Abstract

This paper tries to describe the role of Risalah Nur movement and its relationship with the tariqa movement in Turkey, especially after the collapse of the Ottoman Caliphate and the early modern state of Turkey. The methodological study of this paper will refer to literature perspective, specifically historical analysis of the life of Said Nursi and his work Risalah Nur through the Nursi’s books and the other related literatures. My study is assuming that Risalah Nur plays an important role when the tariqa, mysticism/tasawuf teachings banned by the Turkish government since 1925. For some Muslim scholars the Risalah Nur written in Arabic and Turkish is considered as the treasures of Islamic knowledge in Turkey. In fact, the Risalah Nur is supposed to be a role model of the Islamic teachings in Muslim world in which the manuscript represents the essential contents of the Quran. The Risalah Nur is strongly referred to Sufism, which deals with the universal value of peace and love that must be relevant for Muslims and all human beings from time to time.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dosis pupuk phonska yang tepat untuk pertumbuhan dan hasil  padi varietas Ciherang di lahan tadah hujan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Teluk Kapuas, Kecamatan Sungai Raya, Kabupaten Kubu Raya . Penelitian ini berlangsung selama ± 4 bulan (16 minggu) dimulai dari tanggal 6 Juni 2014 sampai dengan tanggal 18 september 2014. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen lapang dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri dari 5 taraf perlakuan, yaitu sebagai berikut : P1 (dosis 600 g phonska), P2 (dosis 660 g phonska), P3 (dosis 720 g phonska), P4 ( dosis 780 g phonska), dan P5 (dosis 840 g phonska) dengan 4 ulangan. Variabel yang diamati pada penelitian adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan maksimum, jumlah anakan produktif, persentase gabah isi per malai, berat 1000 biji gabah dan hasil gabah kering per petak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian berbagai kombinasi pupuk phonska memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap variabel  jumlah anakan produktif, persentase gabah isi permalai, berat 1000 biji gabah serta hasil gabah kering per petak. Dari variabel jumlah anakan produktif, persentase gabah isi permalai, berat 1000 biji gabah serta hasil gabah kering per petak rerata tertinggi diperoleh dari perlakuan dengan dosis 840 g phonska. Kata  kunci:Phonska, Varietas Ciherang, Lahan Tadah Hujan

Abstract

Bediuzzaman Said Nursi (1877-1960) was an Islamic revivalist who lived in the last period of the Ottoman caliphate in Turkey. He emerged with his book "Risale-i Nur" trying to save the faith of Muslims by revealing the miracle of Qur'an. The primarly purpose of the Risale-i Nur is the revitalization of the faith of the ordinary believers, along with moral renewal. The methodology employed in this paper is qualitative. The main corpus used is Nursi?s book of Risale-i Nur. The findings of this article reveal that the concept of education according to Said Nursi?s view is an integration of three main elements which combine religious sciences (alulum al-diniyyah) with modern cosmic science (al-ulum al-kauniyyah alhaditsah) and the values of sufism doctrine. Nursi stated that religious knowledge was the light for heart while modern science was the light of the mind. The combination of both will guide to the truth and minimize bigotry. The main curriculum of learning should study the main topics contained in the Risale-i Nur. This concept combines three holistic aspects: spirituality which come from religious schools (medrese), intelectuality which come from the scientific schools (mekteb) and morality that come from the sufistic schools (tekke).

Abstract

Abstract: This study explains about Shaykh Ahmad Khatib al-Minakabawi and his response to the problems that occurred in the archipelago in the 19th-20th centuries AD. This study aims to analyze the teaching of Shaykh Ahmad Khatib to reformers in the archipelago who had studied with him in Mecca as well as scientific works that were a response to problems in the archipelago in the 19-20 century AD. The research method used studies literature, namely a qualitative descriptive study with historical analysis to examine data on the contribution of Shaykh Ahmad Khatib. The results of this study explain that Shaykh Ahmad Khatib is a professor of the Nusantara ulema in Mecca who has succeeded in guiding them to become reformers in the archipelago and has great attention to the problems that occur in the archipelago which he responds with scientific works to explain and straighten these problems.

Abstract

Abstract This article discusses the roles and challenges of Indonesian youth in front of political currents and global dynamics. Youth as an important asset of the nation in its future sustainability, including for Indonesia which has a dominant youth population, is an important capital for nation building. The world of mass media (printed and online) which is developing massively, is free to be filled by any group (party) whether with positive interests or even those with bad intentions. Therefore, the role of youth becomes central in rejecting negative media propaganda and within the framework of spreading the values ​​of moderation. The existence of youth can be present by coloring the media and filling it with various positive agendas. This article concludes that Indonesian youth in the process of building and advancing the nation are valuable assets that must be empowered as part of a solution that puts forward the values ​​of national moderation and other values ​​of the Indonesian nation has. Key Words: Youth, Media, Nation and Moderation.

Abstract

Secularism is a product of Western thought that negates the role of religion in state institutions. In Turkey, this thought was carried out at the Tanzimat era of the Ottoman Turkish dynasty which aimed to make the Ottoman Turks more advanced and modern by adopting western values. The main proponent of this movement is The Young Turks which is a revolutionary movement that wants to replace the laws and regulations of the Ottoman Turks with laws that applied in the West. This movement has the support of extremist Jews (Zionism), Western media, and the Freemasonry movement. It was through their secularization agenda that the Ottoman dynasty gradually weakened and collapsed and was replaced by the secular republic of Turkish. This research using qualitative methods base on descriptions, the result obtained from the research are to know early the concept and application of secularism in Khilafah Turkish Ottoman. As well as being a lesson for Muslims and its impact on the sustainability of Islam itself. The contribution of this research can enrich scientific knowledge in the historical field, especially regarding the political and social aspects of Islam in the Uthmani Khilafah.

