Abstract

This article describes “the factors of character building based on Proverbs 13:22 on inheritance and moral teachings.” The uniqueness of the book of Proverbs is that besides discussing the importance of the relationship between God and humans, it also shows the importance of Character Building. The analysis of this scientific work uses the research method of Wisdom Hermeneutics, which uses literal, context, structural and figurative analysis. The nature of a righteous person deserves to bequeath property to children / other people to obtain inheritance rights. Robert Williamson provides an interpretation of Proverbs 13:22 by emphasizing the habit of experience as the main factor in character building, while Mark Rathbone finds that the family/community factor is a habit /culture in the interpretation of Proverbs 13:22. But from the other side, this article shows that the Interpretation of Proverbs 13:22 discover 4 factors for character building regarding inheritance and moral teachings, namely: Personality Factors, Life Example, Communication and Financial Literacy. Where these factors are passed from one generation to another.

Abstract

Psalm 13 is a repetition which ends by moving to serenity as part of God's help. The method used is qualitative with a hermeneutic approach, especially poetry Genre. This study aims to explain a repetition of the psalmist as an emphasis on supplication to God which has an impact on theological values. This article finds the psalmist's complaint three times repeated; first, the expression of the psalmist's long-suffering despair, the second the psalmist sincerely hoped for deliverance from God which could soon be realized. Then there is a repetition of the salvation of God Himself, who saves from the world of death, illuminates the eyes (verse 3), and the third does good things (v. 5b).

Abstract

Genesis 2 deals a lot with a description of the time, reason, manner and outcome of Genesis regarding the creation of male and female relationships, especially the second part in Genesis 2:18-25. The scope of the discussion 2:18-22 is widely discussed using contemporary issues with the lens of social, psychology and anthropology. Likewise, the issues of biblical research on its use of canonical and non-canonical texts. By using the sub-hermeneutic qualitative method: Exegesis, the author finds that God's initiative for the purpose of His creation to humans can be observed through repetion parallelism (stair parallelism) in the scope of Genesis 2:18-22 (“God said…,” “God formed… ,” God created…” and “God created…”). This can be observed when initiative God created a woman by observing the word image and likeness of God, so as not to emphasize the superiority and inferiority between men and women. Kejadian 2 banyak membahas suatu deskripsi waktu, alasan, cara dan hasil mengenai Kejadian penciptaan hubungan laki-laki dan perempuan, khususnya bagian kedua dalam kejadian 2:18-25. Lingkup pembahasan 2:18-22 banyak dibahas dengan menggunakan isu-isu kontemporer dengan lensa sosial, psikologi, antropologi. Begitu pun, isu-isu penelitian biblika terhadap penggunaannya terhadap teks kanonik dan non-kanonik. Dengan menggunakan metode kulitatif sub-hermeneutik: Eksegesis, penulis menemukan bahwa inisiatif Allah atas tujuan ciptaanNya kepada manusia dapat diperhatikan melalui paralelisme repetisi (paralelisme bertangga) dalam lingkup Kejadian 2:18-22 (“Tuhan Allah berfirman…,” “Tuhan Allah membentuk…,” Tuhan Allah membuat…” dan “Tuhan Allah menciptakan…”). Ini dapat dicermati ketika inisiatif Allah menciptakan seorang perempuan dengan mencermati kata gambar dan rupa Allah, sehingga tidak menekankan superioritas dan inferioritas antara laki-laki dan perempuan.

Abstract

Book of Isaiah has many uses of figurative language styles (such as: metaphor, simile, metonymy, etc.), including the call of Isaiah (6:1-13). This article is unique in its interpretation of the study of the words “’ăḏōnāy,” “kissê,” and “YHWH ṣəḇā’ōwṯ” by paying attention to the overall structure of Isaiah 6:1-13. As a result, by using sub-hermeneutic qualitative studies, especially word-study, this article finds two synthesizing combinations of the emphasis on the meaning of the “’ăḏōnāy,” “kissê,” and “YHWH ṣəḇā’ōwṯ” in the structure of Isaiah 6:1-13 . First, the words “’ăḏōnāy,” “kissê,” and “YHWH ṣəḇā’ōwṯ” show God's power over his creation and attach importance to His dignity as king. second, the words above focus on the relationship between God and humans (Isaiah, Israel) who worship and serve Him as God who has authority over His creation.

