysis showed a significance value of p = 0.785 or > 0.05 which means the TPS learning has equal potential in empowering metacognitive skills of male and female students. The implementation of TPS learning can provide equal opportunities for male and female students to be involved in learning and provide the same demands to explore learning material.]]>

<![CDATA[One of the software for compiling a bibliography automatically can take advantage of the facilities of the Mendeley Desktop application. Mendeley Desktop is a reference management software that helps organize scientific articles, namely in creating citations and bibliography. With this software, writers can manage reading sources that are used as references in compiling their writings. The use of Mendeley Desktop can also be integrated with Microsoft Word, so it can be more easily for writers for each scientific paper. The purpose of holding this training activity is to help the teachers of SMP Swasta Gita Surya Eban in order to utilize of the facilities provided by the software and the citations and references on the Mendeley Desktop so that scientific writing can be done more easily, quickly, and efficiently. From the training results, it was found that the training carried out could add knowledge and solutions to the use of Mendeley Desktop with the evaluation results increase significantly. The writers hope that by holding this training, teachers at SMP Swasta Gita Surya Eban can apply the citation / reference software from Mendeley Desktop in writing scientific papers.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this community service activity is to provide an introduction to training in making scientific papers for teachers of Gita Surya Eban Junior High School. Furthermore, the background for the implementation of this socialization is to provide information about how to make educational and non-educational scientific papers, as well as provide information to teachers on the importance of making scientific papers as a prerequisite for promotion and class. This service activity has been carried out since November 2020 with 18 participants. This activity is carried out by introducing the types of research that are experimental in the laboratory.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstrak: Kegiatan sosialisasi ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan dan meningkatkan pemahaman guru Sekolah Menengah Pertama tentang penelitian bidang pendidikan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SMPS Gita Surya Eban yang berada di Desa Eban, Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur. Yang menjadi peserta dalam kegiatan ini adalah 14 orang guru. Pelaksanaan sosialisasi ini dibagi menjadi tahap pra kegiatan dan kegiatan. Tahap pra kegiatan dilakukan melalui pelaksanaan survey awal untuk mengetahui gambaran pelaksanaan penelitian guru serta kendala yang dialami. Selanjutnya tahap kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui sosialisasi dan evaluasi. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan angket tanggapan peserta. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi diperoleh informasi bahwa kegiatan sosialisasi ini mendapatkan tanggapan yang positif dari peserta. Peserta berharap dapat dilakukan kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan lanjutan sehingga peserta dapat menghasilkan proposal penelitian dan karya tulis ilmiah. Abstract: This socialization activity aims to introduce and increase Junior High School teachers’ understanding of about educational research. This activity was carried out at the Gita Surya Eban SMPS in Eban village, North Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. The participants in this activity were 14 teachers. The implementation of this socialization is divided into pre-activity and activity stages. The pre-activity stage was carried out through the implementation of an initial survey to find out an overview of the implementation of teacher research and the obstacles experienced. Furthermore, the activity stage is carried out through socialization and evaluation. The evaluation was carried out using a questionnaire for the responses of the participants. Based on the results of the evaluation, information was obtained that this socialization activity received positive responses from the participants. Participants hope that further training and mentoring activities can be carried out so that participants can produce research proposals and scientific papers.]]>

<![CDATA[Gender equality is one of the important topics that need attention in learning. This study aims at finding out the cognitive learning outcomes of the equality of male and female students in Children Learning in Science (CLIS) that was combined with a Brain Gym. This study is a a comparative research. The population of this study were the students of grade XI MIA SMA Negeri 7 Kupang in the academic year of 2018/2019 and the sample of this study were the students of grade XI MIA 1. The instrument used was a test of cognitive learning outcomes. The data obtained were analyzed using Anakova. The results showed that by combining CLIS and Brain Gym technique, the equality of cognitive learning outcomes for male and female students can occur. Providing the same opportunities, the same tasks, and the same responsibilities during CLIS combined with a Brain Gym learning, can minimize the differences in characteristics between genders so that the learning outcomes obtained are equivalent.]]>

