Abstract

This research applied quantitative research. Quantitative is basically framed in term of using numbers, closed-end question. Quantitative research is characterized as an efficient examination of wonders by gathering quantifiable information and performing factual, scientific, or computational procedures. In collecting data, the researcher used pronunciation test as instrument in order to get the data. The items of pronunciation test consisted of a list of 120 words. Each sound consisted of 5 words. Pronunciation test was given to the respondents through asking them to pronounce the words clearly and correctly while the researcher was recorded. The result of the research data showed that the students made 1085 or 93.53% errors of substitution, 38 or 3.28% errors of omission, and 37 or 3.19% errors of addition from the total errors found. It indicated that most of the students made errors in substitution with high percentage than omission and errors of substitution had higher percentage than omission and addition. The result of the data analysis showed that there were 179 or 97.28% errors of substitution, 5 or 2.72% errors of omission, and there were no errors of addition found in pronouncing English approximant consonants. So, from all kinds of errors, most of the students made errors in substitution both fricative and approximant consonants.

Abstract

English Textbook is the one important thing for teaching English in the school. Thus, the teacher should know that English textbook function and the philosophical foundation. This study aimed to find out the philosophical foundation of Buku Bahasa Inggris for Senior High Schools Grade XII 2018 revision. This study used content analysis inferential. The object of the study was English textbook “Buku Bahasa Inggris” for Vocational High School grade XII 2018 revision. The step of the study began to read the English textbook, making note, coding the data, collecting the data, categorize and classify and analysis. Sample of this textbook were 4 chapters of 11 chapters that were chapter 1,2,3 and 5. Inferential data of this study that found by using construct analysis. The result of construct analysis show some conclusion. Based on analysis content inferential, the researcher found six of philosophical foundation of English textbook of Buku Bahasa Inggris for Vocational High School Grade XII 2018 revision. They were Progressivism, Social Reconstruction, Humanism, Existentialism, Perennialism, and Essentialism. Thus, Progressivism, Social Reconstruction and Humanism were the most appearing on the English textbook “Buku Bahasa Inggris”. The researcher conclude that the English textbook applied student centered learning and problem solving where we can find from the English textbook.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat melalui Gerakan Isi Piringku dilaksanakan di Desa Tellumpanuae Kecamatan Mallawa Kabupaten Maros. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk soaialisasi masalah Kebutuhan gizi pada anak. Permasalahan mitra adalah (1) Pengetahuan para orang tua dan guru Pendidikan Anak usia Dini tentang kebutuhan gizi anak masih relatif rendah (2) Masih kurangnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan para orang tua atau guru Pendidikan Anak usia Dini dalam pengelolaan berbagai sumber bahan makanan yang ada (3) Para orang tua dan guru Pendidikan Anak usia Dini belum sepenuhnya termotivasi untuk berusaha memberikan edukasi terkait gizi yang sehat dan seimbang untuk anak (4) Terbatasnya variasi jenis sayur dan buah di desa. Metode pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah 1) tahap persiapan, meliputi observasi langsung ke lokasi di TK Negeri 11 Pusat PAUD Al Tajri, 2) tahap pelaksanaan meliputi kegiatan penyuluhan gizi dan pemeriksaan golongan darah dan 3) tahap pelaporan. Kegiatan ini berdampak mendukung program pemerintah dalam hal ini kementrian kesehatan dalam mengatasi stunting dan kurang gizi pada anak. Dengan gerakan “Isi Piringku” masyarakat akan memiliki pengetahuan tentang kebutuhan gizi.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Learning English at an early age has advantages both biologically and psychologically. Departing from these advantages, the Indonesian government through the Basic Education Curriculum establishes English as a local content that begins to be taught in grade four elementary schools, because English language skills are important enough to be mastered by all levels of society in the global era. In an effort to help make this happen, a community service program in the form of Express English Learning was carried out by training elementary school students in English. This activity was carried out at SDN 97 Inpres Tellumpanuae, Mallawa District, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi. This activity is carried out as an effort to provide English lessons for elementary school students so that they can apply it in every formal and non-formal activity. Besides, this activity is expected to increase students' knowledge and interest, and realize the importance of learning foreign languages, especially English, to increase the nation's competitiveness in the global community. From the results of this activity, it can be concluded that the Express English Learning program can help the primary students gain insight and increase their interest and learning outcomes in learning English. Abstract

Tujuan dilaksanakannya kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah 1) Menambah pengetahuan serta wawasan kepada guru tentang media pembelajaran; 2) mengubah pola pikir guru untuk selalu berinovasi dalam menyusun multimedia pembelajaran, 3) Memberikan pengalaman langsung bagi guru tentang langkah-langkah dalam menyusun mulitimedia pembelajaran yang interaktif; 4) meningkatnya motivasi untuk mengembangkan bahan ajarnya sendiri. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di SMAN 12 Bulukumba Desa Balibo Kecamatan Kindang Kabupaten Bulukumba. Peserta pada kegiatan pengabdian ini terdiri dari tenaga pendidik (guru) SD, SMP dan SMA yang berada pada wilayah pemerintahan Desa Balibo Kecamatan Kindang Kabupaten Bulukumba. Metode dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian ini melalui tahapan persiapan, tahapan pelaksanaan dan tahapan pendampingan pembuatan multimedia interaktif berbasis aplikasi flipbook maker. Dari hasil wawancara peserta pelatihan memberikan respon positif dan sangat mengapresiasi kegiatan pelatihan mereka mengatakan bahwa ada banyak peningkatan pengetahuan baru yang didapatkan selama pelatihan ini terkhusus strategi dalam pemilihan multimedia interaktif yang efektif dalam pengaplikasiannya.

