Abstract

The aim of this research are (1) To describe the factors influences the community participation on management of Togean Island National Park. (2) To analyze the role of extension and it’s correlation to the community participation. (3). To formulate an extension strategy to increase the community participation on management of Togean Island National Park. The research was conducted in Togean Island National Park in Central Sulawesi on August to Septembre 2008 and March to April 2009. Five variables are used to measure the community participation by using Structural Equation Model (SEM) and LISEREL 8.30 sofware. Those variables are internal characteristic, extension process, eksternal factor, community capacity and community participation. The result of research shown that extension proccess have a significant effect on the community capacity. Community capacity have a significant effect to the community participation on management of Togean Island National Park. The strategy that can be used to increase the community participation is to improve the process of extension.  Keywords: extension, community participation and national park.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the  influence of community  participation and extension strategy to  increase the community participation on the  management of the Togean Island National Park. The research was conducted  in the Togean Island National Park in Central Sulawesi on September 2011. Five variables were used to measure  the community participation using Structural Equation Model (SEM) and  LISEREL 8.30 sofware. Those variables were internal characteristics,  extension proccess,  external factors, community capacity and community participation. The results of the research showed that extension proccess have a significant effect on the community capacity.  It also showed that the community capacity has a significant effect on the community participation on management of Togean Island National Park. The strategic implementation that can be used to increase the community participation is to  improve the process of extension. This strategy should be supported by willingness of government to consistently applied the concept of collaborative management of National Park  at the local level. Key Words : Extension strategy and Participatory aproach.

Abstract

The main objective of this study was to identify the adaptation of Banggai Yum (Dioscorea spp) "Baku Sombok" in Palu area under the application of technology inputs i.e. integrated soil fertilizer management. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) in which treatments were seven combinations of inorganic fertilizers, organic fertilizers and mulches. Each treatment consisted of 3 groups so that there were 21 experimental units. There was no significant effect on all parameters of growth components, except on plant height at 74 and 102 days after planting (DAT). The effect on production components such as, tuber product (t ha-1), tuber fresh weight (kg), tuber diameter (cm), tuber length (cm), number of tuber, number of plants with bulbs were also not significant. However, it was significant on tuber fresh weight. Different effect appears on the mulch treatment and with no mulch treatments.  It is suggested that the results would be better if the mulch treatment are combined with inorganic and organic fertilizers. Key Words : Anorganic Fertilizers, Organic, Rice Straw Mulch, Ubi Banggai Type "Baku Sombok".

Abstract

This research aimed to study the effect of the combination of inorganic fertilizers, organic fertilizers and rice straw mulch on growth and yield of LembahPalu shallot variety. This study was conducted in farmers’ fields in Makuvillage of Sigi districtin May to July 2013 using a randomized block design (RBD).Treatmentswere a combination of different inorganicfertilizers, organic fertilizers and rice straw mulch consisting of seven treatments (A= onion cultivation methods applied by farmers, B= inorganic fertilizer, C= organic fertilizer, D= inorganic fertilizer + organic fertilizer, E= inorganic fertilizer + rice straw mulch, F= organic fertilizer + rice straw mulch and G= inorganic fertilizer + organic fertilizer + rice straw mulch). Each treatment was replicated infour groups so that there were 28 treatment units. Differences between treatmentswere analyzed using the honest significant (HSD) test at 5% level. The B treatment (inorganic fertilizer) showed better plant growth components while the G treatment (inorganic fertilizer + organic fertilizer + rice straw mulch) had better yield components. Keywords : Anorganic fertilizer, Onion, Organic, Rice Straw Mulch
