So this study aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning models with science process skills on students' active learning. This research is a quantitative study using the pre-experimental method type one group pretest posttest. The population and sample in this study were 30 students in class VA at SD Pilang 1, Wonoayu District, Sidoarjo Regency. In this study, researchers used the pretest as the first benchmark before being given treatment by researchers to get an average result of 52.01. Then the second benchmark uses the posttest after being given treatment by the researcher to get an average result of 87.15. In this study, the tcount was 24.0792 and the ttable was 2.04522964. The conclusion of the research results shows that there is a significant influence between the use of problem based learning models on science process skills

Data were collected using structured interview guidelines. The research informants were the guardians of students in the Sidoarjo District area, totaling 60 people according to the data requirements needed by the researchers. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the parents in choosing a school considered the facilities, curriculum, service, and quality factors of a school. The high cost of education is not a barrier for parents to continue their child's education because if a child excels and has a strong will, there will always be a way to continue his education to a higher level.

Abstract

This research is motivated by low critical thinking skills which is caused by the lack of effectiveness of learning in the classroom. Approach used by the teacher in the classroom makes students passive and afraid because they think that mathematics is a difficult and scary subject, so this study aims to determine the effect of a realistic mathematics education (RME) approach on the critical thinking skills of grade IV students at Pilang 1 Elementary School with 20 students. The importance of teachers to implement fun and real learning can improve students' critical thinking skills. This research method is quantitative with a quasi-experimental research type and uses a one-group pretest and posttest research design. The results obtained in this study are thumg = 9.94 and > ttable = 2.09. The average pretest score was 49.70 while the posttest had an increase of 72.77. This shows that there are differences in pretest and posttest scores after the implementation of RME, so it can be concluded that the RME approach has an effect on students' critical thinking skills in learning mathematics.
