Abstract

Human anatomy and physiology course has a variety of interrelated or integrate concepts and causalrelationship, so that the concepts easier to understand student learning process is done using a mindmap. The role of the mind map is very important because it helps the students categorize the material in accordance with the idea that it is easier to understand. Mind map is a way of noting a fun, easy way toabsorb and release information and new ideas. Mind map using sign or symbol which is equipped witha color. Signs or symbols that are used as well as color influence strengthening student understandingand memory. Each concept can be expressed with one word idea and visualized with a symbol or image.This research aims to improve student learning outcomes in Human Anatomy Physiology using mindmap. This research is a classroom action research that begins with: 1) planning action, 2)implementation, 3) observation, 4) reflection. The results showed an increase in student learningoutcomes. The first cycle, the average student learning outcomes is 66, 32. The second cycle, the averagestudent learning outcomes 70,35 and increased again in third cycle to 76.79. Based on the resultsconcluded that the use of mind mapping can improve learning outcomes of students in the subject ofHuman Physiology Anatomy.Keywords: mind map, learning outcomes, Human Physiology and Anatomy

Abstract

This research was conducted in order to determine the teacher’s competencies on management of science laboratory based on Permendiknas no. 26/2008 in Pekanbaru City for academic year 2014/2015. Subjects in this study are science teachers who manage science laboratories of secondary schools in Pekanbaru City. The numbers of subjects are 29 people from Public Secondary School in Pekanbaru City. Collecting data in this study was conducted by questionnaire, interview, and observation (The data analyzed descriptively and the unit measurement on analysis technique that used in this study is percentage.) From the research, its known that personal competence categorized as very competent  with percentage of 91.01%. Social competence is 89.90% categorized as very competent. Competence of administration is 86.74%. Then the professional competence 86.64% categorized as very competent. Competence managerial categorized as very competent (86%). It can be concluded that level of competence in management of the science lab teachers at Pekanbaru’s Public Secondary Schools for Academic Year 2014/2015 are very competent.Keywords: Management of science laboratory; public secondary school; teacher competencies

Abstract

Pembelajaran akan dapat dipahami apabila siswa memiliki minat terhadap mata pelajaran yang dipelajarinya, termasuk biologi. Minat belajar siswa dapat dipengaruhi oleh penggunaan media pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui minat belajar siswa kelas XII MIPA SMAN 1 Ujung Batu terhadap mata pelajaran biologi dengan menggunakan media powerpoint. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis survei dengan instrumen berupa angket yang diberikan kepada siswa melalui google form berisi 30 item pernyataan. Indikator minat pada angket adalah kesenangan, ketertarikan, perhatian, dan keterlibatan siswa pada mata pelajaran biologi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara menghitung skor angket masing-masing siswa, kemudian menjadikannya dalam persentase dan diinterpretasi dengan kategori sangat baik, baik, kurang baik, dan tidak baik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan indikator kesenangan siswa sebesar 66,37%, ketertarikan siswa sebesar 72,43%, perhatian siswa sebesar 73,62%, dan keterlibatan siswa 79%. Penelitian ini pada akhirnya menghasilkan simpulan bahwa 72,85% siswa memiliki minat yang dikategorikan baik selama mengikuti proses pembelajaran biologi dengan menggunakan media powerpoint.  Keterlibatan siswa pada mata pelajaran biologi adalah indikator paling tinggi (sangat baik) karena ketika guru menayangkan media powerpoint dan terdapat point materi yang tidak dipahami siswa, maka siswa akan berusaha membacanya berulang kali dan menanyakan kepada guru. Learning will be understood if students have an interest in the subjects they are studying, including biology. Students' interest in learning can be influenced by the use of learning media. The purpose of the study was to determine the learning interest of class XII MIPA students of SMAN 1 Ujung Batu towards biology subjects using powerpoint media. This study was a type of survey with an instrument in the form of a questionnaire that given to students via a google form containing 30 statement items. The indicators of interest in the questionnaire were the students' enjoyment, interest, attention, and involvement in biology subjects. Data analysis was carried out by calculating the score of each student's questionnaire, then making it a percentage and interpreting it with categories of very good, good, less good, and not good.The results showed that the indicators of students’ enjoyment was 66.37%, students’ interest was 72.43%, students’ attention was 73.62%, and students’ involvement was 79%. This study ultimately resulted in the conclusion that 72.85% of students had good interest during the biology learning process using powerpoint media. The involvement of students in biology was the highest indicator (very good) because when the teacher showed the powerpoint media and there were material points that the students did not understand, the students would try to read it repeatedly and ask the teacher.

Abstract

Motivasi merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motivasi belajar biologi siswa dengan menggunakan media berbasis video melalui penggunaan google classroom. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan teknik survei pada siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN 1 Pagaran Tapah Darussalam Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021. Sampel penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA yang berjumlah 30 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket motivasi yang terdiri dari 35 item. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket online yang dibuat melalui google form. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata motivasi belajar siswa 75,65% yang berada pada kategori tinggi. Indikator tertinggi yaitu perasaan senang sedangkan yang paling rendah adalah efektifitas media. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian ini bahwa penggunaan video pembelajaran melalui google classroom dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar biologi siswa di kelas XI IPA SMAN 1 Pagaran Tapah Darussalam. Mengacu pada hal ini, guru-guru di sekolah dapat memanfaatkan video selama proses belajar mengajar yang dikombinasikan google classrom sehingga motivasi belajar siswa dapat mengalami peningkatan.

