Abstract

Playing is basically a natural activity that children mostly like. It can be used as a means of learning, at least learning about rules and roles. The aim of this research is to study how teacher’s creativity influences the use of educational games in distance mathematics learning for eight graders. A number of thirty-five students from a public junior high school in North Sumatra involved in the study by completing a questionnaire regarding their perception on their teacher’s creativity and reporting student’s learning outcomes on mathematics subject. The authors did not conduct a test of learning outcomes but gathering the data from the school exam. The analysis shows there was contribution of teacher’s creativity level into learning outcomes. Y = 50.030 + 0.424X with level of determination as much as 0.277. It can be concluded that it is evident that teacher creativity is an important factor. Although this study fails to show new conclusions, the large amount of determination level could trigger more elaborated research.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of the Situation Based Learning (SBL) learning model on the mathematical problem-solving ability of eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Bandar Trade. The design of this study used a pretest-posttest Nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were all class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Bandar Trade T.A 2022/2023, and the samples in this study were all students of class VIII-1 and class VIII-5 students of SMP Negeri 2 Bandar Trade T.A 2022/2023 totaling 60 students. The instruments used in this study are validity, reliability, level of difficulty of test items and distinguishing power of test items. The data obtained were then analyzed using data analysis techniques, the average value of the Situation Based Learning (SBL) learning model was 82.13 and the average mathematical problem-solving ability was 56.03. The results of hypothesis testing after obtained tcount = 4.97 and ttable = 1.671. It means that tcount is greater than ttable which indicates  is rejected. Based on the description, it is concluded that the use of Situation Based Learning (SBL) learning model has an influence on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in SPLDV learning in class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Bandar Trade

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Problem-Solving learning model on the Mathematical Problem-Solving Ability of Class XI Students of Private High School Nommensen Pematangsiantar Campus. The design of this study used a pretest-posttest control group design. The population and sample in this study were all students of class XI Private High School Nommensen Pematangsiantar T.A 2022/2023 Campus, totaling 62 students. The instruments used in this study are validity, reliability, level of difficulty of test items and distinguishing power of test items. The data obtained were then analyzed using data analysis techniques, the average value of the results of the Problem-Solving learning model on students' mathematical problem abilities was 63.39. The results of hypothesis testing after obtained zcount = 2.530 and ztable = 1.960 This means that tcount is greater than ttable which indicates the hypothesis H0 is rejected. Based on the description, it is concluded that the use of the Problem-Solving learning model has an influence on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in learning the Composition Functions of the Private High School, Pematangsiantar Campus

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru melalui pelatihan model pembelajaran yang terintegrasi dengan kearifan lokal Sumatera Utara. Pelatihan ini diikuti oleh 20 guru SMA HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar dan berlangsung selama lima hari di Pematangsianatr. Metode pelatihan meliputi workshop, diskusi kelompok, dan simulasi kelas yang menekankan pada penggunaan elemen budaya lokal seperti ulos, cerita rakyat, dan sejarah lokal dalam pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kompetensi guru meningkat dari 60% pada pre-test menjadi 90% pada post-test, mencerminkan peningkatan sebesar 30%. Selain itu, 90% guru mulai mengimplementasikan kearifan lokal dalam pembelajaran sehari-hari setelah mengikuti pelatihan. Meskipun demikian, beberapa kendala seperti kesulitan dalam memahami dan mengadaptasi kearifan lokal ke dalam kurikulum, serta keterbatasan waktu dan sumber daya masih dihadapi oleh para guru. Untuk memastikan keberlanjutan peningkatan kompetensi, direkomendasikan adanya pelatihan lanjutan, workshop berkala, dan pendampingan berkelanjutan. Hasil penelitian ini juga mengindikasikan bahwa pelatihan berbasis kearifan lokal sangat efektif dan harus dipertimbangkan dalam kebijakan pendidikan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan serta melestarikan budaya lokal.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate and explore potential factors influencing the creative performance of using SIAKAD web-based learning (SWBL). This study utilised the effect of SWBL to improve students’ creative learning in English Syntactic Structure class. However, SWBL was theoretically researched, and this study's perspective enriched teachers' learning creativity. Therefore, the SWBL has been designed as a learning environment system with planning, learning, evaluation, and reflection based on attributes, processes, and learning contexts. Fifty students participated as participants that were randomly assigned to be the experimental and the control group. This study used quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design. This research method was used to determine which group was effective in helping students improve their academic achievement in English Syntactic Structure. Treatment was provided in the experimental group by conducting English Syntactic Structure on the SWBL while the control group was performing a lecturing learning class. The data were analyzed by using tcount and ttable. The final data was evaluated using the Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS 23). The result of this study indicated that the students using the SWBL in the English Syntactic Structure class exhibited significant improvement in creativity performance. The experimental class students who used web-based learning scored 16.111 higher than the control class. Furthermore, the SWBL capabilities of the experimental group demonstrated gradual and continuous improvement. In addition, students’ thinking skills and academic achievement in the experimental group are discussed in depth.

Abstract

SD Negeri 091524 PNP Tonduhan dan SD Negeri 096140 Parhundalian di Kelurahan Parhundalian-Jawadipar Kabupaten Simalungun merupakan salah satu sekolah tempat mahasiswa Prodi PGSD, FKIP Universitas HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar melakukan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, dan sudah mengadakan MoU. Di Kelurahan Parhundalian-Jawadipar ada 2 sekolah dasar negeri akreditasi A. Urgensi dari PkM ini adalah Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar yang menekan pada pembelajaran yang berpusat pada peserta didik yakni pada kebutuhan dan minat peserta didik dengan memperhatikan konten, proses, produk, pendidik (guru atau dosen), dapat menyesuaikan perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan penilaian proses pembelajaran dengan mengunakan digitalisasi sebagai media pembelajar di kelas. Guru dan Digitalisasi menjadi satu kesatuan dalam Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar sehingga guru-guru harus mempersiapkan pembelajaran kelas digital dengan dibekali dengan pengetahuan serta kecakapan pengguna dalam memanfaatkan media digital, seperti alat komunikasi, jaringan internet, lain sebagainya. Kecakapan pengguna (guru-guru) dalam numerasi digital mencakup mengerjakan, mengevaluasi, menggunakan, memanfaatkan dengan bijak, cerdas, cermat serta tepat sesuai penggunaannya. Tujuan PkM ini adalah membekali guru-guru SD yang ada di Kelurahan Parhundalian-Jawadipar Kabupaten Simalungun.