Abstract

Gembala Sidang adalah pemimpin dalam sebuah gereja. Gembala Sidang pemegang otoritas tertinggi dalam sebuah gereja. Namun perlu disadari bahwa kepemimpinan Gembala Sidang melekat juga dalam sisi kehidupannya. Artinya kepemimpinan dan karakter kehidupan Gembala Sidang tidak bisa dipisahkan. Karakter Gembala Sidang sangat mempengaruhi kepemimpinannya dalam sebuah gereja dan keluarga. Jadi, keberhasilan kepemimpinan Gembala Sidang sangat ditentukan dengan karakter yang dimiliki Gembala Sidang. Karakter Gembala Sidang menjadi dasar dalam segala hal. Beberapa kepemimpinan Gembala Sidang sangat tidak maksimal, karena memiliki karakter yang tidak sesuai dengan kebenaran Firman Tuhan. Menggembalakan dengan tujuan-tujuan yang bersifat demi kepentingan diri sendiri. Dan fokus karakter Gembala Sidang akan dibahas dalam konteks Matius 11:28-31 yang bersentral kepada Yesus Kristus. Penulisan ini menggunakan metode deskritif literatur. Tujuannya supaya lewat penulisan yaitu Pertama, memahami prinsip-prinsip karakter Gembala Sidang yang sesuai dengan kebenaran Firman Tuhan; Kedua, memberikan pengertian secara pasti bahwa karakter Gembala Sidang yang sesuai Matius 11:28-31 akan membawa perkembangan gerjea yang luar biasa; Ketiga, memberikan teladan yang terbaik bagi pemimpin-pemimpin gereja selanjutnya.

Abstract

The Book of Lamentations is a book rich in theological reflections on condemnation and hope. The reflection is enriched by the type of literature used, poetry with the lamentation subgenre, and with an acrostic and stratified text structure. The richness and depth of his theological contemplation encourage the research of this book in biblical theology. The purpose of this study is to find biblical theology of punishment and hope according to the Book of Lamentations. The method used in this study is a synthesis method by finding literary forms, book structures, major themes, and developing these themes by investigating the text based on the structure of the book, as well as investigating various supporting literature. Through this research, it was found that the sins of the people can lead to God's judgment and that punishment causes painful suffering. The right response is to recognize sin and repent and hope in God. God's faithful love and mercy are a strong foundation of hope for believers.

Abstract

Integritas merupakan suatu hal yang sangat penting yang harus dimiliki seorang pemimpin dalam memimpin sebuah komunitas atau suatu kelompok. Nasihat dari sang ibu kepada Lemuel dalam teks Amsal 31:1-9 menunjukkan ada beberapa prinsip yang memiliki keterkaitan dengan seorang pemimpin berintegritas dan tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menemukan prinsip-prinsip seorang pemimpin yang berintegritas dengan melihat teks tersebut. Metode yang dilakukan dalam tulisan ini adalah pendekatan metode kualitatif dengan sub-hermeneutika sastra hikmat yang menggunakan beberapa analisis sesuai dengan kitab yang bergenre sastra. Jika memperhatikan interpretasi Amsal 31:1-9, maka Artikel ini menemukan adanya tiga prinsip mengenai integrtias seorang seorang pemimpin yaitu seorang yang konsisten dalam setiap perkataan dan tindakan, jujur dalam melakukan segala hal, serta adil dalam mengambil keputusan.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to understand the meaning of fear of God in the text of Proverbs 1-9. Because the phrase "fear of God" often shows a gap in interpretation as an action-consequence relationship and re-interpretation in the orientation of obedience to wise qualities. This study uses a qualitative approach using the hermeneutic method of the wisdom genre, in particular paying attention coherently to the thematic phrase "fear of the Lord" in Proverbs 1-9. Thematic analysis of the relation of wisdom literature pays attention to translational or literal analysis, context, theological and especially the structure of antithetical parallelism, as well as the character-consequence pattern of the fool and the wise man. The result of this study is that the phrase "fear of God" describes a rebuke and rejection of wisdom which has bad consequences for a person. However, the peculiarity of wisdom in the phrase "fear of the Lord" provides a coherent orientation between knowledge and knowledge of God. It can be concluded that the basis of wisdom, namely "fearing the Lord" provides an understanding for wise and stupid people. The uniqueness of this interpretation is caused by the peculiarity of the pattern of words that are retribution (cause and effect) in the book of Proverbs 1-9. Not surprisingly, the meaning of the phrase "fear of God" emphasizes character/habits and the impact of true wisdom.