Abstract

Portfolio assessment with the dimension of learning approach is an ideal combination to improve mastery concept and habits of mind students. The use of this assessment and approach can fully describe the students abilities during the learnig process. This study aims to determine the effect of using portfolio assessment with the dimension of learning approach on students' mastery of concepts on the excretion system material at the state senior high school in Pekanbaru City. This research is a weak experiment research with pretest posttest group design. The instrument in this study was a matter of conceptual mastery using Marzanos taxonomy. The instrument used was valid and reliable with a value of 0.56. The data were processed descriptively using the N-Gain formula and inferential statistics with one sample t test with a value of 0.31. The results of this study indicate that the students' mastery of concepts after the use of portfolio assessment with the dimension of learning approach increased for W senior high school 0.39 (sufficient); X senior high school 0.54 (sufficient); Y senior high school 0.68 (sufficient) and  Z senior high school0.39 (sufficient) with an average of 0.50 in the sufficient category. After the inferential test was carried out, it was obtained tcount (10.67)> ttable (0.00) so that it could be concluded that the use of portfolio assessment with the dimension of learning approach could significantly influence students' mastery of concepts. Referring to the findings of this study, teachers at the senior high school level, especially in the field of biology, can use portfolio assessment with the dimension of learning approach as a form of innovative assessment in the learning process.

Abstract

Creativity yang dimiliki siswa dapat berkembang dengan optimal ketika guru mampu mengajarkannya dengan baik di sekolah. SDN 006 Langgini merupakan salah satu sekolah di Kecamatan Bangkinang Kota, Kabupaten Kampar dengan jumlah rombongan belajar mencapai 18 kelas. Bentuk evaluasi yang dilakukan selama ini terhadap siswa didominasi oleh pemberian tes berupa soal. Oleh karena itu, dilaksanakan pengabdian kepada masyarakat sebagai upaya agar guru-guru mengetahui arti penting creativity, kemudian menyusun rubrik dan tes creativity. Metode yang di lakukan pada kegiatan ini adalah observasi, presentasi dan diskusi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada hari Selasa/09 Maret 2021 di SDN 006 Langgini dengan jumlah guru yang hadir sebanyak 30 orang. Guru-guru ini terdiri dari guru mata pelajaran dan guru kelas. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan tersebut dapat diketahui bahwa guru telah melaksanakan evaluasi dengan baik termasuk melakukan penilaian proses dan produk. Guru juga memahami arti penting menilai creativity siswa. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengabdian kepada masayarakat ini memberikan kontribusi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam penilaian creativity siswa SDN 006 Langgini Kecamatan Bangkinang Kota.

Abstract

Pendidikan pada abad 21 ini perlu membekali siswa dengan keterampilan terutama 4Cs’ (critical thinking, communication, collaboration dan creativity). Namun, guru-guru di SMPN 1 kuok belum memahami secara utuh tentang pentingnya 4Cs’ dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga perlu dilakukan kegiatan yang bertujuan memberikan informasi tentang makna dan komponen apa saja yang terdapat pada 4C’s serta peran pentingnya dalam proses pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan masyarakat ini berupa wawancara, presentasi dan diskusi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada hari Kamis, 30 September 2021 yang bertempat di SMPN 1 Kuok Kecamatan Kuok. Pemaparan materi berlangsung dengan lancar dengan dihadiri 20 orang peserta termasuk kepala sekolah. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa guru mampu memahami dengan baik 4Cs setelah diberikan penjelasan melalui PPT. Hal ini tampak dari respon yang diberikan guru melalui jawaban-jawaban yang disampaikan melalui G-Form, Berdasarkan kegiatan ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa guru telah mampu memahami 4Cs sebagai bagian penting dari proses pembelajaran yang dibutuhkan pada era revolusi industri 4.0.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are among the main skills in the 21st Century. However, many schools in Indonesia have not trained their students' critical thinking skills optimally. The purpose of this study was to identify the quality of high-school students' critical thinking skills. A survey was conducted to 175 tenth graders who were registered in the academic year of 2017/2018. The participants came from five different state senior high schools in Bengkulu, Indonesia. An essay test was used as an instrument to measure the students' critical thinking skills. The results showed that the students' average scores on providing simple explanations, presenting advanced delineation, and making assumptions and integration were in low category (48.15, 49.46, 50.25, respectively). On the other hand, the participants obtained medium scores on decision making (68.04) and conclusion drawing (65.24) and a good score on the management of strategies and tactics (70.00). It can be concluded that the overall rating of the students' CTS was weak, and therefore requires appropriate handling. These results indicate that it is necessary to apply learning strategies that can improve students' critical thinking skills in class.

Abstract

Natural Science subject is a science that examines events that occur in nature with scientific activities. One of the scientific activities that can be carried out is practical experiment. Students are required to be able to use various kinds of laboratory tools in order to avoid mistakes in the experimental result. Therefore, it is necessary to develop learning resources that introduce biology laboratory tools. One of the learning resources that can be used is the encyclopedia. This study aims to analyze the problem faced by teachers and students in the implementation of Science-Biology learning, as well as, analyze need of students for learning resource that will be used to introduce biology laboratory tools. This study using a survey method using a questionnaire as a data collection. The instrument is interview sheet, problem analysis questionnaire, and product needs questionnaire. The data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques. The results showed 73% of students did not know the name, function and how to use biology laboratory equipment, and as many 86% of students need learning resources that were useful for introducing biology laboratory tool and material.
