Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kualitas dan korelasi antara sejumlah parameter kualitas perairan di kolong pascatambang timah dengan umur berbeda untuk pengembangan akuakultur. Pengukuran kualitas air dilakukan pada kolong berumur < 1 tahun, umur 20-25 tahun, dan umur > 50 tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kolong berumur < 1 tahun bersifat asam (pH 3,71) dengan Eh 0.16 V, DO 5.20 ppm, COD 10.173 ppm, TSS 3.667 ppm, konduktivitas143.75 Us.cm-1, total nitrogen 0.069 ppm, dan total fosfat 0.019 ppm. Karaktersitik perairan kolong berumur > 20 tahun mengalami perbaikan kualitas, khususnya pH dan DO. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan pH 6.98-7.09, DO 7.07-7.20 ppm, COD 13.900-15.400 ppm, TDS 38.93-81.63 ppm, TSS 6.00 ppm, Eh 0.01-0.02 V, konduktivitas 58.40-122.45 Us.cm-1, total nitrogen 0.021-0.041 ppm, dan total fosfat 0.013-0.021 ppm. Kualitas perairan di kolong pascatambang timah, khususnya di kolong berumur < 1 tahun cenderung berkualitas rendah, meskipun demikian sejumlah ikan ditemukan mampu hidup di kolong tersebut seperti ikan gabus (Channa sp.), sepat rawa (‎Trichogaster sp.), kemuring (Puntius sp.), nila (Oreochromis sp.), tempala (Betta sp.), merak atau cere (Gambusia sp.), seluang (Rasbora sp.), betok (Anabas sp.), selinca (Belontia sp.), berenet atau eyespot rasbora (Brevibora sp.), mata tiga (ikan padi atau javanese ricefish) (Oryzias sp.), dan kepala timah (Aplocheilus sp.). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa beberapa spesies ikan memiliki kemampuan bertahan hidup dan adaptasi yang baik di lingkungan berkualitas rendah. Sementara itu, ikan-ikan tersebut juga ditemukan di sejumlah kolong yang berumur > 20 tahun. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa spesies-spesies tersebut memiliki rentang kualitas perairan yang luas untuk kehidupannya serta berpotensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai komoditas akuakultur ataupun organisme suksesor di perairan kolong pascatambang timah.

Abstract

Kelompok Pembudidaya Ikan (pokdakan) di Kelurahan Air Jukung, Kecamatan Belinyu, Kabupaten Bangka merupakan Kelompok pembudidaya ikan yang bergerak pada kegiatan budidaya air payau khususnya kepiting bakau (Scylla serrata). Namun keberlanjutan kegiatan budidaya yang dilakukan masih terkandala oleh banyak hal salahsatunya adalah kurangnya efisiensi dalam pemanfaatan potensi sumberdaya yang dimiliki. Tambak yang dimiliki oleh para pembudidaya ikan masing belum terkelola dengan optimal. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan aplikasi IPTEKS untuk mengefisiensikan potensi sumberdaya yang dimiliki oleh para pembudidaya ikan dengan teknologi pemeliharaan sistem polikultur antara kepiting bakau dengan ikan bandeng (Chanos chanos). Target khusus dari kegiatan ini adalah Kapasitas produksi budidaya milik pokdakan semakin meningkat dan efisien dengan tearalikasinya teknologi polikultur. Metode kegiatan ini yaitu metode survey lapangan dengan menyisipkan teknologi polikultur dalam melakukan kegiatan budidaya. Hasil dari kegiatan ini yaitu tambak budidaya milik para pembudidaya ikan semakin optimal dan efesien dengan diversifikasi komoditi selain kepiting bakau yaitu ikan bandeng.  Kepiting bakau mampu tumbuh dan hidup dengan optimal serta mencapai ukuran panen. Selain itu ikan bandeng yang dipelihara mampu hidup dan tumbuh dengan optimal dengan pertumbuhan yang sesuai dengan diharapkan.

Abstract

The challenges faced by the world of education such as universities are not only producing graduates who have good intellectuality, mentality, and morality, but also high productivity and independence. Aquaponics-based aquaculture activities are one of the models that can be developed as a pilot project in the development of productivity and independence of the academic community. This community service activity aimed to present a model in the Program Hilirisasi Produktif (PHP) that can be implemented within the University of Bangka Belitung in particular and the academic community at large. This activity was carried out through an analysis of strength, weaknesses, opportunity, and threat, the stages of preparation of facilities and infrastructure for the application of aquaponics-based aquaculture techniques, the stages of program implementation, and the stages of results evaluation. The activities that have been carried out within a period of three months have produced juvenile of catfish, tilapia fish, broodstock of tilapia, and kangkung vegetables (Ipomea reptans Poir). The sustainability of this activity is very important to make aquaponics-based aquaculture become an effort to produce an independent community in the food sector.