Abstract

This research aims at finding out the students’ reading comprehension ability after implementing HOTS in learning process and the differences between those who are taught by implementing HOTS and those who are not, especially in making inference.This quasi-experimental research using two groups, experimental and control group through pre-test and post-test results. The samples are 23 students from class VIIIC and 22 students from class VIIIB of SMP Negeri 1 Cina which are taken by using Purposive Sampling Technique. The data obtained are analyzed using SPSS Application version 25.The finding shows that the mean score of pre-test in experimental class is 48.04 and the post-test score is 71.09. While in control class, pre-test score is 48.42 and in post-test is 50.91. After implementing HOTS in the classroom, reading comprehension ability increases to 32.42% and 4.9% in control class. This finding indicates that HOTS brings good effect in learning reading comprehension process because students can get used to questions related to making inference and their ability to answer reading comprehension questions improves. Students be able to predict questions and provide logical reasons related to texts and learning materials. Then it can be concluded that there are differences between those who are taught by HOTS and those who are not, in terms of learning outcomes and also the way they think.

Abstract

The aims of this study is to produce learning media in Android-based craft subjects through valid and practical smart apps creator applications at SMPN 12 Bulukumba. The research method used is the Research and Development (R&D) method. The development model used refers to the 4D development model (Four D-Model) consisting of 4 stages, namely: define, design, development and dessimeninate. However, this research was only carried out at the development stage. Because this research is only limited to developing and producing Android-based learning media products through smart application maker applications. The research was conducted in class VII SMPN 12 Bulukumba with 30 students and 1 teacher. The research instruments used were media and material expert validation sheets, student and teacher response questionnaires. The data collection technique used was the validation test and student response questionnaires. The results of the development show that learning media based on smart apps creator based on the assessment aspect obtained an average value of 3.70 with a very valid category. Meanwhile, the assessment of material experts is also in a very valid category with an average value of 3.70. The results of the small group trial assessment obtained an average value of 3.27 in the good category. While the results of the small group test obtained an average of with practical criteria while in the limited field test an average score of = 3.44 with very practical features and for teacher responses obtained an average average =3.65 with very practical features. Based on the results of research conducted through the development process, the researchers concluded that the learning media developed were valid and practical to use

Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out the factors that can influence students’ intrinsic motivation in learning English. This research was in descriptive quantitative method. The population of this research was the students of SMPN 2 Binongko, namely first grade. By applying simple random sampling technique, the sample of this research was 6 students from the first grade. Research instrument used for collecting the data was questionnaire. It consisted of 10 items about intrinsic motivation.The result showed that, in this research researcher analyzed factors that can influence students’ intrinsic motivation in learning English by intrinsic motivation is self-confidence that is owned by each students.  The data students’ intrinsic motivation was 55.92% in the first grade.

Abstract

This study sought to determine whether using a directional tracking strategy, which concentrated on level reading comprehension and included literal reading comprehension in terms of the primary idea and supporting notion, improved students' reading comprehension. The study was applicable pre-experimental research using pre- and post-text for one group. The researcher employed the entire sampling approach. 29 students from class XI of IPS Sma Al Jameah Pattuku served as the research sample. In both the pre-test and post-test, the researcher employed reading test practise as an instrument. The research findings indicated that directional tracking strategies can enhance students' comprehension of what they read. It was demonstrated by the fact that the pre-mean test's score, which was 65.36 and was rated as fair, improved by 21.05% to 79.12 and was rated as good. As a result, the student's reading comprehension in terms of the primary idea and supporting idea improved. Literal comprehension is the end result of improvement. The study discovered that (20.34%) had a higher value than (21.77%). This figure indicates that there was an improvement between the student's pre-test and post-test results. The application of the directional tracking strategy to enhance students' reading comprehension in the SMA Eleventh Grade was found to be effective. The Al Jameah Pattuku.

Abstract

This Community Service Activity (PKM) aims to; (1) provide an introduction to teachers at MAN 2 Model Makassar regarding Virtual Reality learning media as an alternative IT-based learning media, and (2) train MAN 2 Model Makassar teachers to be able to utilize Virtual Reality-based learning media. The methods applied in this service program are the presentation method, the demonstration method, and the practical method. The presentation method is applied in the introduction of hypermedia software using the millers lab application, its benefits, and its application in making virtual reality-based media, demonstration methods regarding program operations and practical methods where teachers practice directly making learning media according to their respective subjects with the use of media-based virtual reality
