Abstract

The purpose of this study was to increase student learning independence in Civics subjects by applying the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) learning model in class X IPS 3 SMA Negeri 8 Muaro Jambi. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with a research design using the Kemmis & Taggart spiral model. The research was carried out in 3 cycles where each cycle consisted of 3 meetings. Each cycle is carried out through 4 stages of activity, namely planning, implementing actions, observing (observation), and reflecting. The success criterion set in the research is 60%. The results showed that in cycle I the level of student learning independence increased from the initial condition of an average value of 23% to 49% but had not yet reached the established success criteria. Cycle I then made improvements to continue in cycle II. After the repairs were made, there was an increase in cycle II which increased by 9% to 58% but also did not reach the specified success criteria. Improvements were made again in cycle II to be continued in cycle III. The results of the research cycle III increased by 11% to 69%, which means that the action was declared successful because it had achieved the specified success criteria.Keywords: Independent Learning, CTL Learning Model

Abstract

This study aims to determine the pattern of compliance of the people of Jambi City to the Covid-19 prevention health protocol. Various factors that influence the level of community compliance were analysed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) approach with Partial Least Square (PLS) or SEM-PLS. Data were obtained from the results of a survey of the people of Jambi City who were selected based on regional sampling techniques, starting from the District and Village. Determination of the number of samples using the Slovin formula, the results obtained were 277 respondents. The results of the analysis show that the level of community compliance with the Covid-19 prevention health protocol is quite high. The legal awareness variable significantly mediates the effect of social status variables and legal socialization on legal compliance but is not significant as a mediator of the influence of legal culture variables on legal compliance. For this reason, it is necessary to concern all parties to build public awareness by (1) providing education and understanding through effective socialization programs, (2) building cooperation with community leaders, especially religious leaders and traditional leaders, and (3) providing concessions to the community. Public. So that the poor is not constrained in complying with the Covid-19 prevention health protocol.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal yang dilakukan di MTs Muhammadiyah Kota Jambi terdapat sebuah permasalahan yaitu kurangnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Dikarenakan guru belum menerapkan model pembelajaran yang inovasi, dan guru belum pernah menggunakan model pembelajaran jurisprudential inquiry dalam proses pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran jurisprudential inquiry terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Digunakan pendekatan kuantitatif desain penelitian quasi experimental design dengan rancangan nonequivalent control group design. Objek penelitian MTs Muhammadiyah Kota Jambi, populasi siswa kelas VIII dengan 32 siswa. Diperoleh data menggunakan soal tes, hasil analisis kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran jurisprudential inquiry memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan, dimana diperoleh sig.(2-tailed) 0,0340,05 maka Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Artinya terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran jurisprudential inquiry terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Maka, sebaiknya dalam proses pembelajaran pendidik menyampaikan materi pelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran jurisprudential inquiry, dilakukan agar kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran mengalami perubahan yang positif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh banyaknya kasus geng motor yang diakibatkan oleh ulah anak remaja di kota Jambi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor penyebab terjadinya kenakalan remaja pada komunitas geng motor dan upaya penanggulangannya. Penelitian dilakukan di Kota Jambi, Provinsi Jambi. Adapun yang menjadi informan dalam penelitian ini yaitu; Remaja geng motor, Aparat Kepolisian Polresta Kota Jambi, dan Dinas Sosial Kota Jambi. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya kenakalan remaja geng motor yaitu karena faktor keluarga, pengaruh teman sebaya, dan lingkungan.  Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa remaja geng motor memiliki rasa kesetiakawanan yang tinggi. Hal tersebut menyebabkan faktor teman sebaya merupakan faktor penyebab yang paling dominan sebagai alasan remaja bergabung dalam komunitas geng motor. Adapun upaya penanggulangan yang dilakukan oleh Polresta Kota Jambi dan Dinas Sosial Kota Jambi yaitu Upaya Preventif (Pencegahan) berupa sosialisasi dan Refresif (Tindakan).

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' social skills and learning outcomes through the case method model with a cooperative learning approach. Students ' social skills are still low, considering the indicators of group work, group presentations, discussions, and opinions that have an impact on learning outcomes. Student learning outcomes also include affective, cognitive, and psychomotor domains. This study uses a class action research method with three cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation of actions, observation, analysis, and reflection. This research was carried out in Class A with a total of 32 students who are in the class of 2022 History Education Study Program, PIPS Department, FKIP, University of Jambi. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and literature analysis. The results showed that the application of CSE method model with a cooperative learning approach can improve students ' social skills. The percentage of social skills in the first cycle was 41.4. In the second cycle, social skills increased to 63.2, and in the third cycle, to 82.2. For the learning outcomes in the cycle, I got a score of 71.1. Cycle two increased by a value of 74.4, and cycle III got a score of 78.9. it can be concluded that the case method learning model with a cooperative learning approach to improve students' social skills.