<![CDATA[This research was conducted with the aim of revealing the level of knowledge related to COVID-19 among state university students, in the NKRI-RDTL border area. This study includes a qualitative descriptive study involving the population, namely all active students of state universities, Timor University, which are located in the border area of the Republic of Indonesia-RDTL. By using a simple random sampling technique, obtained 1181 students as respondents. The research instrument in the form of a knowledge questionnaire related to covid was distributed to respondents offline and also online using the google form. The results showed that 17.7% of respondents had knowledge at a low level, 62.66% of respondents had knowledge at a moderate level, while 19.64% of respondents had knowledge at a high level. Among the 4 aspects of knowledge, knowledge on the etiology and symptom aspects, as well as aspects of preventing the spread of covid-19, are at a high level with an average value of each aspect, namely 85.61 and 83.09. Meanwhile, knowledge on aspects of risk groups and aspects of the spread of COVID-19 is at a low level with an average value of 51.54 and 54.19. This needs attention because the quality of knowledge basically has a relationship with attitudes and behavior related to COVID-19]]>

<![CDATA[Learning innovation is an effort to improve the quality of learning. One form of innovation is the integration of brain gym learning techniques and various learning models, including the Children Learning in Science (CLIS) model. However, so far, there has never been a study of learning innovations through the integration of brain gym techniques with the CLIS model. This study aims at finding out the optimizing of the Children Learning in Science (CLIS) models with brain gym to empower students' human circulatory conception. This study is quasi-experimental research of pretest-posttest Nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study was the students of class XI MIA SMA Negeri 7 Kupang, which consisted of 173 students. The sample of this study were students of class XI MIA1 and XI MIA 2, which consisted of 61 students. The instrument used was a test of human circulatory conception developed by Andriani (2017). The results showed that the increase in students' human circulatory conception in CLIS learning combined with a gym is 40.61% higher than the increase in students' human circulatory conception in CLIS learning. It can be concluded that the application of brain gym can optimize Children Learning In Science (CLIS) potential in empowering students' human circulatory conception.]]>

<![CDATA[This community service activity aims to train skills and improve bibliography writing skills using the Mendeley Desktop in writing scientific papers for Wini State Junior High School teachers. Community service activity was carried out at Wini State Junior High School, North Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The training method is carried out in the following stages: lectures, demonstrations, discussions/questions and answers. The training activities were carried out face-to-face with the training participants as many as 13 Wini State Junior High School teachers. Based on the results of the training activities, it was found that the training of using Mendeley Desktop has a positive impact toward development of teachers' abilities in writing scientific papers. The results of training activities related to the understanding of teachers in the technical use of Mendeley Desktop, a significant increase was obtained. Prior to the training, 8% of the training participants had a good understanding, 15% had sufficient understanding, and 77% had a poor understanding of using Mendeley Desktop in writing scientific papers. After the training, 62% of the participants had a very good understanding. 23% of participants have good understanding, the other 15% of participants have sufficient understanding. Thus, it can be concluded that the Mendeley Desktop application training was successful in carrying out knowledge transfer to the trainees.]]>

<![CDATA[Publikasi ilmiah merupakan salah satu bagian penting bagi guru-guru dalam meningkatkan profesionalitasnya. Selain itu publikasi ilmiah juga menjadi alternatif sarana bagi guru dan mengumpulkan angka kredit. Tujuan dilakukannya pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu agar menambah wawasan dan pengetahuan bagi guru-guru terkait publikasi ilmiah di jurnal nasional. Metode pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan cara memberikan sosialisai kepada peserta pengabdian dalam hal ini adalah guru-guru di SMP Swasta Gita Surya Eban. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan 4 tahapan yaitu 1) tahap koordinasi dengan mitra; 2) tahap persiapan; 3) tahap pelaksanaan; dan 4) tahap evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah guru-guru di SMP Swasta Gita Surya Eban sudah paham dengan materi yang dipaparkan oleh tim pengabdi yaitu mengenai pentingnya publikasi karya tulis ilmiah pada jurnal nasional.