Abstract

Shipworm is specialized as wood borer bivalve.They has a pair of shell which reduce to a small but highly efficient cutting organ at the extreme anterior end by which they bore the woods up to 19 mm a day. Shipworm derives some nutrition from the wood that they swallow with enzymatic mechanizm and bacterial simbionts. They store their products of digestion in the form of glycogen and fat. Mangrove is their natural habitat, and they also play an important ecological role in the reduction of mangrove woods. Syaputra (2003) has reported that shipworm which lives in Mangrove ecosystem near Tanjung Batu Village is from genus Bactronophorus. It is based on Allan (1962) who said that shipworm with stilt-like pallets, short siphons and the shell with 1.85 cm of length, and total length of pallet reaches 5 cm is Bactronophorus. As the other fisheries coomodities (crabs, shrimps, etc), shipworm could be an alternative source of health food by providing the essential fatty acids. Until now, we still have to catch the shipworm from nature, so that, the yields would be depend on the carrying capacity, catch per unit area, and catch season. For the future, it is important for the stakeholders altogether assuring that our mangrove ecosystem still provides nursery and feeding ground function especially for the shipworm.

Abstract

The aims of this research were to inventorize fish species and their spatial distribution in river of UBB and to domesticate local fish of Bangka Island that have high economic value, especially those that live around the campus of Bangka Belitung University. This research have done on July to September 2019. Test material used in this study were fish and water from river in the campus of Bangka Belitung University. The research methods were survey methods and descriptive (sampling) methods. Data in this research were the form of fish and water quality. Data of fish included of length, body weight and sex with the size of sample fish separated by the length : seed fish (10-20 mm), juvenile fish (21-40 mm) and adult fish (41-50 mm). Data of water quality taken by observate the parameters, included of temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO), pH, turbidity, brightness, hardness, current speed, and water deep. Data of fish samples were analyzed by simple linear regression analysis method, while data of water quality parameter were analyzed descriptively

Abstract

The rationale for using medicinal plants or herbs makes their use seen as playing an important role in the prevention and treatment system at the present time. Utilization of medicinal plants in combination is considered more effective and has a higher antibacterial activity compared to a single extract. One of the herbal medicine products from the combination of kencur medicinal plants (Kaempferia galanga) and thatch (Imperata cylindrica) under the name Meddia Meddwa its antibacterial activity has been assessed. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness and antibacterial activity in vitro, and the best concentration from the combination of kencur and kalang in Jamu Meddia Meddwa against Gram positive bacteria ( S. aureus) and Gram negative (A. hydrophila). This study also analyzed the content of active compounds or phytochemicals contained in the combination of kencur and thatch in Meddia Meddwa Medicines. The research method used is a laboratory experimental method. This study uses a single complete randomized design (CRD) with a tukey test. The results showed that the combination of kencur and kalang in Meddia Meddwa herbal medicine had antibacterial activity in vitro. Inhibitory zone diameters for all extract concentrations tested on A. hydrophila and S. aureus significantly different results were obtained (P ≤ 0.05). Gram-positive bacteria (A. hydrophila) effectively inhibits bacterial growth compared to Gram negative bacteria (S. aureus). The content of active compounds contained in the combination of kencur and thatch in simplicia Meddia Meddwa is alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids and phenol hydroquinone. The best concentration of simplicia kencur and thatch in Meddia Meddwa herbal medicine in inhibiting bacterial growth A. hydrophila and S. aureus is 6 ppt.

Abstract

Squid (Loligo sp) is one of the most essential fishery commodities and ranks third after fish and shrimp in commercial fisheries. The freshness of the squid is a very important factor and is closely related to its economic value. One of the actors in the marine commodity storage business at Rebo Beach, Bangka Regency uses Cucumbers to maintain the quality of Squid. Until now there has been no scientific research that proves that Cucumber can be used as a preservative for Squid. For this reason, it is necessary to research to examine the effect of using cucumber at different concentrations and soaking times on the organoleptic assessment of squid quality. This research was conducted in February 2020. The handling process for the Squid was carried out at the Squid shelter in Baturusa, Merawang District, Bangka Regency. In contrast, the organoleptic tests were carried out at the Aquaculture Laboratory of the University of Bangka Belitung. The research was conducted by experimental method. The research variables were differences in the concentration of grated Cucumber and differences in the length of soaking Squid. This study used RAL (Completely Randomized Design) Factorial pattern with 2 factors and 3 replications. Treatment factor by giving grated Cucumber and control or using ice cubes at different times and doses. The soaking times in this study were 24 hours and 48 hours with grated cucumber measurements of 50, 100, and 150 grams per 5 liters of water. Data analysis in this study used the Kruskarwalis test. Squid treated with grated cucumber had the same brightness level as ice cubes after 24 hours of soaking. Giving grated Cucumber does not affect the taste and texture of Squid to the level of people's preferences. Giving grated Cucumber as much as 150 g with 24 hours of soaking time can be accepted by consumers and can compete with Squid which is given ice cube treatment.