Abstract

The Meaning of the Ordination of the Jerusalem Wall in Nehemiah 12: 27-43 discusses two processes, each of which was led by a group of choirs, traveling from the opposite direction along the upper part of the vast wall. The Israelites met in the Temple area and ended with thanksgiving and sacrifices. This scientific work uses a text research methodology with a specific narrative genre in the form of story reports. The report on the dedication of the walls of Jerusalem does not reveal a problem or a resolution. The text only describes the sequence of events (facts) in the dedication of the walls of Jerusalem. The dedication ceremony for the Jerusalem wall was a report from Nehemiah. The text of Nehemiah 12: 27-43 only describes events that occurred during the celebration of the dedication of the walls of Jerusalem. The theological significance in the Ordination of the Jerusalem Wall according to Nehemiah 12: 27-43 shows the role of God (God gives joy, God guides the repair of Jerusalem's walls), the importance of giving thanks, and the importance of God's people in praising God. Abstrak Indonesia Makna penahbisan Tembok Yerusalem dalam Nehemia 12:27-43 membahas dua proses, yang masing-masing dipimpin oleh sekelompok paduan suara, yang berjalan dari arah berlawanan di sepanjang bagian atas tembok yang luas itu. Orang Israel bertemu di area Bait Suci dan diakhiri dengan ucapan syukur dan pengorbanan. Karya ilmiah ini menggunakan metodologi penelitian teks dengan genre naratif tertentu berupa laporan cerita. Laporan tentang penahbisan tembok Yerusalem ini tidak sedang mengungkapkan masalah atau penyelesaian. Teks tersebut hanya menggambarkan urutan kejadian (fakta) dalam peresmian tembok Yerusalem. Upacara peresmian tembok Yerusalem merupakan laporan dari Nehemia. Teks Nehemia 12:27-43 hanya menggambarkan peristiwa yang terjadi pada perayaan peresmian tembok Yerusalem. Makna teologis dalam penahbisan Tembok Yerusalem menurut Nehemia 12:27-43 menunjukkan peran Tuhan (Tuhan memberi sukacita, Tuhan membimbing perbaikan tembok Yerusalem), pentingnya mengucap syukur, dan pentingnya umat Tuhan dalam memuji Tuhan.

Abstract

The groups of Proverbs 10-29 present a topical discussion, such as wealth, poverty, honesty, diligence, gentleness, etc. Proverbs 28:6; 19:1 speaks of the integrity of wise men who do not prioritize wealth. The problem is that interpreters limit the emphasis to elements essential to the formation of integrity in the assemblies of Proverbs 10-29, such as decision-making and character habituation. However, using a qualitative study of the sub-interpretive design of wisdom literature (especially considering the structure of parallelism, figurative language style), this article finds that there is an attachment between decision making, consistency in the nature of wisdom and character evaluation in the formation of integrity in a wise person. The attachment of these three elements is due to the existence of the wording pattern of item-evaluation and the character of the evaluation of parallelism Proverbs 28:6; 19:1.Keywords: Integrity; Parallelism; Book of Proverbs AbstrakKumpulan-kumpulan Amsal 10-29 menyuguhkan suatu pembahasan secara topikal, misalnya mengenai kekayaan, kemiskinan, kejujuran, ketekunan, kelemahlembutan, dll. Tidak terkecuali mengenai topik integritas, Amsal 28:6;19:1 membahas mengenai integritas dari orang bijak yang tidak mengutamakan harta kekayaan. Permasalahannya, para penafsir hanya membatasi penekanan elemem-elemen penting dalam pembentukan integritas dalam kumpulan-kumpulan Amsal 10-29, misalnya pengambilan keputusan dan pembiasaan karakter. Akan tetapi, dengan menggunakan kajian kualitatif sub interpretative design sastra hikmat (khususnya memperhatikan struktur paralelisme, gaya bahasa kiasan), artikel ini menemukan bahwa adanya keterikatan antara pengambilan keputusan, konsistensi pada sifat-sifat hikmat dan evaluasi karakter dalam pembentukan integritas pada seseorang yang bijak. Keterikatan ketiga elemen ini disebabkan oleh adanya pola perkataan item-evaluasi dan karakter evaluasi terhadap paralelisme Amsal 28:6; 19:1.Kata Kunci: Integritas; Paralelisme; Kitab Amsal.
