Abstract

Characteristics of students who are diverse, such as different learning styles will also lead to the possibility of differences in students' ability to understand the learning material and every problem given, especially at the stage of understanding the problem given, because this stage is the most important step to determine the next problem-solving step. Therefore this study aims to reveal and illustrate how different characteristics of visual, audio and kinesthetic students in understanding problems. Data retrieval was done in class VIII of Arjasa 1 Junior High School with test methods, interviews, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed through stages of data reduction, analysis, and decision making. Furthermore, based on the data analysis that has been done, it can be concluded that there are differences in the characteristics of understanding problems for visual, auditory and kinesthetic students in terms of completeness and regularity of information writing, quantity of repetition of reading questions, marking important information and activity/movement habits done during the process of understanding the problem.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran merupakan suatu hal yangpenting untuk menunjang keberhasilan suatu pembelajaran. Kesulitan siswa dalam memahami materi dan membedakan bentuk-bentuk bangun datar merupakan permasalahan yangsering dihadapi guru. Oleh karena itu, maka sangat perlu dilakukan pengembangan dengan jalan modifikasi kartu UNO sebagai media pembelajaran bangun datar yang valid, praktis dan efektif sehingga mampu meningkatkan pemahaman siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama bulan Januari hingga November 2018 dengan melibatkan 58 siswa SMP Negeri 1 Arjasa dan MTs Nurul Jadid Bondowos sebagai subjek peneltian dalam uji coba pelaksanaannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE yang menggunakan perangkat berupa lembar validasi, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan media pembelajaran, lembar soal tes hasil belajar dan lembar angket siswa. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah berupa hasil modifikasi kartu UNO menjadi suatu bentuk kartu GEO yang telah valid, praktis dan efektif dalam menngkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap bangun datar segiempat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan modul berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education untuk pembelajaran bangun ruang sisi lengkung yang dilaksanakan di kelas IX di MTs Baitur Rohmah yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses dan hasil pengembangan modul ditinjau dari aspek kelayakan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. Pada penelitian ini dihasilkan pula instrumen penelitian yaitu lembar validasi, lembar observasi, tes, dan angket. Modul diuji kevalidannya oleh ahli materi dan media. Dari uji coba lapangan, didapat penilaian kepraktisan modul yang dinilai dari hasil angket respon siswa dan respon guru. Sedangkan untuk penilaian keefektifan modul dinilai dari tes hasil belajar siswa, aktivitas guru, dan aktivitas siswa. Hasilnya yaitu tersusunnya modul berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education untuk pembelajaran bangun ruang sisi lengkung yang valid, praktis, dan efektif

Abstract

The modality of learning or what we often refer to as learning styles is one of the main factors determining the speed of students in understanding and receiving information given to them. This article aims to identify various combinations of visual, audio, and kinesthetic learning styles that exist in 8th grade of SMPN 1 ArjasaJember. This research is a descriptive study that is used as preliminary data for a research project about analyzing students problem solving based on learning styles. The data in this study were obtained through questionnaire collection that was distributed to 58 students of class 8th A grade and 8th B grade which were determined using area sampling technique. As for the questionnaire used by researchers in the process of collecting data, previously it has been declared qualitatively valid by 2 psychologists. The results showed that overall the most learning styles possessed by eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Arjasa were visual learning styles with details of the percentage distribution of learning styles as follows: visual as much as 44.83%, audio as much as 31.04%, kinesthetic as much as 5.17%, visual-audio as much as 15.52%, audio-kinesthetic as much as 1.72%, and 1.72% for visual-audio-kinesthetic learning styles.

