Abstract

Dewasa ini penggunaan lidah buaya sangat banyak digunakan dalam pembuatan produk kosmetik yang ramah lingkungan salah satu penggunaan lidah buaya pada pembuatan hair tonic yang berguna untuk melebatkan rambut. Lidah buaya memiliki kandungan utama seperti: minyak atsiri, gum, aloin, mineral, emodin dan vitamin. Lidah buaya yang dimanfaatkan pada penelitian ini adalah gel lidah buaya dari jenis lidah buaya barbadensis yang berarti tanaman yang kaya akan protein, vitamin A, C, dan E, kalsium, untuk melembabkan kulit, menghilangkan jerawat dan meremajakan kulit. Lidah buaya juga berfungsi sebagai antibakteri dan antiinflamasi. Kandungan kimia lidah buaya yang berupa gel dapat dipaparkan secara rinci yaitu saponin, asam sinamat, lignin, polisakarida, eteral oil, acemannan, vitamin B1, B2, B6, asam folat, tannin, enzim oksidase, amilase, monosakarida, glukomanan, enzim bradikinase, dan salisilat. Berdasarkan uraian diatas, maka dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk membuat hair tonic dari lidah buaya dengan kode F1, F2 dan F3 dengan masing ? masing perbandingan ekstrak lidah buaya dan cairan lidah buaya 1:1; 1:2; 1:3, untuk mengetahui sifat fisik dari ketiga hair tonic dan untuk melihat gugus fungsi yang terdapat dalam hair tonic dengan alat instrumentasi Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR). Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh memperlihatkan bahwa Hair tonic F1 memiliki aroma khas lavender, warna peach, bentuk cairan kental, tekstur lembut, pH 3,8 dan viskositas sebesar 0,0039 ± 0,0003 NS/m2. Gugus fungsi yang terdapat dalam hair tonic F1 yaitu -(CH2)n, C=C aromatic, C=O amida, C=O ester, C-H alkana, C-H alkuna, C-H bending, alkuna dan O-H stretching. Hair tonic F2 memiliki aroma khas melati, warna peach, bentuk caiarn kental, tekstur lembut, pH 3,7 dan viskositas sebesar 0,0034 ± 0,0002 NS/m2. Gugus fungsi yang terdapat dalam hair tonic F2 yaitu -(CH2)n, C=C aromatic, C-O-C eter, C=O aldehid, C-H alkana dan O-H stretching. Hair tonic F3 memiliki aroma khas melati-peppermint, warna peach, bentuk caiarn kental, tekstur lebih lembut, pH 3,8 dan viskositas sebesar 0,0037 ± 0,0001 NS/m2. Gugus fungsi yang terdapat dalam hair tonic F2 yaitu -(CH2)n, C=C aromatic, C-O-C eter, C=O amida, C=O aldehid, C-H alkana dan O-H stretching.

Abstract

ABSTRAK : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan fraksi aktif senyawa flavonoid  biji mahoni sebagai antioksidan untuk menurunkan konsentrasi 8-OHdG dalam urin tikus yang terpapar etanol. Uji kadar total flavonoid pada fraksi dilakukan dengan metode spektrofotometri UV-Vis yang menunjukan fraksi n-butanol mengandung flavonoid terbanyak yaitu sebesar 41,734 mg/L. Pengukuran konsentrasi 8-OHdG dilakukan dengan ELISA pada panjang gelombang 450 nm. Hasil analisis dengan ELISA, dosis 50, 100, 150, dan 200 mg/kg selama 21 hari bb terbukti dapat menurunkan konsentrasi 8-OHdG pada urin tikus yang terpapar etanol selama 30 hari. Konsentrasi 8-OHdG pada perlakuan fraksi n-butanol dosis 50, 100, 150, dan 200 mg/kg bb, secara berturut-turut dapat diprediksi membutuhkan waktu selama 64, 66, 54, dan 32 hari agar konsentrasi 8-OHdG menjadi 0,3318 ng/mL.   ABSTRACT : This study aims to determine the active fraction flavonoid compounds in mahoni seeds as the antioxidant in decreasing urinary concentration of 8-OHdG in rats after being exposed to ethanol. Total flavonoid test was conducted using spectrophotometry UV-Vis method showing that n-buthanol fraction has the highest flavonoid level of 41,73 mg/L. The measurement of urinary 8-OHdG concentration has been carried out by ELISA on wavelength of 450 nm. The results showed that the concentration of 8-OHdG with dose of 50, 100, 150, and 200 mg/kg of body weight decreased during 21 days in male rats after being exposed to ethanol. The 8-OHdG concentration after treatment with  n-buthanol fractions with doses of 50, 100, 150, and 200 mg/kg of body weight was predicted to be 0,3318 ng/mL after 64, 66, 54, 31 days respectively.

