Abstract

This paper aims to analyze factors affecting the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (IDX) during the Pademi Corona Crisis. This study uses the multiple linear regression analysis technique where the variable number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the world, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Indonesia, the Rupiah exchange rate per 1 US dollar,  and the world crude oil price are used as independent variables (X) and the IHSG as the dependent variable (Y), the data used in this study are weekly time series data from the period December 2019 to September 2020. Based on the results of variable regression between the IHSG, Exchange Rates, Oil Prices, cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia and COVID-19 World, It is concluded that collectively the independent variables have a significant effect on the IHSG. Partially, Oil Prices, COVID-19 cases in Indonesia and COVID-19 cases in the world have a significant effect on the IHSG. Meanwhile, the exchange rate has no significant effect on the IHSG.

Abstract

The training includes introducing the concept of packaging, the benefits of packaging, packaging design, and making packaging product. Kemplang crackers, Rengginang, Chips, and Pempek are commodities produced by the SMEs assisted by the PPMK in Prabumulih City. However, the packaging is inadequate so that it is not feasible to be marketed to a wider market such as minimarkets, hotels, or other modern markets. The result of this training is that participants understand the importance of adequate packaging so the product has value-added and can increase product competitiveness. Participants become skilled in packaging after packaging practice. We recommend that the training program for packaging craft products be continued by providing packaging tools so that more groups of craftsmen can experience the benefits. The training participants are expected to be able to take an active role in improving the quality of the product and pass the knowledge they have gained to other craftsmen in their area.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between air pollution, economic growth, and life expectancy in Indonesia. The observation period during 1985-2019 used time-series data obtained from the World Bank. Quantitative approach by applying two main models, namely the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model by considering the effect of time-lapse and Granger causality with vector error correction method. Research findings prove that air pollution has a negative and significant effect on life expectancy in the long run. Economic growth has a positive and significant effect on life expectancy. In the short run, the current life expectancy is positively and significantly influenced by the life expectancy of the previous period. Air pollution has a negative and significant effect on life expectancy, and economic growth has a negative and significant effect on life expectancy. Another finding in the Granger causality model is a two-way relationship between air pollution and life expectancy. Other evidence exists of a two-way relationship between economic growth and air pollution. In addition, evidence of a unidirectional relationship of economic growth with life expectancy in the short run. The cointegration equation shows evidence of a long-run relationship between air pollution, economic growth, and life expectancy..How to Cite:Bashir, A., Liliana, L., Hidayat, A., Suhel, S., Hamidi, I., & Atiyatna, D. Abstract

The objective of this study is to test the trilemma and the quadrilemma monetary policy using Indonesia data with covering years 1983 – 2017. The research suggest that the monetary independence and capital account openness might have been more passionately pursued by Bank Indonesia for testing the trilemma; while testing of the quadrilemma, the concentration seems to have shifted to take a middle position within each policy objectives. In this study, the full sample period is split in three subsamples: 1983-2017, 1983 – 1999 and 2000 – 2017. The methodology used in this research is ordinary least square. Our findings show that the policy might have shifted from exchange rate stability, capital account openness and foreign reserves in the first subsample to other four policy objectives in the second subsample. It indicates that foreign reserve plays as fourth objective leading the central bank to achieve at the same time the three “impossible” goals. Therefore, taking into account foreign reserve as a monetary policy objective is deserved. Adequacy of reserves could higher our capacity to prevent or mitigate external shocks.