Abstract

Fish farming activities carried out by fish farmers often face problems that cause production activities to be not optimal. In fact, increasing production capacity is very important to increase profits. Problems that often arise are basically common. However, due to a lack of mastery of technology and production management, these problems become a major obstacle to optimizing business activities. Fish farmers in Tua Tunu Village, Pangkalpinang City are fish farmers engaged in freshwater fish farming activities, especially catfish (Pangasius pangasius). So far, fish farming activities carried out by fish farmers have faced problems caused by two main factors, namely poor water quality in aquaculture ponds due to waste from feed and fish feces and lack of diversification of fish farming commodities. The purpose of this activity is to provide science and technology applications in the form of technology to minimize aquaculture waste and aquaculture technology systems so that the production capacity of fish farmers increases. This activity was carried out in fish farming ponds owned by fish farmers in Tua Tunu Village, Pangkalpinang City.The specific target is to increase the production capacity of fish farming with the application of technology in all fish farming ponds for fish farmers in Tua Tunu. The method used is a survey method by conducting fish farming activities by inserting technology applications in the form of organic waste trap technology and polyculture system technology. The results obtained show that the production capacity of the pond and the harvest of the fish farmers are more optimal. The results of the activity show that the fish farmer partners can harvest more types of fish and more profits. The water quality in the fish farming media is better. The good water quality from the application of this technology can be seen physically from the color of the water with a lower level of turbidity by suspended solids from feed compared to ponds that do not use this technology.

Abstract

Pakan ikan merupakan permasalahan utama dalam kegiatan usaha bisnis budidaya ikan. Hal ini dikarenakan kebutuhan biaya untuk pembelian pakan ikan menghabiskan 60 – 70% biaya operasional produksi. Kondisi ini berdampak pada menurunnya pendapatan (income) bagi para pembudidaya ikan. Pembudidaya Ikan di Desa Tua Tunu, Kota Pangkalpinang merupakan pembudidaya ikan yang bergerak dalam kegiatan budidaya ikan air tawar. Selama ini kegiatan budidaya ikan yang dilakukan oleh para pembudidaya terkendala oleh besarnya biaya pakan yang dikeluarkan. Bangka Belitung memiliki potensi perairan laut yang menghasilkan ikan-ikan rucah dalam jumlah yang berlimpah. Ikan rucah harganya murah dan bisa digunakan sebagai bahan baku dalam pembuatan pakan ikan. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan aplikasi IPTEKS berupa pemanfaatan bahan baku lokal berupa ikan rucah untuk dijadikan bahan baku bagi pembuatan pakan ikan dengan menggunakan teknologi sederhana yang aplikatif. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di kolam budidaya ikan yang dimiliki oleh para pembudidaya ikan di Desa Tua Tunu, Kota Pangkalpinang. Hasil dari kegiatan ini yaitu Aplikasi dan desain teknologimampu membantu pembudidaya ikan dalam membuat pakan mandiri. Teknologi yang diterapkan berjalan dengan baik dan membantu mitra pembudidaya ikan dalam mendapatkan keuntungan yang optimal. Biaya produksi untuk pembelian pakan ikan berkurang. Bila dibandingkan dengan pakan pabrik (pakan komersil) terdapat perbedaan yang menunjukan pakan mandiri lebih menguntungkan.

Abstract

Perairan payau banyak dimanfaatkan oleh para pembudidaya ikan sebagai media pemeliharan bagi komoditi air payau seperti kepiting bakau. Namun kegiatan budidayayang dilakukan seringkali menghadapi permasalahan yang menyebabkan hasil produksi menjadi tidak optimal. Pembudidaya ikan di Kelurahan Air Jukung, Kecamatan Belinyu, Kabupaten Bangka merupakan pembudidaya ikan yang bergerak pada kegiatan budidaya air payau khususnya kepiting bakau (Scylla serrata). Budidaya yang dilakukan selama ini tidak berjalan dengan baik dikarenakan keterbatasan dana, kurangnya teknologi dan pendampingan untuk kegiatan produksinya sangat kurang. Oleh karena itu pendampingan dan teknologi dalam teknis kegiatan budidaya harus ditingkatkan agar didapatkan keuntungan yang optimal. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan aplikasi IPTEKS berupa sistem dan teknologi untuk menghasilkan kepiting bakau yang memiliki harga jual tinggi dan sesuai dengan keinginan pasar ekspor. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di kolam budidaya kepiting bakau yang dimiliki oleh para pembudidaya di Kelurahan Air Jukung, Kecamatan Belinyu, Kabupaten Bangka. Target khusus dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya kapasitas produksi budidaya dengan teraplikasinya sistem dan teknologipada semua petak tambak budidaya bagi bagi para pembudidaya. Metode kegiatan ini yaitu melakukan kegiatan budidaya dengan menyisipkan aplikasi teknologi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini yaitu kepiting bakau yang dipelihara tumbuh optimal pada tambak budidaya. Jumlah kepiting bakau memenuhi kapasitas produksi.