Abstract

Abstract This research is motivated by several obstacles in the implementation of learning, namely the low participation of students, besides the fact that teachers use learning methods commonly applied in the classroom is conventional learning which tends to minimize student involvement and teachers are more active. Based on the results of the study, it was shown that in the process of implementing the Think Pair Share Cooperative Learning Model in Civics subjects, student participation increased. This success criterion is 75% or more of the 100% percentage range. This success can be proven in the first cycle before the application of the Think Pair Share Cooperative Learning Model, the student participation was only at 45.9% in the low category, after applying the model at the end of the first cycle the percentage of students increased to 60.5% in the sufficient category. In the second cycle the percentage of student participation increased again to 65.8% in the good category, but had not reached the desired target and in the third cycle the student participation increased from the second cycle, which was 79.1% in the good category.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by the massive use of social media, especially Instagram among students of the Jambi University Civics Study Program, moreover, Instagram social media is used as a source of political information, especially during the 2019 Presidential Election. The purpose of this research is to test whether there is an influence between communication Political participation through social media Instagram on the level of political participation of students from the Civics Education Study Program at the University of Jambi in the 2019 Presidential Election. This research is an Ex Post Facto study with a quantitative approach which is generally carried out in the Pancasila and Citizenship Education study program at the University of Jambi. The data collection technique used is a questionnaire (questionnaire). Based on the results of data analysis that has been carried out using a simple linear regression model with the help of the SPSS version 24 application, it is evident that the variable of political communication through social media Instagram (X) has a significant influence on political participation (Y). The magnitude of the influence between variables in the analysis of political communication through Instagram social media on political participation can be seen from the coefficient of determination R² which is 0.409 meaning that the effective contribution given by political communication through Instagram social media to political participation is 40.9% while the remaining 59.1% is a contribution from other variables outside of the variables studied by researchers.

Abstract

The results of the initial observations of researchers during the pandemic period, SMP Negeri 16 Jambi City continued to carry out the teaching and learning process as usual, but by using an online learning system. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of online learning courses during the pandemic covid PPKn-19 in SMP 16 terkhususnya class IX D, F IX and IXG. This research was conducted with a qualitative procedure with data and data sources obtained from informants, namely PPKn teachers who teach in class IX D, IX F and IX G and 2 students in class IX D, 2 students in class IX F and 1 student in class IX G. at SMP Negeri 16 Jambi City, with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of data analysis that has been carried out, the findings and conclusions of this study are as follows: (1) on the convenience of learning during the pandemic as time goes by, teachers and students have become comfortable and accustomed to online teaching and learning. (2) teachers' digital literacy skills are quite good. (3) the level of adaptation of students to online learning is very good even though there are obstacles but students can overcome them by themselves. (4) the adequacy of the devices used are quite capable, such as cellphones, computers/laptops,applications WhatsApp, Google Classmeet and Google Classroom, although there are still some students who do not have cellphones personal. (5) the internet connection for teachers and some students is adequate because they use facilities Wifi at home and get assistance quota from the government, while some of the other students still use quotas personally and do not get quotas from the government, especially transfer students. (6) the cost of online learning has been fulfilled, both from parents and from the government. (7) The comfort level of the application is very comfortable to use so that students can understand and understand the Civics material delivered by the teacher. (8) online commitment after the pandemic pandemic is not very attractive because teachers and students are more interested in learning offline or face-to-face.

Abstract

The election of regional heads is one part of the democratic mechanism and is the main gate in building leadership in the regions. The community of Rt 11 Tungkal II Village, Tungkal Ilir District, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency has successfully carried out the simultaneous elections on December 9, 2020, there are 2 perceptions put forward by the community, namely positive perceptions and negative perceptions. The negative perception conveyed was that the simultaneous regional elections in 2020 were like a political conspiracy where if other people did not use their voting rights or abstentions would be misused or fraud would occur, and the campaign delivered during this pandemic was indirect so that many people did not know the vision and mission. candidates, and there are some people who vote forcibly because of political money or dawn attacks. This research uses qualitative research methods. This study aims to determine the perception of the people of Rt 11 Tungkal II Village, Tungkal Ilir District, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency in the simultaneous regional head election in 2020, in this study the public perception expressed is different, some have a positive perception and some have a negative perception. The perception conveyed by the informant is in accordance with the experience or circumstances obtained. From these different perceptions, different opinions emerge from each informant, the positive perception conveyed by the community is more directed towards the candidate pair of candidates such as the vision-mission, work program and personality of the candidate, while the negative perception conveyed by the public is more of an attack on dawn or political money and campaign rules in the 2020 simultaneous elections. Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by the problems that exist in society that show the problem of bad morals of street children. Where street children do not behave in accordance with existing norms, and perform deviant behavior. The purpose of this study was to collect data on how the Social Service of Jambi City in implementing the moral development of street children, as well as the obstacles that hindered the implementation and the efficacy of moral counseling of street children in the Social Service of Jambi City. Using a combination of interviews and documentation, the qualitative data collection method of this study was considered reliable. A descriptive qualitative approach will be used in this study. Moral education for street children is still not well implemented, concludes this research conducted by the Jambi City Social Service. This is indicated by the existence of obstacles in the implementation of guidance both from facilities and infrastructure in the form of facilities, human resources, officers, or repetition of ignoring the rules on street children in the form of going down on the streets. The conclusion in this study is that the implementation of moral guidance for street children at the Jambi City Social Service is still less effective, which is indicated by the obstacles or problems found by researchers, namely the lack of human resources or officers, lack of facilities/facilities, ineffective time to provide guidance, and the lack of public awareness and attention of parents to their children.
