Abstract

Pengelasan merupakan salah satu unsur penting dalam dunia konstruksi modern yang berkaitan denganpenyambungan dua part logam atau lebih, sehingga satu dan mempunyai kekuatan setara logam induknya. Dandengan metode-metode yang dilakukan, perlakuan pada logam tersebut memberikan dampak pada kekuatan.Kekuatan inilah yang menjadi tujuan utama setiap pengguna ataupun konsumen, agar konstruksi yang merekabangun bisa bertahan lama dari pengaruh fenomena alam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruhperlakuan fisis logam, yakni heattreatment pada proses pengelasan logam terhadap kekerasan yang terbentuk.Dan untuk mencapai target penelitian maka dilakukan eksperimen pada material dengan metode pengelasanSMAW dan heattreatment pasca pengelasan. Hasil penelitian ini di validasi dengan dukungan metode ujimaterial hardness test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan kekerasan raw material uji sebesar 51.4 HRB,heattreatment logam las pada temperatur 900˚C memiliki nilai kekerasan 54.3 HRB dan HAZ 52.7 HRB,pada temperatur heattreatment 800˚C kekerasan logam las 52.6 HRB dan HAZ 52 HRB, sedangkan padaheattreatment 700˚C kekerasan logam las 48.2 HRB dan HAZ 51.4 HRB. Dengan demikian, hasil inimenunjukan bahwa peningkatan temperatur heattreatment menyebabkan perbedaan temperatur pada prosespendinginan semakin besar sehingga yang terjadi adalah kecenderungan pendinginan cepat; pendinginan cepattersebut menyebabkan kekerasan material semakin meningkat.

Abstract

Low carbon steel has a wide use in the construction sector and is classified into steel that can be processed by machinery (machinery steel). The salient disadvantage of this material is the type of failure in the form of chipping, and breaking. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the addition of belian and acacia wood charcoal on low carbon steel. This solid carburizing process uses a mixture of belian wood charcoal with calcium carbonate and acacia wood charcoal with calcium carbonate, and heattreatment at a temperature of 900oC, holding time of 30 minutes followed by quenching, with the Rockwell hardness test method. The test results show that the hardness of carbon steel that undergoes treatment is higher when compared to raw material of low carbon steel = 50.34HRB, where carburizing with acacia wood charcoal = 50.5HRB with a lower value when compared to belian wood charcoal = 50.94HRB. Judging from these results, the solid carburizing process with different types of charcoal will increase the hardness of low carbon steels.

Abstract

This research modifies the bottle jack to remove the electric motor bearing of a water pump with a jackcapacity of 2 tons. Bottle jacks are generally used to lift vehicles such as cars. The bottle jack can be modified sothat it can be used as a bearing removal device. In general, the way to remove the bearing is still manual, namelyby hitting it. The purpose of making this tool is to make it easier to remove the water pump electric motor bearing.The working principle of this removal tool is to use hydraulic power as the driving force. Pushers from the bottomup on the water pump dynamo shaft and a tracker as a means of holding the bearing. The bearing holder is neededso that the bearing can be separated from the water pump dynamo shaft. The specifications of the tool are that ithas a height of 16 - 27 cm. The width of the tool is 6 cm and the maximum pressure capacity of the bottle jack is2 tons. The trial results of the bottle jack modification tool to remove the water pump electric motor bearingsobtained an average time of 45 seconds.

Abstract

Sand is an important material in building construction for residential houses, places of worship, offices, educational facilities, and other buildings. Sand generally consists of sand mixed with gravel and stone. An automatic sand sieving machine makes separating rock gravel from sand easier. Making an automatic sand sieving machine aims to get better quality and cleaner sand screening results. This sand sifter machine is made to prevent the entry of gravel in the sieving process. In addition, the sand sieving process can be more efficient and effective. The automatic sand sieving machine has dimensions of 100 cm long, 70 cm wide, and 80 cm high. The test results of the sand sieving machine can sift sand with a capacity of 5 kg in 15 seconds and a sand capacity of 10 kg in 32 seconds.

Abstract

Hardenability is the ability of a material to harden to a certain depth utilizing heat treatment to form martensite upon cooling to achieve a certain hardness. The hardness of a metal, especially steel, can be modified without adding alloying elements and is done by heat treatment. Steel's hardenability value is strongly influenced by the carbon content (carburizing) in the steel structure. Increasing the hardness of a material can be done by adding carbon to the object's surface during heat treatment. The Rockwell Hardness Test method measures the surface of the hardness. The test results on the specimens showed that the carburizing process of each specimen increased the hardness of the surface of the specimen. The distribution of hardenability values ​​is close to a linear line, namely the heat treatment temperature 900oC.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of temperature on the solid carburizing on increasing the hardness value of ST37 steel. This solid carburizing uses temperature variations of 9000C, 10000C and 11000C, with a holding time of 30 minutes. The material used is a mixture of CaCO3 and coconut shell charcoal with mineral water as a cooling medium. The test carried out was the Rockwell hardness test which was carried out in the Mechanical Engineering Materials Testing Lab of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang. From the test results for ST37 steel, the average hardness obtained in the raw material = 48.3 HRB, then in each carbonation treatment at a temperature of 9000C = 48.6 HRB, a temperature of 10000C = 48.9 HRB, a temperature of 11000C = 49.1 HRB. Carburized steel plates with a temperature of 9000C, 10000C and 11000C the test results are harder than the raw material.

Abstract

This research will provide testing of low carbon steel, namely ST-37 Steel, through a welding process using cooling media with variations in water on the hardness of the steel resulting from welding. The important point in this research is to be able to determine the effect of the cooling medium on the hardness of the welded steel in order to obtain maximum hardness and obtain good weld hardness. Welding is carried out using the shielded metal ac welding (SMAW) welding method, so testing is required on test objects resulting from shielded metal ac welding (SMAW). The research method that the researcher took was an experimental research method, namely research to determine the consequences of the treatment given to the thing being researched by carrying out Rockwell Hardness (HR) testing. From the tests, differences were found in each specimen using 4 different water samples. The 4 water samples used were sea water, salt water, water with a pH of 6.1, and water with a pH of 7.4. Variations in cooling media influence the test results, namely at 10 specimen points tested from 4 cooling media samples, it was found that the specimen with the highest level of hardness was the specimen using a water sample with a pH of 6.1, namely with an average value of 49.3 (HR), and the specimen with the lowest level of hardness was the specimen with the salt water sample, with an average value of 46.95 (HR).

Abstract

Local farmers in Sungai Awan Kanan Village are one of the supporting sources of food for consumers around Ketapang Regency, West Kalimantan. With traditional skills they are able to produce agricultural products that can compete with modern agriculture. They always produce fresh vegetables every day for family and community needs. Behind it all, there are several weaknesses that they currently feel, including; cheap prices at the collector level (prices become a game for certain parties), fresh vegetables cannot last long due to limited supporting facilities. Meanwhile, on the other hand, there are opportunities that actually open the chain of their problems, such as; the emergence of supermarkets and modern markets that require supplies. The aim of implementing this community service is to encourage the strength of local communities in developing agricultural products, especially vegetables, through packaging methods. The community is facilitated by providing modern packaging for the agricultural products they get. With this community service program in the form of training regarding the development of agricultural products through packaging, it is hoped that it can increase public knowledge about how to increase income through packaging methods applied to agricultural products. After the training, almost all training participants realized that the packaging methods applied to agricultural products could have a good effect on the sales of their agricultural products.
