Abstract

Cangkurawok Village is located in the outer of the Bogor Agricultural University area and does not have good sanitation facilities. Disposal of domestic wastewater directly discharges into drainage channels to river. Wastewater treatment plant design from toilets communal divides into three stages. The first stage is determining the location of toilets communal and excreta treatment plant. Location provided by the public is around 5 meters above the surface of the river water. The second stage is the determination of service areas. In this village consists of 70 heads of households as the basic criteria for determining the volume of septic tanks. The last step is determining the design of toilets communal and wastewater treatment unit. This stage requires t he unit options that fits on the selected sites, based on ease of maintenance and no need employ trained operators. Waste treatment facility consists septic tank and infiltration well planning. Septic tank volume is 26.5 m3 with the long dimension of 2.75 m, width of 5.5 m and height of 1.5 m plus 0.3 meters for free board. Septic tank serving four toilets communal is built above it, with the division of space for two men and two spaces for women. infi lt rat ion well constructed to absorb the waste liquid vertically through the soil pores. Layers of sand and gravel is spread throughout the wells to assist the flow pattern. Depth and diameter of infiltration well are 3 m and 1 rn, This wells should be placed lower than the drinking water sources and wells, with a minimum distance of 15 m.
The objective of this research is to develop a model of water table fluctuation on tidal lowland area of B/C type.  Modeling of water table is expected to support the agriculture development on tidal lowland area, especially on water management due to the important role of water management in the agriculture on tidal lowland area. The water table controls on the particular depth can support the farming system and avoid pyrite oxidation. Abstract

The model of water table fluctuation which is developed in this research based on the ellipse concept. The developed model has been tested on the tidal lowland areas in P6-3N Delta Telang I, Banyuasin District, South Sumatra Province. The simulated model showed the promoting result in estimating the depth of water table on tidal lowland area of B/C type. The developed model could explain the proportion of water table depth variation between 89.5% up to 94.7% with standard error estimation varied from 0.029 to 0.042 meters. The model has high sensitivity to the parameter of the water level in the tertiary canals.   Key words: modeling, water table, water management, tidal lowland area of B/C type

Abstract

The water supply to support the development and human needs need to be guaranteed forthe sustainable condition. Decreased water availability and increased water demand hasoccurred in Konawe Regency Southeast Sulawesi Province. In order to the management forwater supply in Konawe Regency can take place in a sustainable condition, it is necessary toapply the concept of sustainable development through the conservation of water resources. This study aims to analyze the sustainability of the status of water management for sustainablewater supply in Konawe Regency, and analyze the important factors that affect the sustainabilityof water management in the Konawe Regency. The analytical method used is a MultiDimensional Scaling called Rap-Konawe. The results are expressed in terms of index andstatus of sustainability. The analysis on the five dimensions indicate that the ecologicaldimension is sustainable enough (52.36%), economic dimension is less sustainable (36.93%),social dimension is less sustainable (34.16%), technology dimension is less sustainable(35.39%), and institutional dimension is less sustainable (35.39%). There was 12 attributesneed to be taken care immediately because of the sensitive affect on the increase of index andsustainability status.

Abstract

The objectives of the research were to modiv the tank model by using infiltration process in the model, based on available daily rainfall data, actual evapotranspiration rates, in 1996 and 1997 for the Cidanau Watershed. The hydrological data were the primary and secondary data. In this study, the prediction of the daily river runoff / discharge was developed by using the modified tank model of the rainfall-runoff processes, and applied to simulate the three land use types in the Cidanau Watershed, comprising of 22 620 Ha. The average coefficient of correlation is 0.81 for the model calibration and validation. The model can also be used to predict river discharge for different land use.

Abstract

Cidanau watershed in West of Java has 22,620 ha; it provides water for other basin in the largestindustrial city of Cilegon. To have future condition of water supply and demand for Cidanau and Cilegonregion model was developed expressing water supply from Cidanau built by tank model with some landuses related parameters. Water supply from Cidanau watershed depends on land use and water systemin the watershed. The rest of water flow to the downstream and be utilized to the Cilegon city by Cinangkapump station and calculated based on the water use of industrial and domestic. To maintain and increasethe availability of water, it is necessary to change some land uses into forest and install better water supplysystem with higher efficiencies. Water availability of runoff under existing condition as Scenario 1 is onlysufficient until before the year 2018. Scenario 2 with the land use to be change as 50% of the mixedagricultural dry land system into forest area and 50% garden into rice field, water availability will be sufficientuntil more than 2018. If Scenario 2 was used together with Scenario 3 having better efficient technology, water supply will be sufficient until more than the year 2025.Keywords : water supply, water demand, urban, interbasin, system dynamicsDiterima: 7 Januari 2009; Disetujui: 14 Juli 2009