Abstract

Sufism as one of the three essential elements of knowledge in Islam, in addition to tawhid (aqi>dah) and jurisprudence (syari>’a), is a treasure of Islamic civilization playing an important role in spreading the values ​​of Islam throughout the world. Through sufism doctrine, Islam able to enter and thrive in the Nusantara. Nonetheless, scornful views towards sufism could not be avoided, specifically about the practice of tariqa (sufi path) that teaches concepts such as bai'at, z\ikir, rabitah, tawassul, s{ala>wa>t, etc. Some people perceive sufism and tariqa as heresy and despicable deeds. This study will discuss the history of sufism and tariqa focusing on the emergence and development, also the position, role, and importance of tariqa. Besides these problems, tariqa in the Nusantara will also be studied, specifically about the Naqshabandiyyah Khalidiyyah in Malaysia. The method of this study is literature review about sufism and tariqa, especially references that discuss the Naqsyabandiyyah Khalidiyyah in Malaysia. This study concludes that Naqsyabandiyyah Khalidiyyah is the most popular and widespread tariqa in Malaysia, which entered the Malay Peninsula through two main paths: Mecca and Sumatera. This tariqa is well received by people because it provides the teaching and guidance to bring people closer to Allah in order to be the perfect man (al-insan al-kamil) on the basis of syari>’a.

Abstract

The concept of education according to Said Nursi’s view is an integration of three main elements or subjects which combine religious sciences (al-ulum al-diniyah), science of universe and modern technology (al-ulum al-kauniyah al-haditha) and the values of sufism doctrine. Nursi stated that religious knowledge is the light for heart and modern science is the light of the mind, a combination of both will guide to the truth and minimize the fanaticism and intellectual confusion. The main curriculum of learning that used is the study of the main topics contained in the Risale-i Nur. This concept will combine three holistic manners: spirituality from the religious schools (medrese), science and technology from the secular schools (mekteb) and morality from the sufistic schools (tekke).

Abstract

Badiuzzaman Said Nursi (1877-1960) yang terlahir dari keluarga sederhana pengamal tarekat Naqsyabandiyah dikenal sebagai tokoh sentral gerakan kultural “Thullab Al-Nur” di Turki. Dia tumbuh dan berjuang pada masa akhir keruntuhan kekhalifahan Utsmani dan era awal pemerintahan Republik Turki. Di antara pandangan Said Nursi yang menarik untuk dikaji adalah mengenai konsep tasawuf. Nursi menuangkan pemikiran tasawuf dalam karya masterpiece-nya Risalah Nur. Dengan mengkaji dan menganalisa karya Nursi tersebut serta meneliti pendapat para pakar tentang Nursi dan gagasannya dapat disimpulkan bahwa Nursi membangun konsep tasawufnya secara ilmiah, kontekstual, mudah diaplikasikan dan inklusif. Konsep tasawuf Nursi ini merupakan ekstraksi dari nilai-nilai moderasi yang jauh dari kesan eksklusif, ekstrem dan tekstualis. Nursi membangun argumen konsep tasawufnya dengan menjelaskannya secara sederhana dan mudah dipahami yang mencerminkan ajaran Islam yang moderat.Kata Kunci: Tasawuf, Moderasi, Said Nursi

Abstract

The objective of the study is to analyze the method of Badiuzzaman Sa’id Nursi to understand Hadiths in Kitab Rasail Al-Nur. The hadiths are mostly related to aqidah, charity motivation, and confusion (syubhat) between the materialist group and ahl kitab in understanding the hadith. The hermeneutic approach of the qualitative method is employed in this study in which both the objective aspect (hadiths in the kitab of Rasail Al Nur) and the subjective aspect (the thought background of Said Nursi) are analyzed. The data of the study is the hadiths in the Kitab  Rasail Al-Nur of Chapter One al-Kalimat, chapter two al-Maktubat, chapter three al-Lama’at, and chapter four Al-Syuat. Then the data is thematically analyzed by using the NVivo 12 and it is revealed that there are twelve methods of Said Nursi to understand hadiths in the book of Rasail Al-Nur, namely: i) Al-Din al-Imtihan (Religion is an exam); ii) Thabaqah Masail al-Islamiyah (Various issues in Islam have different levels and positions); iii) Ma’lumat Ulama Ahl al-Kitab (Information for ahl kitab Christians and Jews); iv) Al-Idraj (Insertion or Merging); v) Al-Ilham (Inspiration); vi) Al-Amtsal (analogy); vii) Al-Tasybihat al-Balaghiyah (rhetorical parables); viii) Hikmah al-Ikhfa’ (wisdom of hiding); ix) Wijhah al-Masail al-Imaniyah (some perspectives on some faith issues); x) Balaghah al-Irsyad (rhetoric art of giving guidance); xi) Al-Mutasyabihat (the resemblance); xii) Ikhtilaf Zawiyah al-Nazhar (different perspectives). The finding could be initial data for further analysis to study different issues in similar contexts.