Abstract

The 8-isoprostane compound can be used for a biomarker of oxidative stress  formed by lipid peroxidation in the form of arachidonic acid with free radical in the body. The purpose of this study was to analysis  urinary 8-isoprostane in male Wistar rats after sub-acute exposer to ethanol and cigarette smoke. Extraction method used was solid phase extraction and the analysis was conducted by TLC and spectrophotodensitometry. The results showed that the 8-isoprostane compound was not detected in the male Wistar rat’s urine as control rats and in those exposed to cigarette smoke. The average concentrations of 8-Isoprostane in the male Wistar rat’s urine exposed to ethanol and combination of ethanol-cigarette were 1.519 ± 1,386 and 2.063 ± 1,308 ppm respectively.

Abstract

Antioxidant compounds is one of compounds are needed by the body to reduce free radicals. The ability of antioxidants to reduce free radicals is called antioxidant capacity. The purpose of this study was to provide information on the total antioxidant capacity of the methanol extract of cocoa beans with the DPPH (2,2-Diphenyl-1-Picrylhydrazyl) method using spectrophotometer uv-vis. The crude extract obtained was extracted using methanol solvent by maceration method. The results of the phytochemical screening test on the methanol extract of cocoa beans showed the presence of flavonoids and tannins. The total antioxidant capacity test of cocoa bean extract used the standard equivalent value of gallic acid which has been shown to have a strong antioxidant ability to reduce DPPH free radicals at a wavelength of 517 nm. The results of the measurement of total antioxidant capacity in the variation of treatment, namely sun-dried cocoa beans and oven cocoa beans were 27.730 and 42.454 mg/mL GAEAC. Based on the results of this study, it was found that the ethanol extract of oven cocoa beans had the greatest total antioxidant capacity, namely 42.454 mg/mL GAEAC.

Abstract

This aims of activity to provide education to the public regarding the use and manufacture of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) in daily life on a household scale. These activity is in partnership with Cemagi Village, whose daily life usually makes coconut oil from copra (salted oil). The method used in this service is to provide solutions and knowledge, especially in the health sector, regarding the benefits of VCO in everyday life. Participants in this service program are very enthusiastic to accept and carry out every stage of the proposed program. The stages that have been carried out in this service program have helped to increase the knowledge of the Banjar Sangiangan community of Cemagi Village about the process of making VCO and to know the health benefits generated by consuming VCO.

Abstract

Cancer is a genetic disease in which cells are unable to control their functions normally. As cancer develops, old cells will survive when they should die, and new cells will grow when they are not needed. These extra cells can divide endlessly and can form growths called tumors . This research was carried out to know whether peristrophine, apioside, and pelargonidin 3-Sambubioside compounds could be developed as a drug in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) with the in silico method at the ROS1 receptor with the Protein Data Bank code 3ZBF with the native ligand crizotinib. Peristrophine, apioside, and pelargonidin 3-Sambubioside compounds have an affinity for ROS1 protein with binding energies of -6.12 kcal/mol on peristrophine, -6.74 kcal/mol on apioside, and -7.54 kcal/mol of pelargonidin 3-Sambubioside. Peristrophine, apioside, and pelargonidin 3-Sambubioside have a molecular mechanism in inhibiting ROS1 in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) through the formation of hydrogen bonds in the protein ROS1. From Lipinski's analysis, the peristrophine test compound has met the requirements and seen from the LD50 value of the peristrophine test compound, apioside and pelargonidin 3-Sambubioside has the same toxicity class as the comparison compound, namely crizotinib at class 4 toxicity.