Abstract

The importance of emphasizing material understanding, creativity, freedom of expression, and teachers 'understanding of the thinking processes of their students, so with this research, the researcher wants to provide an overview of junior high school students' thinking processes through the mind mapping method which is carried out on 3 subjects with different mathematical abilities. Subjects were selected by purposive sampling according to predetermined criteria. The data was collected using the test method in the form of giving the task of making concept maps about the material being taught by the teacher and interviews about the results of their work. Furthermore, the data was processed using qualitative data analysis which includes reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. From the analysis, it was found that students with high abilities could fulfill 8 of the 9 indicators. For students with moderate ability, they can meet 7 of the 9 indicators proposed, while students with low abilities were only able to meet 6 of the 9 indicators. But in terms of using colors, students with low abilities were able to use more color variations with gradation techniques. Further research can take other subjects with various variables that are able to support students' thinking processes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan LKS berbasis model problem based learning pada materi bangun ruang sisi lengkung ditinjau dari aspek kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model pengembangan 4D yang terdiri dari pendifinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develop), dan penyebaran (disseminate). Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu (1) lembar validasi, (2) observasi keterlaksanaan LKS dalam pembelajaran, (3) aktivitas siswa dan guru, (4) angket respon siswa dan tes hasil belajar. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX A di SMP As-Syafi’i Rambipuji. Kualitas LKS dilihat dari aspek kevalidan termasuk dalam kategori valid dengan rata-rata skor penilaian ahli materi sebesar 4,18 dan rata-rata skor penilaian oleh ahli media sebesar 4,24 dengan kategori valid. Dilihat dari aspek kepraktisan LKS dinyatakan praktis dengan observasi keterlaksanaan LKS dalam pembelajaran mendapatkan skor rata-rata sebesar 4,41 dengan kategori tinggi. Dari aspek keefektifan LKS dinyatakan efektif berdasarkan hasil observasi aktivitas siswa mendapatkan skor sebesar 88,1% dengan kategori sangat baik. Hasil observasi aktivitas guru mendapatkan skor sebesar 92,5% dengan kategori baik. Hasil analisis tes hasil belajar dari 25 siswa yang menjadi subjek penilitian 21 (84%) siswa tuntas dan 4 (6%) siswa tidak tuntas. Hasil penilaian angket respon siswa mendapatkan skor rata-rata sebesar 4,07 dengan kategori baik. Dengan demikian LKS yang dikembangkan dinyatakan efektif.

Abstract

Etnomatematika merupakan ragam cara yang berbeda dalam melakukan matematika yang memperhitungkan penggunaan konsep-konsep matematika dalam sistem akademik yang dikembangkan di berbagai lapisan masyarakat dengan tetap memperhatikan tujuan yang berbeda – beda, dimana perbedaan budaya akan menciptakan perbedaan dalam praktek matematikanya (cara berhitung, mengelompokkan, mengukur, merancang bangunan atau alat, bermain dan lainnya). Berdasarkan hal tesebut penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan hasil eksplorasi etnomatematika pada batik tembakau Jember. Metode analisis dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Rumah Batik Rolla Jember dan Rezti’z Batik Tegalsari Ambulu Jember. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama satu minggu. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Etnomatematika pada batik motif tembakau khas Jember mempunyai konsep matematis berupa konsep dilatasi.

Abstract

The importance of critical thinking skills in problem solving is one of the objectives of implementing learning. While the ability to analyze and summarize the information obtained is called reflective thinking. This study aims to describe how students' reflective thinking processes during problem solving. Subjects needed in this study amounted to 1 student selected from 30 students of class IX D SMP Negeri 5 Jember. The data was collected by using the method of tests, questionnaires and interviews with analytical techniques including data reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the refractive thinking process of introverted students started from gathering information and interpreting it. Furthermore, students connect the existing information with the knowledge they have. The subject had no other alternative in solving the problem, so there was no reason for him to had a strategy that had been implemented. However, introverted students were able to find the right answers and checked the answers they received.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesadaran dan pengaturan berpikir siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah pada soal PISA. Penelitian ini berjenis penelitian kualitatif. Dipilih 2 siswa kelas XI SMA Nurul Islam Jember sebagai subjek penelitian, 1 siswa untuk kategori siswa yang memiliki nilai paling tinggi dan 1 siswa untuk kategori siswa yang memiliki nilai paling rendah. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes dan wawancara. Dilakukan analisis terhadap kesadaran penuh dan pengaturan berpikir siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal permasalahan berjenis PISA pada mata pelajaran matematika. Komponen kesadaran dan pengaturan berpikir siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah pada soal PISA yaitu attention, recall of knowledge, planning, monitoring dan evaluation. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh bahwa kesadaran dan pengaturan berpikir siswa berkemampuan tinggi dan siswa berkemampuan rendah berbeda serta bergerak secara tidak linear. Siswa berkemampuan tinggi dalam menyelesaikan masalah pada materi kecepatan yaitu melalui komponen attention, recall of knowledge, planning, planning, monitoring, evaluation, attention, attention, monitoring, recall of knowledge, planning, monitoring, recall of knowledge, planning, monitoring kemudian evaluation.
